The owners picked us up and took us where ever we wanted. :) Also I left my I phone leads in the room and they went out there way to send by post to my next location in japan and did not ask for nothing. Lovely Ryokan”
This Ryokan is owned by a nice couple. They response to all our enquiry very quickly. The owner picked us from the Yudanaka station to the Ryokan and even arrange to send us to the snow Monkey park the next day morning. They even offer to pick us back once finished the visit. We stayed 2 nights in this Ryokan and everything was perfect. The room is big. The Ryokan will provide the key to access the 9public baths, but i think the best is still the one in this Ryokan. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Great ryokan stay!”
The owner was very kind and picked us up from the station when we arrived at the train station as well as drive us to and from the snow monkey park. The ryokan was right near the 9 onsens so we had easy access to them at night. The room was very warm, great facilities, was a spacious accomodation and friendly owners. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a night at shibu onsen!

the best hotel for me in Japan”
I spent only a night there but I feel very very happy and want to go back to stay there again. The owners were friendly, the room was very good and value for money. In the room had private toilet, refrigerator and green tea with little snake. There also has onset inside the hotel and one outside where you can get snow and hot pool together in the winter.

Exceptional”
Great ryokan, huge, clean, comfortable room, the private onsen is very nice too. They can pick you up and drop off at Yudanaka station by a van. You can pick up the key for the public onsens at the front desk qnd check out all of them for free. Free kimono rental is also available at the hotel, the owner's wife can help non-japanese to dress up. :) Restaurants are pretty close and the monkey park is a 30-45 min hike, but the owner can take you there as well by car. Shibu-onsen is beautiful, even in the summer off season, one of the best places during our 2 weeks backpacking trip in Japan. Daimaruya Ryokan is a perfect place to stay at.

Short stopover near Yudanaka”
We were skiing around the Shibu Onsen area but for the final night we wanted to head to the monkey park and stay around the vicinity. The room was spartan but was clean. Place was close to the monkey park (tourist friendly shuttle bus available). The owner was also kind enough to give us a lift to the Yudanka station the following morning. There was also a private outdoor hot spring that was wonderful to soak in a cold winter night.

The friendliest service I've ever witnessed”
I rarely write any reviews but with this ryokan I will make an exception. We (2) stayed at the place for 3 nights. It's a really good value for money if you're looking for a traditional japanese ryokan experience. Located in the Shibu onsen area you also get a key to access the public baths spread along the street ("onsen hopping") and you have a bus stop conveniently 30m from the front door for the Snow Monkey park and Shiga-Kogen ski-resort. The guests can also use the ryokan onsens and a private bath session for couples was easily arranged. But what really struct us was the hospitality of the owners. My girlfriend caught a fever and they did everything they could to help us, provided medicine and even offered us an extra night free of charge to recover. Highly appreciated and recommended!

Great ryokan in a beautiful town ”
I have been to Yudanaka and surrounding areas 4 times, this time I stayed here at the inn. It's very nice and has a wonderful location in Shibu Onsen. Everything is in walking distance and it's very quaint. The owners are so nice! They picked us up from the train station (about 5 minutes driving). Their English skills are excellent, among the best I found in Japan, if that makes things easier for you! The onsens are hot but not boiling like some of the others I've been to. There is a private onsen outside that guests are allowed to use. I love the outside one because it's beautiful to sit in while it's snowing! I would return to this place.
