While an older hotel, it has been modernized. It is more boutique than large with many restaurants & gift shop. There are ample restaurants and shopping opportunities at Kyoto Station, plus a transportation hub to get to Kyoto sights.

The hotel staff are very friendly and speaks basic English well. The rooms are spacious and kept clean daily by housekeeping. If you would like to use luggage-free service, get the service from the hotel concierge as it is cheaper. The only small hiccup we faced is when we were sending our luggage to the next hotel, there was a small issue but it was resolved by the staff eventually. Overall it is a really comfortable stay that is value for money.

Nice bed and bathroom, very near kyoto station, walkable after you reached Kyoto by Shinkansen.. also save our time to travel to Nara, Arashiyama, and local Kyoto area.. Near Kyoto tower, malls and other shopping spots. Front desk very friendly, helped us to arrange luggage transfer to our next hotel. Recommended!

Excellent location, good breakfast”
Spacious rooms, would stay again for the right price. However, staff doesn’t understand English that well, as they seem to be mainly tailored towards local travellers. Breakfast has a wide selection, but quality isn’t impressive so select it for the convenience. When I stayed, they were doing this eco friendly house keeping which requires you to call the front desk before a certain time to clean your room, so that was a bit of a hassle. Otherwise, not a bad stay. Can’t complain about the location.

Great location on the quiet side of Kyoto station. Steps away from the station without traffic crossing. Prices can be quite high during peak seasons but off-peak prices are competitive with other hotels nearby. The room is very nicely furnished, and isolated well; good to get a stable sleep. Very nice and attentive staffs. The only improvement that I would like the hotel to add in the future is a small laundry facility to benefit transit and long stay travellers.

Beautiful hotel, we had a very large wonderful suite, the breakfast buffet that was included was fantastic! BUT there's really only the one restaurant and if you do NOT make reservations you will get stuck like me having to go back out after a long day of sightseeing to figure out a place to eat dinner. That was the worst!
