Excellent location, lovely rooms!”
Extremely pleased with the hotel. Location is fantastic, short walk to major Gion attractions, many nearby bars and restaurants. All important 7/11 around the corner too. Decor of the rooms was very nice, as was access to Apple TV facilities. My only suggestion would be if you enjoy sleeping in, to request a room on level 1 or above, not basement, as the basement rooms are below the restaurant, and in the mornings you can hear chairs being dragged throughout the breakfast service.

Stayed 5 nights over Sakura season and this hotel was incredible! Great location within a 5 minute walk to Gion and to the train station/bus stops. The staff was so gracious and friendly (and they have a couple people on staff who speak English for those not from Japan). They went above and beyond to ensure we would be absolutely satisfied with our stay (made room recommendations for our reservations) and they made my daughters birthday so special with origami animals and reserving a cake for us! The room was comfortable, quiet, dark. There’s massage services available after the long walks from touring Kyoto! And the public bath was beautiful and perfectly hot! We ate breakfast at the hotel daily (except not served on weekends) and it was delicious! And slightly different every day! We received some drink coupons and the bar area is very relaxing. Fresh ground/brewed Coffee is available all day in the lobby They had many COVID precautions, but it did not limit the comfort of our experience!!!

Great value, clean, close to many shops”
Cute and cozy hotel. Beautiful from the entrance to the lobby to the bar and to the room. The place really makes you feel like you are in Japan. The hotel location is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend this place if you come to Kyoto.

Very good location to major attractions ”
Can walk to most major attractions, including walking to shopping streets including Takashimaya, near to train station, near to food streets, convenience store nearby. Room is a bit small for the one we booked but very functional, including smart toilet seats and basic amenities. Modern design, nice and clean and comfortable. Only wish they could install a hook on the wall of the toilet to hang clothes then it would really be perfect!

BEST HOTEL STAY in Japan”
I've traveled all over Japan during my 2 week holiday, from tip to toe and Kyoto Granbell Hotel was the best stay, make sure you have the address written down in case you need to show a taxi driver as they will think its Granvia not Granbell, so I had to keep showing people where the address is. It has a beautiful and modern onsen, dark and calm, the breakfast buffet was delicious and catered to both japanese and western giving us an insight of what the actual japanese breakfast is like, the room was clean, the staff super friendly. I would definitely come here again, later on in our journey we had another hotel stay which ended up being shabby looking so we left and went to find another Granbell in that area, Granbell Shinjuku in Tokyo this place was also very friendly and accommodating and clean. Granbell is definitely a good company to stay with, on my next trip i'm going to book with Granbell for most of my stays in different citys.

Great Stay!”
You cannot beat the location of this hotel, right in the Ginza area. We arrived eat and they stored our luggage while we were shopping. Once we came back to check in they had taken our luggage up to our room already. We had the breakfast included and totally worth it! Japanese breakfast one day and next day large buffet. The room was great and so stylish. We enjoyed the free iced coffee in the lobby after shopping in the warm kyoto sunshine.

We stayed at Kyoto Granbell in order to be close to the historical sights of Kyoto. Needless to say, the Hotel was great, amazing staff, public bath access and spacious rooms. Perfect location for sight seeing.

Best Hotel in Kyoto for the Money”
I had an AMAZING stay here and highly recommend it. It is close to so much like the train station, food and temples. Plus they have a Geisha show that was an experience of a lifetime. The hotel staff was very helpful in recommending places to go and eat and spoke English. My room was VERY clean, with a huge (larger than King) comfortable bed, clean bathroom and Apple TV to boot. Perfect Place to stay in Kyoto!”
Cannot recommend this hotel more. I don't usually write reviews but felt Granbell deserved one. Its a perfect location in Gion (which is really the most beautiful part of Kyoto with the cobbled streets and Geishas walking by you if you are lucky enough on an evening!) with great restaurants and station round the corner. As an interior design wise feel they have done it beautifully, with a Japanese modern, eclectic mix. Also nice to have the 'public bath pool' downstairs after a long day. Staff also very helpful with us for items we forget which they have kindly posted. Only down side would say is the coffee from the coffee machine, but this is complimentary so really cant complain! Recommend to ALL friends to stay here when in Kyoto

wonderfully situated, beautifully designed, practicalluy perfect in every way. The staff is professional and accommodating, the rooms though not large are comfortable. the breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever had at a hotel and a lovely mix of Japanese specialties and more usual American or European dishes. I have only been to Kyoto once so I can't say I can compare to other hotels here but I would be happy to stay here again!

I love their location in Gion and their staff were so kind and very helpful whenever I needed help - they go extra miles for you. I especially loved their public hot bath to refresh my exhaustion from traveling. Highly recommend this hotel in Kyoto.

Recommended for a relaxing staycation!”
This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in Japan! The rooms are bigger than standard Japanese size hotels. There is a public bath the guests can enjoy freely and it was really nice and relaxing. The breakfast was also amazing! It was buffet type and there were many options. The location is very convenient as it is near at least 2 convenience stores, near the bus stop, and in the middle of Gion area.
