We decided to stay at Hotel 1898 as it is located on the most emblematic street in Barcelona - La Rambla close to the Plaza Catalunya (6 mins walk) where the City Tour Bus/Bus Turistic and Aerobús have their starting point stops; 1 min walk to Mercado de La Boqueria; 10 mins walk to the charming Gothic Quarter, or Barri Gòtic. Charming hotel, clean, wonderful personnel. We enjoyed pool and amazing breakfast experience at La Isabella on the roof top of the hotel. There is Starbucks coffee shop on the first floor of the hotel and gelato stand right in front of the entry to the hotel on La Rambla. We will most definitely stay at this hotel again on our next trip to Barcelona. We used Aerobús to get to and from the airport. It cost 5.90 Euro round trip per person, has free wi-fi, air conditioner, takes about 25 mins to get to the Plaza Catalunya from airport. Please make sure to leave early for airport as traffic to the airport can be congested.

Olivia Plaza hotel, was centrally located however it was just a left turn away from the la ramblas stretch. Infact we were very happy that it was not located in that stretch. As during the peak season the street la ramblas gets very crowded. So Olivia plaza is at a perfect location. All the staff members are very helpful and they helped us through out our trip. This hotel is close to every where all the shopping malls, restaurants, the hop on and hop off buses and the airport buses are just the street across. Even a taxi ride to various areas such as the spanish village or the picasso museum are not very expensive if there is four of you sharing a cab (Approx 3 euros per person). However the restaurant staffs were a bit slow at service. Housekeeping staffs are alert as we had a stain bedsheet and we asked the housekeeper to change it and the change was done immediately. Overall very satisfied with our stay and we also recommended this hotel to another fren. Oh we also got an upgrade with a nice view for free.

Don't be fooled by its antiquated exterior. Housed in a building which was built in 1917 (I think), the hotel is a gem. I was concerned when I saw its old exterior and blue, tacky banner. I was so wrong. How pleasantly surprised i was to step into a contemporary lobby. Our room was very spacious. Even though our room was on the first floor and looked out to a busy street, it was very well insulated from any noise. Plush towels and bathrobes, and bedroom slippers are quintessential to an indulgent hotel stay and you get this at Regina at a very reasonable price. You can easily walk to La Rambla which is the main strip and take leisurely stroll to L'Exiample. Would have been great if it offered complimentary bottles of water which I think would have been a lively gesture. Pillows were too soft for our liking. This was our fave hotel throughout our four-city trip.

The Hotel was located a mintue from Catalunya Placa and 2 minutes away from La Rambla .. the hotel was very clean, the room was decent in size for European hotels and the staff were very helpful especially a guy called Marc at the reception and another blonde haired guy i dont remember his name were very helpful, kind and very informative. The staff at the reception speak fluent english which was very good and easy to communicate and another plus is thqt there is a taxi point right outside the hotel in which almost 24 hrs there wete taxis available. Also, metro and bus stations were a minute walk from the hotel and also, the main tour bus location is a minute away.

Stayed 4 nights in a Deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the little street just off La Rambla & were extremely pleased with our choice. The hotel has made a real effort to retain some of the original features, but the rooms are modern & a good size, and the beds were about the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Despite being close to La Rambla there wasn't too much street noise. Within easy walking distance of La Rambla, the harbour & the Gothiic Quarter, as well as Pl Catalunya, which is the best place to pick up a bus to almost anywhere else you may want to go.

Very close to Las Ramblas and close, quaint hotel with a great balcony with a table and chairs. Standard room with 3 twin beds, a closet and bathroom. The taxi did take us to the hotel, but it is a walking small street, so we just got lucky, so be prepared to roll your luggage (but it's not far) from Las Ramblas. You are steps away from the main strip (Las Ramblas) with everything within walking distance. Clean, nice place before a cruise. I would recommend it. I don't think there is a tv, but who needs it for a short stay. Staff very friendly.

