It is a spacious lovely hotel, an old one but decent. I booked through agoda a deluxe twin room with 64m2, although it turned out the room is much smaller than 64m2 (superior one?). i experienced once stayed in a bigger room. If you plan to use an extra bed and have booked a spacious one, please check first and ensure the room size. a bit disappointing

Nice authentic hotel with large clean rooms”
kusuma sahid prince solo hotel gives you the right feeling of staying in the cultural heart of java almost next to the palaces of kraton solo and mangkunegaran. this hotel provides authentic javanese achitecture, clean and large rooms, nice gardens, an almost olympic size swimming pool and outstanding quality of indonesian and international breakfast. both the quality of the restaurant and its service are impeccable. the hotel is located in a very quiet area and yet close to all tourist attractions and shopping malls.

Sahid Kusuma Hotel in Solo City, Java, is on the whole a very good hotel. This may have something to do with the inborn Javanese attitude of reserved kindness and genuine politeness, but must also be a typical characteristic of the people serving here. The air-conditioned rooms are big and clean and the breakfast and dinners are perfect. Three consecutive evenings the hotel management created a perfect Javanese atmosphere with an 8 people strong gamelan orchestra playing on typically Javanese instruments in the open air.

I had gone to Solo to attend a conference and thought it would be convenient to stay at the same venue. The Kusuma Sahid hotel is obviously a very popular place for conferences as we saw several were scheduled to take place there, and the arrangements were well done. The rooms were large and well equipped and the food and snacks were excellent. But I must say the staff were very friendly and helpful which made up for the shortcomings of the rooms!

Nice Site Seeing base”
The hotel is a nice base to explore Solo; traditional type lobby and grounds, VERY central location but still quiet, nice to relax after a day of walking. Breakfast is plentyful. With choice of Continental or Indonesian Buffet. As has been said before: the hotel needs a make over. Unfortunately maintenance is really a problem with almost all hotels in Indonesia. However, our room was not too bad. It was clean and everything works. It is the small things like very old bathroom fittings, shower head praying in all directions but down. It was a Superior Room which was supposedly renovated in 2007 - but that renovation must have been limited to fresh paint. The Cabana rooms are located directly at the pool. Haven't seen the condition. It is confirmed, that the pool is open to the public (25.000 incl. drink) and used by schools after 15:00h So the Cabana Rooms may be quite noisy and with little privacy.

our bungalow was clean and everything worked which is quite rare in indonesia. the staff was very friendly. breakfast had a lot of choice. there is a large swimmingpool. the spacious garden was the best asset for me, a good place to relax after visiting hectic solo.

Lovely place with comforatable and large rooms”
The hotel has important historical significance yet it has all the modern amenities. The ambiance however is not hurried and gives the impression of a quiet and peaceful resort with the wide gardens, caged roosters and a hawk. The staff are very polite and accommodating. There is a nightly gamelan performance and it is well lighted at night. There is a wide variety to choose for the free breakfast from European, to American to Indonesian. The bathroom is somewhat old but the hot water tap always works. The management should do something about mosquitoes getting in the room as these have sneaked in from the gardens outside. Still I love this place and I should have stayed for another day!

Grand Old Hotel”
This is a grand old hotel with spacious grounds in a great location. The staff were friendly & helpful, the restaurant served good local food, and there’s a big swimming pool. It’s good value for money since it is sprawling and grand, though not so expensive since it is old & a bit worn. Our bungalow room was spacious with a nice sitting area and king sized bed. We were also fortunate to experience a large traditional Javanese wedding with gamelan and the manager even brought us in to experience the ceremony. Wonderful stay and experience!

Memorial place but”
I was late check-in about 8.30 pm and suppose to refresh by take shower than sleep tight. But I got surprized when I didn't find towels, so I have to ask by phone. It's like early check-in when room haven't ready yet. Room are large but properties are too old. TV didn't working and bathroom was very smell. Nice enough because it was very expensive hotel and the first five stars hotel in Solo City (Surakarta).

A lovely hotel! Only the rooms need a renovation. For 1 or 2 days stay is enough. It is wonderful to see the old glory. A lot of noise in the morning from children how are swimming.

pleasant stay”
i had a very pleasant stay, we got the corner room on the new building, its pretty quiet, only occasionally heard sounds from street outside but not loud. i like the spacious rooms and its strategic locations, there are plenty "tukang becak" outside ready to take you around the city with affordable price. the cons.. many mosquitos but its pretty much anywhere i go throughthe trip so its common thing. always bring mosquitos spray & cream if you travel in indonesia the shower need fixed.

Luxury with dimmed gloss”
The hotel definitely had better times before. Now everything is worn, dirty, bad smell, insects, shortcuts in electric outlets, stains on walls, leakage in toilet. Big swimming pool but with still water!, no circulation. Every evening a pale of chlorine is thrown in the water, so the water is weird green and haze. Locals pay 1.5 USD to swim there, but I wouldn't dare for 1500. The hotel is popular place for local wedding ceremonies so expect loud music, crying children and food remaining everywhere. Room is spacious with a terrace and two exits. But one shall share the room with ants, flies, roaches and other creatures. Room service ridiculously overpriced - cup of bad coffee - 3 USD. Airport transfer was not really free, I was surcharged for 20000 idr. The only point worth to stay was the breakfast, served in a beautiful restaurant, attentive stuff and huge selection of Indonesia delicatessen.

Nice lobby,strategic but disaster room, service”
I though Sahid Prince Hotel not suitable for 5 Star Hotel, I though 2 Star Hotel is enough, specially with room facilities & equipment (broke, old, danger), cleanliness (dirty) also room service not friendly. I got shower, the water flow just little, broken electricity equipment danger for Children. I'm not recommended to my friend to stay at Sahid Prince Hotel.

Read that this hotel has bad hot water, that was not an exaggeration. The hot water was just warm at best. The kids pool was green with algee but the main pool was ok. And if the hotel advertises free shuttle service they don't tell you that it is only offered if there are 5 or more guests needing transportation. The hotel is old and shows it's age. For the price, there are better choices within the area.

You pay what you get, it is affordable five star hitel. Staffs are very helpful, but It is an old hotel. I am not sure if it is appropriate as a five star hotel anymore.
