Stayed here for a visit to Ijen Crater. This hotel is approximately 16km away from Paltuding (35 min by car) Got 2 pools, Big/huge rooms, enough to cater 4 adults. Breakfast is a bit dull, but the staff are helpful, and most important good starting to point to visit to Ijen. You can drive to Paltuding, no need to hire jeep as offered. Quite a modern properties and amenities in the room. Book early, as it can quite pricey near the weekend which is normal

It will be very hard for me to review this hotel without some bias because by boyfriend proposed to me there. But the fact that he chose Ijen Resort to propose it testatment to how stunning and romantic this hotel is. It is worth noting that the road up to the resort from the main road is atrocious though so if you are getting a taxi from the train station then make sure it is quite a good one to withstand the 4 wheel drive track that the road becomes for the last 4 km leading up to the resort.

We arrived at night around 7pm they gave us two old rooms and I found it quite isolated And the mosquitos net was very dirty with lot of insects. My husband asked for another rooms and they gave us two newer room with cheramic tiles which was much much better. Dont know why they dont gave us this newer room from the start since no one else in the hotel. I found the clean standard of the hotel is very low but the staff were very happy to do the cleaning once you asked. The food was good but not always available in full menu.

Best hotel in Banyuwangi, not just because its location, hotel design, hotel room design and spacious, the pool, the rice paddy in front of our room, but most importantly is the staff service and the hospitality of the owner. Who would imagine they give you a free pick-up from Banyuwangi city, a free transport during our stay, and a free drop off to my next destination in Banyuwangi city (20 km from the hotel). The owner also gave us a quick tour throughout several tourism destination near the hotel. Awesome, thanks Pak Tjipto. Overall, this is a perfect transit hotel if you want to climb Ijen (18km to Ijen), also a perfect hotel if you want to take a good rest in the middle of kampoeng and rice paddy with the view of Mount Ijen. Highly recommended.

People come to Ijen to see the blue flame and the beautiful crater but the experience wouldn’t have been complete without staying in this home stay. It is located in a small village populated by 40% mining families. With the help of Supri, the organizer of our stay, we got to learn about the history of the village, about sulfur mining and get to actually stay in the home of a family in the village. We were treated like family and a part of the community. We got to play soccer with kids in the street, and walk amongst beautiful rice paddies, see waterfalls and better yet, be treated with warmth and kindness that we never could’ve expected . My recommendation is to see Ijen but also experience this beautiful village, stay at least two nights and embrace all it has to offer . Supri made sure all of our needs were met, answered all of our questions and expertly organize our tour of Ijen. Supri did all of this with an honest desire to help us and the community.

We stayed at the 2 bedrooms bungalow, it has 1 queen bed located on the ground and 1 twin bed located upper floor plus 2 extra beds. Big terrace as a seating area. The place is cozy surrounding by river, fruit trees and has large garden. The host it self is very helpful, and hospitable. Breakfast was good , serve Indonesian , western breakfast and choices of fruits. Drinking water is available for free includes coffes and tea and kettle. The place is about 45minutes drive from ketapang ferry port and about 30 minutes from the city of Banyuwangi. And about 40 minutes drive to paltuding ijen crater ( where you enter for ijen hikes) Cons, has only 1 shower located on the ground floor, internet wifi available only in the lobby, water pressure is very low , limited hot water.

Great location for going to Mt Ijen, b eautiful view over the valley from rooms and restaurant, and nice quiet environment. Good rooms and bathrooms. No pool, spa or gym (although the pool is under construction), so not much to do while in the hotel. Too quiet in the restaurant, as I seemed to be the only guest. Good food, but no wine or alcoholic drinks whatsoever, only beer. This could be the perfect place for well-off western travelers, but needs an extra effort and attention to customer needs and expectations.