Hostal Operaramblas was pretty ideal. It is in a great location down a small street off La Rambla. The price was excellent for a large room with a queen bed, single bed, and a balcony. The checkout time was 11am but the front desk provided us with a locked storage space to keep our luggage while we spent the remainder of the day in Barcelona. The only downfalls: the street was slightly noisy in the morning (with some lady singing at the top of her lungs each morning promptly at 9:30am), and there was a slight issue with the shower drain. It was not clogged, but seemed like the plumbing could not handle a lot of showers in the morning. One morning I got out of the stand up shower to realize half of our room was flooded. We cleaned it up with towels and the front desk provided us with new ones. Overall, great stay for the cost!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is at the end of La Rambla at a quiet enclave, facing a small park and adjacent to the sea. Our room faces a small park and I can see the sea from the balcony. The reception team are helpful to us in booking our cab and giving us directions. They also supplied me a kettle although they took a 15euro deposit which was refunded to me when I returned it. The hotel is close to La Rambla where there are many eateries. We have good breakfasts at Cuppucino and Via70 daily. Don’t miss the market there call La Boqueria. Off La Rambla, you can wonder into the old quarter and get lost into the alleys for great shopping! All the key attractions are also within walking distance!

I can't vreccommend the H10 Metropolitan highly enough! We had the most fantastic time. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly, extremely helpful and efficient. They helped us to celebrate my son's 21 birthday, providing us with Bucks Fizz at breakfast and complimentary fizz and chocolates in our room. The hotel itself is lovely with 2 restful pool areas complete with sunloungers. Our bedrooms were quiet, very well appointed and the balconies lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers perhaps the best in any hotel I have stayed in. The hotel is in an excellent location close to Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas. There are loads of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The airport bus is only 5 minutes walk away too.

Great hotel right in the centre, only about 100 metres off Las Ramblas and close to a metro station. The room was clean, unfortunately twin beds rather than the double that was booked though. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The only real fault I could find is that the pool on the roof is tiny. Great hotel for the price that we paid. The area is a lot safer than I thought it would be, just keep your wits about you and you’ll be fine.

Stayed at this hotel for a week in Barcelona. It is situated extremely close to the Liceu metro station on La Ramblas, close the La Boqueria market and has lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The room was modern, clean and quiet, with everything I needed for my stay. There was also a terrace outside (I was on the top floor). Staff were polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location at the top of LA rambla. Hotel rooms are very quiet and clean. We love the fact that there was a kitchenette in the room. Not that we used it much. But the refrigerator came in. there is intermittent construction in the daytime. But it seems to stop by 6. Wasn't too big a deal as we were out site seeing. That would be the only complaint. If you want to stay near the center of the action, it would be hard to find a better value for your dollar.

I had a really good experience in Hesperia Ramblas. A small hotell between La Rambla and the area "Raval", close to La Boqueria. Concidering the location, the rooms were very, very quiet. Not the most fantastic view from our windows, but picturesque and what we the second day realized was one of the entrances to the Boqueria-restaurants. Wonderful staff, clean and modern rooms. We were a company of five, including two children 11 and 13 years of age. Free wi-fi in the rooms, wich the children loved. Breakfastbuffé was good, with both readymade bikini-sandwiches, toast, cheese, pastries, fruit, good assortment of teas (one of them was my favourite chinese "puh err tea")and strong coffee. I can recommend this hotel to everyone!

The hotel is located a few minutes' walk from Plaza Catalunya and is very convenient for the airport bus which stops just in front of El Corte Ingles on the square. La Rambla and the old town are practically on the doorstep and the hotel is in the centre of the main shopping area. Even the Apple shop is just a few minutes' walk away - a great help when we had a small problem with our I-pad. The staff on reception were always friendly and helpful and always ready to assist with queries about local transport, places to visit etc. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable and offer excellent value for money. An added bonus is the free wi-fi. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and one place not to miss for excellent pinchos is Txapela on nearby Passeig de Gracia. The long-established restaurant Pitarra, well-known amongst locals, is a great place to try Catalan specialities at a reasonable price and is less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel in the old quarter. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit - it would be difficult to find a better location at such a reasonable price.

Best place for you to fully enjoy the vibrance of La Rambla - they have got a classy balcony for the rooms facing La Rambla. The best thing about this hotel is certainly the 24-hour self-service food bar. They've got soft drinks, beer, frozen yogurt, butterfly puffs, fruits, to name but a few. They even serve unlimited parma ham for breakfast! Another great thing about this hotel is its service - all of the staff are very helpful and passionate. Special thanks to Vivian (hope we get your name right) who helped and welcomed us. She is very patient and made our stay very enjoyable. Just one thing for improvement - they can provide thicker duvets as we have to shut the window and turn on the air-con (otherwise it will be too noisy to open the window facing La Rambla at night).

