WOW”
Everything about Jinpyokaku exceeded all expectations of my group (4 people ages 30-32). They gave us a complimentary shuttle from Yudanaka station to the hotel. It's location is ideal, just a couple hundred meters from the entrance to Jigokudani park. The hotel fully embodies the subtle beauty of classic Japanese architecture--the word charming comes to mind, but no words are truly appropriate. After returning from the monkey park, we enjoyed the fabulous onsen. The only knock on it is that there is a large hotel overlooking the mixed-gender bath, but other than that, the aesthetic is amazing and we all left feeling completely restored. Dinner (included in the price) was a phenomenal experience. There were something like 15-20 different dishes, all using remarkably fresh, local ingredients and presented beautifully. The meal culminates in local, apple-fed beef shabu shabu. Simply incredible. When we got back in our room (which was more than big enough for 4 large Americans), the futons were already fully set up. I was worried that my companions would have a hard time sleeping in traditional Japanese style, but these were by far the thickest, most comfortable futons I'd ever slept on. To top it off, they place a flagon of hot onsen water in the futon, so it's warm and cozy when you slip in. It was 8:30pm, and I literally fell asleep within 2 minutes, then woke up at 6am feeling like a million bucks. Another dip in the onsen was followed by a luxurious breakfast featuring hijiki, egg/enoki tart, roasted radish, rice, and about 6 other dishes, tea, coffee, etc. I give Jinpyokaku my strongest possible recommendation. My companions relied on me to show them an authentic Japanese hospitality experience, and Jinpyokaku delivered beyond my wildest expectations. It's an absolutely world-class establishment.

Serenity at its best”
Everything about Jinpyokaku leads to a great experience. From the moment you are picked up until the time you are dropped back you have a feeling that you are being treated like royalty. It is so peaceful that you need to remember to breathe. There are only 6 rooms at the Honten, so you have this feeling of complete privacy. Both the diner and breakfast meals are excellent and would put many a high end restaurant to shame. The staff (especially Nishi) go out of their way to make you feel comfortable without getting in your way. I would highly recommend staying at Jinyokaku if you are looking at somewhere in the area.

A perfect 10”
We were at first apprehensive about the price, but after the stay, we must say it was worth every penny! Having stayed at various high end ryokans in Japan, Jinpyokaku is easily the best hands down. The service of the staff is impeccable, yet personable and genuine. The age of the ryokan adds to its charm, yet it is so well maintained and clean. The staff even quietly cleaned our shoes overnight to our pleasant surprise! The host was ever so patient, polite and helpful, without being overbearing and intruding our space. Every meal is an art, both visually and in the gastronomic sense. The shinshu beef, mountain trout and apple juice are out of this world! Facilities wise: the wifi is fast, in-room Yamaha sound system superb. The room was huge, even has both indoor and outdoor private onsens. The toiletries are of the highest quality. The futons are wonderful to sleep in.

A beautiful getaway”
I stayed at Jinpyokaku for 2 nights by myself in a room with my own private onsen (hot spring bath) - absolute bliss. The staff were friendly and happy to help. While serving me dinner, they politely asked if I was going anywhere sightseeing the next day and suggested the Snow Monkey Park. They were happy to help the next day when I asked for directions around the area, as I had hired a car and went driving in the mountains. The food was incredible, the room layout and the attention to detail was perfect. I really enjoyed my time there and I would love to go back.

Beautiful Ryokan”
We loved our short stay at the Jinpyokaku Hoten. We stayed here to visit the nearby Snow Monkey Park and the location could not have been better. Our room was great, with our own private onsen, fed by a natural hot spring, in our bathroom. We had a wonderful traditional Japanese kaiseki dinner in a private room, and breakfast was just as delicious. But, mostly importantly the staff was so friendly and accommodating. It all made for a great stay.

Fantastic Stay at Jinpyokaku! ”
We spent two nights at Jinpyokaku to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay and the occasion as special as possible. We are back home and still dreaming of our onsen soaks (both in-room and public) and afternoon with the nearby snow monkeys. Highly recommend!

Amazing Ryokan at a Great Price”
Wonderful service, food, and onsen. Staff could not have been kinder. Stayed at another, more expensive, Ryokan later in the trip and Jinpyokaku takes the cake! Highly recommended!

