Very cost-effective”
Our group of 4 enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the staff came out to greet us. The staff explained the facilities very clearly and politely. The house is clean and comfortable, and the scenery outside the window is beautiful, but the TV is a bit small. The hotel's first-class hot spring facilities make travelers feel refreshed physically and mentally. The food is outstanding, the kaiseki and breakfast are exquisite and delicious. The hotel also provides free drinks and snacks. Highly recommend this hotel!

Relaxing Vacation”
Kappa Liner has a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Was taken to an off-site restaurant for dinner. The food was excellent! The hotel's lounge was a nice place to relax. Beer and sake were complimentary in the evening. Beverages and snacks available throughout the day. Friendly staff made the short stay so enjoyable!

Relaxing. Great view. Great food. Private onsen.”
We absolutely enjoyed our 1 night's stay here. The staff are very friendly- even gave us a souvenir photo upon learning that we were on our honeymoon. The room we got was huge! With tatami room, seating area by the window, bedroom, and best of all, private bath (onsen)! Food was delicious and healthy! Enjoyed the free lounge area too- try the different sake and tea at night! We also enjoyed the massage chairs near the spa. Main onsen areas were nice too! Mountain views from our room were magnificent. Free shuttle going to and from Sapporo City proper. We had a magical snowy time!

Great place for a short getaway ”
We had a Japanese Western style room with private hot spring bathtub. Wife and I had a great private time here, private onsen, nice Japanese style breakfast and dinner, hotel was not crowded when we were there, area around hotel is nice, we had a little morning walk with powder snow around. And there’s a bus stop right outside of hotel to the Sapporo Kakusai ski resort, it is about 25minute from hotel to ski resort, very convenience.

Go for a room with private onsen!”
This was our first time staying at an onsen, so we are only reviewing based on our experience and not in comparison with other onsen stays. We splurged for a room with a private onsen with a western style bed to get the most out of our stay. Check in was a joy (we were sat down in a private table in their cafe, and a staff member came to US to check us in and to go over the amenities). We also went with the kaseki dinner option and added the hair crab as it was in season. The meal was delicious but if you don't speak Japanese I suggest to contact them ahead of time to see if they have an English speaking staff member or English menu available to make the dinner more special (i.e. knowing where the ingredients came from, etc makes it more special!). They also have a free shuttle pick up in Sapporo. My only complaint is that they didn't have any smoke-free rooms.

Make dinner reservations ahead of time”
Had a nice stay. Service was excellent and rooms were super clean. (They must polish the walls as well.) Major disappointment was that dining options in room was not available. We were looking forward to having the famous Japanese style in room dining. We were not aware that we needed to book that well in advance. Also wish that breakfast hours were longer and later. Generally while on vacation, we like to sleep a bit later. Hotel location is far from public transport with no taxi service nearby. Had to walk quite a bit dragging luggage. But hotel staff was very gracious and willing to store our luggage while we explored the local sights since we arrive before check in time. It was very nice having a private traditional Onsen in our room. So lovely to bath in private and enjoy the view.

Very good”
Enjoy my stay, excellent room! excellent Japanese dinner, but breakfast wasn’t that good, need more hot food at breakfast for winter time. Free shuttle bus from Sapporo to the hotel, you need to find it yourself on the hotel website. Because the hotel NEVER reply your email!!

A very good onsen hotel in Jozankei ”
It’s my first time visiting Jozankei. Daiichi hotel is a very nice place to stay. We stayed at a Japanese room with private onsen. It’s a one-in-life-time experience to have a private onsen inside your room. There’s a outdoor private onsen that you can’t missed. It’s free of charge! Only to book to secure a time slot. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and with details! Traditional Japanese serving. Location of the hotel is good, 10mins walk to the onsen street area and 30mins walk to reach 二見吊橋。

Relaxing Ryokan Hotel with great foods”
The hotel is located in Jozankei. There is a free shuttle bus provided. The meeting point is on Odori nishi 5 Chome. They have two main onsens in their second floor. The upper level onsen offers a beautiful outdoor onsen while the lower level onsen has more spacious indoor onsen. Subsequently the hotel provided us with one time entry to another hot spa building which is just beside of the hotel. Make sure you bring your own towel. The foods offered is really delicious and the kind person who attended to us is very kind and polite.

And we want to thank Mr. Yuri Fujiwara for the excellent service. My 2 young children enjoyed the big onsen so much. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Everything is just fine for us. Sure will stay in this hotel again when visit Jozankei.

Best experience”
The overall experience of this ryokan was amazing right from the start. They provide complimentary bus shuttle from Sapporo (near Okura Hotel) to the ryokan, but please remember to make advance reservations with the hotel for seats on the bus. Upon reaching the property, the staff was very welcoming and check-in process was brisk. So we were quickly settled into our rooms & yutakas. Not only was the room very clean and spacious, there was boiled water and ice water ready for us. Some of the things we really liked about this place was 1) there were sizes for the yutakas provided and we could wear it everywhere within the hotel, 2) the public and outdoor baths were not crowded at all and very clean, 3) the common area had a very relaxing vibe and comfortable seating areas + massage chairs, 4) the chef menu dinner was yummy but would have been helpful if they could explain the courses in English and 5) breakfast was delicious with a view! There was nothing we could fault the hotel on. Totally awesome experience and would do it again!

Good onsen, good location, friendly staff.”
Onsen location is good in the small town of Jozankei. Plenty to do within the resort itself, with good onsen facilities, restaurants, spa, and even a souvenir/convenience shop. Hotel is clean and service is top notch. Half board breakfast and dinner serves good, fresh, high-quality food. Suitable place even for young kids

Wonderful experience! ”
It was our first time staying at a Ryokan and I am so glad we picked Jozankei. The highlight of our stay had to be the private onsen that was located outdoors. Such a thrilling experience to be bathing in hot water under such cold temperatures! The location is a little out of the way so you will have to call (don't email) the concierge to have them book you a seat on the shuttle bus. Book fast because there's only one bus a day!
