We had a great time staying at Matsuya Lodge. The location was ideal - right in the centre of town, close to many restaurants and cafes. We also enjoyed their breakfast and onsen. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again!

Amazing stay, I felt so warmth and welcoming by Matsuya-San and his wife. Those were awesome and delicious Japanese style breakfast! Centrally located within walking distance from the ski resort! Definitely would come back again!

Fantastic Ski Lodge”
Nothing fancy, but this hotel is clean, warm, and close to the downtown area. It's the perfect place to crash after a day of skiing. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the mountain. The hotel is set up like a dorm - all the bathroom and sinks are down the hall. There's a public bath on the ground floor. Friendly staff, they helped us rent equipment and buy lift tickets. Great location - lots of bars and restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

Reasonable value ryokan”
The ryokan is clean and has a good hot bath, though the rooms are a bit old fashioned, more so than I had expected. The ryokan is in a very good location, about ten minutes walk to the main gondola. I'd recommend this place if you can get a good deal on the room rate, and you don't mind budget style furnishings.
