Great location, awful beds, staff knows nothing”
The location is perfect. But I couldn’t sleep- the mattress was SO hard, the pillows were really tough lumpy ones (non lumpy on one side, lumpy on other, but altogether rock hard), and the walls were not even a little bit soundproof. Staff gave me towels to use as pillows since they only get the one option. As for staff- kind, certainly, but cannot provide any recommendations re food in the surrounding area, and worse yet, direct me to do my own research (in English) rather than assist in Japanese.

Perfect location and service”
This hotel is just next to the bus terminal. I didn’t even need to use my GPS to find this hotel. The room and the beds (we got 2 twins beds) are not big but can fit two adults and two 5 & 8 years old kids. We moved the two beds next to the wall so no one fell down to the floor at night. Haha. At your stay, if you don’t need any house keeping to clean your room or just need them to change the towels and make the beds but no need to clean the floor, they will give you some gifts when you check out. I like this idea a lot. Regarding the service, I have to give them a big thumb up. Before I went there, I emailed them to help me make some restaurant booking. They helped me to call the restaurants one by one. This is a huge help for me because not all Japanese can speak English. And Belinda is from Hong Kong. Yeah! I can speak Cantonese with her and she helped me call the local tour and massage shop to make the booking. Thank you so much Belinda. I definitely will choose Cucule again.

Great stay at Hotel Cucule - close proximity to the pier, where the airport bus stop is. - Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful (they helped us make dinner rsvps ahead of time via email) - Also worth mentioning is their drive for sustainability by offering guests the option of a full clean/light clean/no clean service, and rewards guests with small gifts - really great concept and good way to engage guests! - Free amenities provided (sunscreen, facial masks) and hotel can lend you beach towels for the day. Bikes also available for free rental - Great breakfast!

Fantastic location, staff, breakfast and service”
The hotel is right next to the main street on the island so super easy access to all the shops, izakaya and restaurants. It is also 3 mins walk to the bus station and 5 mins walk to the ferry port - just perfect! The hotel has a good facility such as laundry machines, dryers, microwave etc., we also borrowed bicycle (free of charge) and explored the area, which was amazing. Breakfast was also brilliant, staffs are so friendly and freshly prepared breakfast was one of the most amazing breakfast we ever had! Including breakfast ladies, I think the staff at the hotel and their hospitality is what makes the hotel so special. We will definitely come back!

Very Nice place”
The location of this hotel is great! It locates in the town centre, all necessities are all around it. Only 5-minute walk to the pier and the shopping plaza. The room is clean and quiet. Free wifi in room and free ice is provided in the laundry room. The restaurant is a little bit small and crowded. I think it is good choice when staying in Ishigaki.

The hotel service is very good. Their staffs are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is truly Okinawa-Japanese cuisine. The location of hotel is very near to port and bus terminal (walking distance). Rental bicycle is free, great for explore the island. First time they provide free face mask (no such hotel provide like this).

The hotel room is small but the staffs are very helpful, they have offered Free car parking at a public car park within 10mins walks. The hotel located in the shopping street. I defintely will stay again next time

The staff have good service attitude and the hotel have caring service for the tourists which provide many different products for using. The breakfast is good and the hotel is in the town centre which easy to find restaurants and get ship to other islands

A small hotel with muji-like no frills design and furnishing. Thoughtful with free juices served throughout the day. Basic breakfast which was amazing in taste. We loved the izakaya located just on the 1F of this small hotel. And the icecream shop diagonally across!

We can communicate with the front desk in English, they provide the good service to us, and their breakfast is very good, we can eat and choose their different kinds of the delicioius food everyday. The location is very best, all the restuarants and souvenir shops is nearby. and the bus terminus is quite close. We will choose this hotel again when we back to Ishigaki in the future.

Very close to shops and food. The hotel offer parking 1000yens/night just opposite the hotel. However, it is a small open area. We need to leave our car key with them at night in case over parked.

Decent hotel but completely inflexible”
Although overall this hotel was of good quality and value, the staff was overly strict and inflexible with their policies. I am half-Japanese and know quite well that the Japanese, although extremely hospitable, can be somewhat inflexible in their rules/policies. Despite that fact, I encountered two small situations that could have easily been made into positive experiences had the staff not been so inflexible. On the first morning, we arrived at breakfast at 9:40am, a mere 10min after "last order" which was not explained at check-in (we were only told breakfast ends at 10am). The entire buffet was still out and ready to be served, however the rather impolite woman working the breakfast told us we could not have anything aside from bread as we had missed the last order by 10min. She also told us we couldn't sit and eat in the cafe area and should eat elsewhere, although there was a group there that clearly had sat down to start eating minutes before we arrived.