Best ryokan ever”
Oh my god , this ryokan is the one of the best ryokan we ever been. The staffs picked us up at the train station. They gave us lots of delicious food for dinner and breakfast. Very nice onsen. Because they only have 6 rooms so you wont seeing another guest very often while using their public onsen. I can use public onsen just like my own private onsen. But the location is kinda far and nothing to see around the hotel except monkey forest. Well you can always relaxing your body in the room 😍

best Japanese traditional hotel (ryokan) ever been to”
okay so best could be a little overwhelming here as i may have tried this one ryokan, but after all this is my first visit to Japan, we're on our honeymoon and it happened to snow in the autumn of the year and we can dip in the onsen at the same time snow was falling, what else could we asked for more. we booked a room with indoor onsen just in case we didn't make it to the public bath, man the indoor onsen really put up the atmosphere by much, totally worth it. food was also amazing, although it's not served right in the room, well after seeing their full meal plan, i guess we could all agree it's too much to set up in the bedroom, better yet no cooking odour. staffs were very helpful and kindly attending to our questions and needs. I'd totally recommend this to anyone looking for the ryokan experience. don't forget to visit the monkey park while you're in the area.

Authentic ryokan with impeccable service & care”
I visited this small, lovely ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) with two friends to see the Snow Monkeys. This inn is just steps from the Monkey Park, so if that is your aim, you can ask for no better. The inn is quite small, with gorgeous grounds and gardens, and a wonderful onsen. The onsen was great, the meals were wonderful, and the staff were amazing. We were there during a huge snowstorm which shut down travel, and the staff was so helpful in assisting us with travel. You should be aware that this is an authentic ryokan, with traditional tatami floors and you sleep on floor beds, which are lovingly laid out for you. They are very comfortable and warm, but it is not for everyone. They provide gorgeous yukatas to wear around, so you get the full ryokan experience. we had our own, very spacious room, which was wonderful and cozy. I HIGHLY recommend this lovely gem, for couples, adults looking for relaxing, peaceful weekend. It is not the best for children (small, not a lot of places to run about). One of the more restorative weekends I've had. thank you & we shall be back!

Excellent stay”
It was a shame we could only stay at this guesthouse for one night as we enjoyed it so much, the staff are lovely, the room was huge with a nice private onsen bath and the food was excellent. They made my birthday visit very special. The hotel is well located for the walk to the snow monkey park and the staff were helpful with transport to the local station in the morning. We had a lovely time here and left feeling very relaxed.

Unforgettable”
A must do!!! Worth every single penny!! Only a 30 minute walk to the Monkey Park, this location was absolutely stunning. They picked us up personally from Yukadana station and personally escorted us to our room to show us what everything was and sort out dinner times. Absolutely stunning and amazing staff! Everyone was so sweet and nice. The personal bath in our room was hands down gorgeous. Loved that face toner and moisturizer was provided. The mixed open air bath was perfect!! They provide cover for the women for the mixed bath. The food was amazing!! Loved absolutely everything and recommend to everyone to stay here for the experience.

Wonderful service”
We love their services and foods. That's excellent. The place is quite far from the station but they have a pick up service. We can walk to the snow monkey from the hotel on the beautiful road. We really love their onsen for both private and public room.

Amazing experience”
wonderful staff, the Ryokan itself is beautiful and the onsens are perfect. I highly recommend getting a private outdoor onsen in your room. The meals were so well presented and delicious (and so filling) and the amenities in the room were great. Overall amazing experience (I think a must for a least a night to really experience Japan) and would recommend to anyone. Also very close to the snow monkeys (walkable)

Excellent room, fantastic service!”
Recently stayed here as a treat for the last night of our honeymoon. Best place we stayed in Japan without question. Can't fault the service, the lady who was assigned to look after us spoke good English and was incredibly friendly and nice. My wife is a strict vegetarian, and they managed to prepare amazing meals for us, mine with meat, and hers meeting her constraints. The room (Futari-shizuka) was fantastic, huge, and comfortable, and we really enjoyed having our own mini onsen. Walking distance to the snow monkeys too.

Excellent experience”
LOVED the private onsens in the room. The meal was extremely elaborate and filling to make sure you go to dinner hungry! Staff was very accommodating: I don't eat seafood, they let us keep our luggage there before check-in and after check-out, they provided snow boots, they offered to take our pictures in various settings/situations. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Highly recommended. Excellent services and food.”
Very peaceful location high up the mountains. It's very close monkey park. Staff were super attentive and felt like they are at our service at all times. Excellent food prepared by the owner who is 66 years old! Cannot believe the amount of food we ate but we couldn't stop because it was simple yet super delicious. Onsens were quite so we got the public onsen all to ourselves at night.