I loved the hotel. location is more than perfect cause you hardly need any transportation to go to most places. you can walk. we only needed the bus tour to get to far away places. close to shopping and 10-15 minutes walk to the beach. front desk helped with everything, including getting us a taxi to teh airport, showing us directions to Barcelona attractions. the street the hotel is on (La Rambla) is the most alive street in Barcelona. Hotel room was almost perfectly insualted to sound. we can clearly tell the difference when you open one of the windows. the bed was very comfortable and the pillows are awesome. we had our 1 year old son with us and everyone in the hotel was being extra nice to him and made him laugh all the time. these small touches of kindness make you wanna go back.

we stayed just one night before our flight back to Asia and the hotel was excellent. we arrived early for a tour.. hotel took our bags..checked us in while we ran off looking around Barcelona and when we returned...everything was in place.. the hotel front desk is super awesome helped my wife with high water for her special health tea.. and we're always willing to help. Rooms were small but well equipped. The Nespresso machine was a dream and location was the biggest advantage being at the Catalunya square area and at the top of Las Ramblas

We love to travel. And one of our best way to know the place is by walking and jogging around the area. Its one place where everything is accessible- EL corte Ingles, La Rambla , La sagrada familia etc. We checked in around 10 in the evening of oct 26, and the guy whom we talked to is very accomodating. Room is very clean and the food for breakfast is great and healthy!

We stayed in Apart 108 hotel during three nights, we have to say the hotel is in an excellent location, close to the most important places in Barcelona, beside a metro station, la Boqueria, Plaza Cataluna, etc. In general we liked everything, apartment was clean, good areas, the staff was amazing, always ready to help with a big smile, restaurants is not an issue, you can find everything quite close. The only thing that can be on the downside for some travelers, is the noise due to the proximity to La Rambla, for us was not a problem, but people has to be aware of this.

The hostel is located off the famous La Rambla street. We took an aerobus from the airport to get off at Plaza Catalunya and walk along La Rambla street to find the hotel right on the street. The decor is quite nice while the room is very tiny, but there is a small balcony where we can enjoy watching people walking along La Rambla street. The downfall is it's very noisy at night since there are many hookers in front of the hotel every night. We can hear noise all night long and can't get much sleep though. The breakfast is however comforting us in the morning with choices of breads, deli, fruit juice and yogurt.

This may have been the best hotel we stayed in during our 5 country, 7 city European tour. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was modern and clean, and it was very close to Las Ramblas, La Boqueria market, and the gothic quarter. A lot of other sites were also within walking distance. The room we stayed in was also quite large by European standards. The free breakfast is good, and they allow you to have an early breakfast if you need to checkout before 8am. There is also free Wi-Fi with your stay at hotel curious. This hotel is very close to the Liceu stop on Line 3 of the Barcelona metro system. There are also a lot of restaurants nearby. I will most likely stay here again the next time I'm in Barcelona.

Took my mum 86, mother in law 84, sister in law 63. Upgraded to deluxe room. The room was spotless, lovely little balcony which was great for people watching. Room had tea, coffee, free soft drinks in fridge, safe & toiletries. We overlooked La Rambla on the 2nd floor. When we closed the French doors we could hear slight traffic noise but nothing to keep us awake. We certainly couldn't hear any people noise. The location of the hotel is excellent right in the middle of La Rambla, opposite Placa Riel. We arrived at 10.00am not expecting our rooms to be ready but we're delighted when we were told they were. The staff were very pleasant and even came to sort out a problem with our safe at 1 in the morning. Would highly recommend this hotel, had a lovely time.

Very central just off las Ramblas, secure, clean, not noisy even though it’s among the hustle and bustle of the city, nice design in the apartment, well equipped, nice staff and were even gifted a holiday treat from the company!. Only cons for me personally would be a very small bathroom (not much more than a meter wide), if you have a car it’s outrageously expensive to park close to the apartment but that’s not the company’s fault, just a note in case you have car. Overall I’d book there again!

The hotel itself was good but the shower and location was bad. The shower lacked pressured and there was no shower screen. This meant each time you have a shower you'd use basically all towels provided to dry the wet puddles. The bathroom world forever be wet making activities within unpleasant. The location was right near La Ramblas and the hotel has about 20 metres of rebels trying to mumble and sell you stuff at night time. They even hung out there throughout the day. Also La Ramblas is pretty bad for authenticity in food, shopping and hospitality. It's over priced and the 'tapas' is not tapas at all. Coming from Madrid the Spanish food on La Ramblas was not impressive. We would stay forged up in the area near Metro Catalunya.
