The hotel facilities isn't good”
The service of the staffs is not bad (Except, the receptionist), when I show up at the hotel and her face wasn't friendly and I said I booked with non-smoking room but isn't ready yet, so I got smoking room (alright). Well, facilities isn't good. The room is smells not good (aka cigarette smoke), the bed sheet have a lot of spots and musty smell, pillow case was ripped, dusty on the table, doorknob of the bathroon was broken, amenities isn't completed (only have toothbrush and liquid soap), bath towel and curtain was ripped and yellowish (dust-cloth look a like). Also that, the atmosphere in the bedroom was horrible. Around at 1am, the electricity is lights out (really, are u joking?!). But located of the hotel is strategic. Well, expectation and reality bout this hotel is so different what u see or maybe I got a bad room. This is ma honest review :)

Good location”
The foyer is great, but the room was dirty (e.g. mud footprints on the bathroom floor,). Bed linen was yellowed and the towel so worn out that it kept ripping. They failed to restock the room (e.g. no toilet paper) Pre-booked yet check in takes forever. Don't take a seat while they sort it out, or they will just work on other business not yours. I don't speak Indonesian, and for such a big business it amazed me that no one I dealt with even had a small bit of English. English is of course not required. Perhaps a caring management could offer after hours English or French teaching as a staff bonus, perhaps. Location is fantastic if you want to see the sights.

Shower was broken and had to get the maintenance. Safe deposit box didn’t work. Mini fridge not cooling. Garbage still in the garbage cans when I went into the room.

Super dirty place”
I booked three nights. I left anyways. You cannot stay there if you like it clean. They showed me 5 rooms. Each one of them was super dirty. The beds had stains from who knows what and havent been washed. The walls, the carpets... everything dirty and the rooms smelt funny. Nothing like in the pictures. I have no idea how this place can get a good rating.

Good, standard no-frills hotel”
M Regency appears to be an older hotel that was recently renovated. It is popular with Indonesians, I didn't see any other foreigners in the hotel. The hotel, including room, was clean, but there wasn't much in terms of amenities. On arrival, there was no floor mat for the bathroom. The room wasn't cleaned after the first night. I asked for the room to be cleaned after the 2nd night. Towels were replaced and a floor mat was provided but toiletries such as shower gel were not replenished. We had to ask for the WIFI password, and laundry was not delivered within one day although it was turned in before 10 am. Breakfast was supposed to be available until 10am, but there was nothing left after 8 am. One had to eat breakfast before 7am to get anything to eat. I don't think there is much choice in Makassar so this hotel is okay for a short stay.

Amazing n lovely hotel in Makassar. I always travel to makassar and have stayed at many good hotel in Makassar include some 5 stars htl. However, this one is really different and outstanding in its service. Excellent Service , excellent and friendly staff, very good location, very good food. They upgrade my room to an excellent room with "Free Upgrade". and also put me on a new renovated room the first day which is not yet for sale as there is really no htl room avaialble all over Makasaar and they call all their network but no avail, cause of a visit by President RI to Makassar, furthermore they give me half price from the sales price coz there is toilet renovation is under progress. They really all out to service and help the customers who are in needs. I am really appreciate for FO Manager and team so much for their help. Keep up the goodwork guys. Many greatful thanks.

I am a bit surprised knowing makassar has such a lovely hotel like this. I'm regularly travel to makassar and have tried almost all of hotel including the 5 stars. But what can i say, it was beyond my highest expectation. New building, clean and friendly staff. And yes, they upgrade my room as well. Keep up the good work guys!

It's value of money is the best”
M-Regency Hotel is quite strategically located. It's nearby Losari beach, the floating mosque, Fort Rotterdam, and the Kayangan Island port. You could easily find restaurants in the surrounding area, mainly seafood restaurants. The popular seafood restaurant "Lae Lae" is just 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The transportation from the hotel is also available, like taxi "Blue Bird" and pedicab, in front of the hotel. There are a handful of souvenir shops within walking distance. The hotel price is fairly cheap, compared to other hotels in that area. The value of money is great. I liked the breakfast provided by the Metropolis Restaurant in the ground floor. It's agreed with my taste. And what I liked best was their pancake with maple syrup. Their staff are quite good, especially the doormen and the cleaning service people. They're pretty friendly. My only complaint was just the missing bathub plug. What's the point of having bathub when it didn't even have the plug to block the bathub hole, to inhibit the water flow to the sewer so you can soak in the warm water? Ohh..and another inconvinience was that they didn't provide hairdryer in the room, while in agoda it was stated that they have hairdryer facility in each room. I had to borrow it from the receptionist eventually. But so far, I was satisfied during my stay there.

Fast response by the staff, clean room and nice location. Just simply my favorite hotel in Makassar! They upgraded my room free of charge as well. Just enjoyed every time I stayed in here. The only thing lacking is swimming pool tho. If only they had one.

The M Regency hotel is newly renovated hotel in Makassar. The room is good and clean. The one that disappointed me was the staff performance. They avoid my request for a fried eggs, and also they very slow for the room service. Need improvements there.

Affordable and quite clean”
I had to book hotel for 2 day stay while still in another city. Read some reviews and was glad that this hotel could provide comfortable and clean room at affordable price. The beach in not too far, just few minutes walking. Don't miss the sunset at Losari beach while you're in Makassar.

Good for leisure travel, not for business”
I stayed in an updated suite, and the room was great. Hotel staff very helpful and responsive. Unfortunately, this was not a great hotel for a business traveller. The hotel wi-fi is programmed to cut out/pulse every 20 seconds, so I was constantly being dropped. To conserve energy/money, the hotel doesn't have lights or air conditioning on in the new renovated wing. So the hallway is dark and about 30 degrees. Upon entery to my room, it was 32 degrees. 5 hours later, it was still 27. Until the hotel decides to cool its hallways and rooms and offer consistent wi-fi experience, I won't be back. Which is too bad, because the room and value for money were great. Probably good for relaxed vacationers, but not good for business travellers.
