Location is wonderful ! Next to Borobudur ”
Close to borubodur. It is govt-owned and included entrance fee to the temple. The bad part is it doesn’t cover Prambanan temple so would take your to hire govt car to go out to Prambanan . Otherwise, all the staffs are wonderful!!!

Magical and a dream come true”
Perfect! Very safe and secure, can not get any better location, gold star services, facilities and all the perk that came with it : free 2 days pass to Borobudur , Breakfast to die for ( one of the best, believe me on this one ) as well be able to enjoy every meal with background of Borobudur temple just like a dream spot. free afternoon tea with cake/snack, free Movie about Borobudur, free pick up at any point if Borobudur if needed. Most important is free access to be in Borobudur Complex early as you like for morning walk around 5:30 ( as we did) is mind blowing to see the sun rise from every angle of Magestic Borobudur don’t have to be on top of Borobudur to enjoy this glorious moment . Enjoy every moment like to have Borobudur to your self soak it up….. a piece if haven. ( should be 5* ) Seem like I get pay to give this review , please we are just lucky enough to book this place by any chance. Just want to say Thank you to Manohara Resort. Come !! And approves it yourself.

Best for sunrise tour at Borobudur unfortunately not during my visit ”
I booked this place based on previous reviews that this was the only hotel inside the Temple. True enough this is within a relaxing walking distance. Unfortunately I came in June 2022 when the Borobudur temple is closed temporarily for preservation and conservation efforts. No visitors were allowed atop the temple but were only allowed within the park grounds. Having said that, sunrise viewing is also not allowed. Therefore, my 2 nights here wasn’t worth the money I spent for an accommodation that is a bit far from everything else. Everything else - quite nice, but I could’ve just stayed somewhere else where there are other people I could’ve mingled with. Breakfast was really good except on June 17th (on my birthday! Sadly) they had to secure the place for the German President arriving that day. So we were not allowed to roam around and breakfast was a lousy buffet and fast because they had to move things around for the VIP.

The cottege directly positioned to view Borobudur. So sirene and green. Good for people who would like to spend their time in the cottege chilling. Would be better if the hotel start offering other facilities like pool and gym to complement the visit

Relaxed luxury -- stellar service”
Without a doubt, the best thing about our stay at the Manohara was this: it was virtually free! The Agoda internet rate more than equals four entry fees into the Borobudur temple -- and this is what we received from the hotel. We (two of us) arrived in mid-afternoon; the Manohara includes entry to the temple for that afternoon (up till 5:00pm), and again for the next day (from 6:00am). Purchasing our own entry tickets at "foreign" rates would have cost more than the hotel. We stayed just the one night, but it was the most luxurious stay of our 2 weeks in central Java. The staff is attentive, pleasant, helpful and informative -- and still unintrusive. The room was clean and fresh (4-star?), the grounds quiet and well-kept. It was the only night of our trip where we didn't need to sleep under a mosquito net... The hotel provides an informative 40-minute video that greatly enhanced our understanding of the site. You can watch it on the in-room TV, or in the hotel's theater (if the comfy chairs don't put you to sleep). The included breakfast provides local and "western" dishes, and they didn't seem to mind that we tried them all -- including the heaps of fresh fruit. We also had a quiet dinner in the outdoor pavilion: soothing gamelan music (live), and an excellent meal at reasonable prices (Rp25,000 for a typical dish -- warungs would be cheaper, but I doubt a restaurant in the area would be [Sept 2012]). We would gladly stay again, but of course their guests are there for one reason only: the easy access to Candi Borobudur. For us, it might be a once-in-a-lifetime visit; but if the temple calls again, we'll book at the Manohara for our stay.

perfect location at the steps of Borobudur”
Everyone comes to Magelang for one thing, Borobudur Temple, and therefore there is simply no better choice than the Manohara! The location is unbeatable as it sits literally in the backyard of Borobudur Temple. You can see the temple from almost everywhere on the grounds of the hotel. The rooms are clean and very well done in a Javanese style. Breakfast was included in the booking through Agoda and it was a very large buffet spread. Also included was a pass to visit Borobudur Temple during normal hours of operation which I believe starts at 6am. The hotel can also arrange transportation for trips back to Yogjakarta or else where. They also rent bicycles for only around $2 a day if you would like to ride a bike around the town or visit the two other temples only a few kilometers away. Overall a wonderful the best place to stay in Magelang.

Stay here if you really want to explore Borobudur!”
This is my 3rd stay are Manohara. Every time I want to visit Borobudur, I make sure rooms are available at Manohara before I book my air tickets. In my opinion, you should stay here if you want to explore Borobudur. This gives the option of exploring Borobudur at a leisurely pace and visiting it multiple times in a day -- avoiding the heat in mid afternoon. As free access to Borobudur is included in the stay, this makes the rooms excellent value for money. (Admission for 2 would have cost you US$40 if you are not staying in Manohara). The room is very comfortable and there is TV with English cable channels. Wifi is also pretty good. The restaurant also serves very good food at inexpensive prices. There are mosquitoes, so insect repellent will be helpful.

Beautiful hotel and right next to Borobudur!”
I had a very good experience with Manohara Hotel. For close to 2 months prior to my trip, I've been emailing their customer support to ask for tips, to clarify things etc. Vida was excellent, prompt and helpful. Kudos to him. Manohara Hotel was really right beside Borobudur! Though a little pricey, the Sunrise and Sunset packages were worth the money because we manage to enjoy Borobudur before and after the crowd came in. We took the 30 minute elephant safari tour (IDR 250, 000 each). We went up to Dagi Hill and had a great view of Borobudur in the distance. I'd highly recommend anyone who wishes to see the magnificence and splendor of Borobudur to stay at Manohara Hotel.

