I always start my reviews with the cons then the pros. So here goes... The toilet doesn’t have a bidet. A bummer especially if you’re used to the magical qualities of a Japanese toilet with a bidet. However, if it’s your first time in Japan then you won’t miss it. Yet. There were no complimentary toothbrushes and toothpastes but there is a convenience store about 50 to 60 meters away in case you forgot to bring your own oral hygiene essentials. The walls might be a bit thin as we could hear someone being loud. It was not too bothersome as to complain the noise and he or she stopped after a few minutes. You must leave your shoes in the shoe cabinet before entering the hostel. Guests are provided with indoor slippers to use while inside the hostel. We were greeted warmly and they even allowed us to leave our luggage in their office since we arrived four to five hours early at the hostel. The private room we rented was adequate for a family of two adults and a six year-old. There are some space for one large luggage but don’t expect to fully open it flat. The room is clean and well-lighted. No unusual odor or smell. The bathroom is also adequate but don’t expect two adults to be able to take a shower at the same time. We were provided with body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. If you need to wash your clothes, you can use the washing machine and the dryer for ¥500. It is located on the same floor as the receptionist, the lobby and the kitchen are located. There are rental bikes and umbrellas in case you may need them. There are a lot of places to eat in the area. One of them is an Indian place just at the corner. There’s also a great teppanyaki place called Maruaki Hida Takayama a couple of corners to the East. Don’t forget to check out Jakson Curry and Coffee as well. The old district is also a walking distance from the hostel. The receptionist was super helpful. He even organized a bus ticket for me to Kyoto by finding it online and gave me all the information I needed. They also have a map marking all the restaurants and convenience store which is very handy and the shoe dryer is a life saver on a rainy day

Near the station, clean, with free coffe and tea, nice staff, you can cook your own food in their kitchen. 15mins walk to supermarket. the elevator and the reception is in the second floor though so you have to carry your luggage to the reception. We still recommend staying here. We will definitely stay here again when we come back in Takayama.

There are a few K's Houses in Takayama, but Oasis met our expectation almost straight on. I book K's House from 20 to 21 December for the Japanase style room, it was mid-winter. Although K's is a hostel, options like in room bathroom is available. The room was spacious and K's was the only establishment I can find that accepts our family of 5 in 1 room. Kitchen and common area is always clean and everyone who uses it played their part in keeping it clean.. wonderful. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious with heating that we can sleep very well on the futon. Right next door is a Nepalese HALAL restaurant (seems to be the only halal restaurant around), pretty much the only place we went to eat. It has a wonderful roof-top open area where you can have small meals in the late morning, a recommended place to check out. This establishments has price, location and surrounding attraction for short-term visitors .

There is insufficient space in the common area for guests. Only 2 small tables and 2 sofas. Rooms do not have chairs too. Bed was comfortable and the design of the ladder is good, not as steep as those vertical ones for other bunk beds.

Extremely convenient, just a walking distance to the bus and train station, and there are loads of restaurants to choose from just near the hotel. Loved the lounge area and the free freshly brewed coffee every morning. Highly recommended!

Very good location - just 3min walk from Takayama Station. 2min to Family Mart. Quite large room - suit my family (2 adults, 2 small kids, 1 infant). Comfortable futons. Very clean toilet. Staff can speak english very well. I left my phone in the room, and the staff informed me promptly. Recommended 👍🏻👍🏻

Stayed in tatami room for 4 persons, the room is spacious with a private bathroom. Staff are friendly and fluent in English and even help us to carry our luggage up to the 2nd floor. The location is very good, near to Nohi Bus Station and JR Takayama Station, it is very convenient for us traveling with old folks/kids. Everything is good for us.

We stayed at K's House Takayama Oasis in a Japanese style room with attached bathroom and toilet. We had great and comfortable experience with Japanese futon and the room is very spacious and can easily fit 4 people. It took us only 2 minutes walk from Takayama train station to K's House, very nice location and close to supermarket and attractions and pretty much everything. The next morning we had to checkout pretty early so we dropped the key into the keybox and left our luggages in the room (we asked earlier if we can leave the luggage at the reception and the receptionist was very nice and told us to just leave our luggages in our room and pick them up later). Overall, we love our stay at K's House Takayama Oasis, the atmosphere was very nice and calm and worth the price.

Perfect base for exploring Takayama”
K's House Takayama Oasis lies between Takayama Station and the old town district so it's very accessible. Takayama is very walkable anyway so most of the places of interest are just a few minutes away. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the dorms were comfortable. They reminded me of capsule hotels in Tokyo. I would definitely stay here again.

A great stay”
We stayed 3 nights in the Japanese styled ensuite room. It was quiet, comfortable and cosy. We rented pyjamas for only ¥100 a set. Saved us the trouble of packing our own. As we stayed for more than a night, we were given complimentary one time use of laundry. The usual cost was ¥300 for washer and dryer. Very reasonable. The kitchen was well equipped. A guest was cooking dinner (frying vegetables, not just instant noodle) on our first night and they also tried using the ice shaving machine to make ice shaving. It was a fun place to stay. The hostel was very well maintained. Very clean and organised. The staff can speak relatively fluent English and are helpful to provide information. They also helped to arrange for our luggage to be transferred to our accommodation in Shinjuku as we were going hiking at Kamikochi after Takayama. It was a great experience staying at K's House.