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL, CENTRAL”
MY STAY AT MANOHARA HOTEL WAS MOST PLEASANT. HOTEL WAS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED, VERY SERENE PLACE TO RELAX, SPRAWLING GROUNDS TO TAKE WALKS IN, 1 MIN WALK TO THE FAMOUS BOROBUDUR TEMPLE N WALKING DISTANCES TO NEARBY RESTAURANTS. OVERALL A MOST FULFILLING STAY ESPECIALLY WITH BOROBUDUR PRACTICALLLY AT OUR DOORSTEP, ROOMS WERE LARGE WITH PATIO WITH GOOD BEDS AND CLEAN LINENS N TOWELS.A 5 STAR RESORT FOR A STEAL. WILL DEFINITELY REVISIT BOROBUDUR AND STAY ONLY AT MANOHARA HOTEL. WILL RECOMMEND MANY FRIENDS TOO.

Very friendly staffs, always smiling. Location is best if you want to visit Borobudur. We even received the best welcome drink with cold wet towel to freshen ourselves up. Buffet was good, not great but good . Best is their service and location. Room is well prepared and clean too. Will visit again for sure. Thank you manohara! I would like to especially compliment the aunt that welcome us at the entrance. Her smile gave such warmth and sincerity, 1st impression counts a lot. She can't speak English but she so courteously apologise and try to communicate with us and when we ask her question and that effort itself is very appreciated.thank you for making us feel at home manohara. And of coz to Borobudur, you are a true blessing and enchantment indeed.

Wonderful and peaceful with breathtaking views .”
We had a great stay at Manohara Hotel. We also took the Borobudur Sunrise tour which was the highlight of our visit and since it was very early we were able to take lots of photos even though the weather was not on our side... was very misty... while going back to the hotel at around 7.30 am we saw the crowds going up the Borobudur and felt very lucky to have taken the Sunrise tour..The staff at the Manohara Hotel are very friendly and helpful.

Great in everything beside the location to city”
Good in everything in this hotel, good local food, attentive and good staff attitude with fluent English, wonderful sunrise for Borobudur, fantastic chauffeur named Dodo with great attitude, clean & comfortable hotel room. However, the charges of hiring a chauffeur is fairly expensive as there's no other transportation u can get in the manohara hotel. Pls be aware to buy whatever souvenir u want at the attraction place u go, as u can hardly be able to find it else where. For instance, buy souvenirs for Prambanan at Prambanan & Borobudur at Borobudur (BARGAIN!!). Yogyakarta only sell products related to yogyakarta (not Borobudur or Prambanan), skip this if possible (not a pleasant one). If not u can still buy it at the airport at a sligthly higher price.

It is a good location to stay at Manohara Hotel if you want to join the next day early morning sunrise tour at Borobudur. It has a promotion price for the guess who stay in the hotel. Beside that stay in here is no need to buy the entrance fee for Borobudur, it is included in the hotel rate and you can entry to Borobudur anytime from 6am to 5pm, except before 6am for the sunrise tour. The staffs are nice and helpful. The room is very large and the bed is comfortable. Although the location is a bit far from Yogjakarta city but it is worth.

Great hotel in front of great temple”
manohara hotel has the greatest location, right in front of borobudur. room is quite big, although the bed is rather small. the staff is very friendly, room is clean and tidy, enviroment is great. food in the restaurant is very delicious, the price is not too expensive with big portion. we really have a great time there and will definitely come back to stay there. if you're looking for a place to relax, feel peace you should come to manohara hotel.

Great location and tropical surrounding”
The Manohara hotel is located directly across the Borobudur temple, allowing direct access to the Borobudur complex and stunning views of the temple. Great PLace to Stay When Visiting Bodobudur”
my friends and i booked two twin rooms at the manohara hotel because it seemed the very best place to spend the night during our visit to borobudur. our rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and the hotel staff were friendly and efficient. our dawn visit to borobudur was utterly spectacular - the highlight of our visit to central java. i have made several visits to this amazing temple complex, but never has its magic and majesty been more apparent. i have no hesitation in recommending the manohara hotel to other young singles like myself. it really is a great place to spend a night or two.

Highly recommended hotel for Borobudur!!”
I stayed for 2 nights for Borobudur and had a precious time. If you really want to spend a lot of time for Borobudur, I would strongly recommend this hotel because this hotel is the only one hotel located inside the Borobudur heritage site. So you can visit Borobudur unlimitedly without a ticket. Tickets are included in the room rate. Borobudur is just a few minutes walk from all rooms. The hotel also offers sunrise tour which starts at 4:30 am (maybe depends on season) and it is so easy to access Borobudur if you stay here. (＋） ・Excellent location ・Friendly and helpful staff ・Live traditional music in the lobby ・Price at the restaurant is slightly higher than local restaurants, but is still acceptable （ー） ・Wifi is not available in the room, only in the lobby and there is a lot of bugs especially at night ・Audio guide about Borobudur couldn't be seen in the room when I stayed.

Great Location hotel”
the hotel locates very near borobudur and everybody who stays at manohara can enter borobudur from 6 am to 5 pm for free. the hotel itself is in good design both public area and room. the guest room decoration is a bit old, but clean and tidy . hotel staffs are nice and friendly. you can enjoy free wifi but have to reconnect in 5 or 10 minutes of using. breakfast serves from 6.30 am, try beef sausages if you can have beef. it's yummy!
