The receptionist from Bulgaria is awesome! Professional, easy to solve the enqueries. The housekeeper uses to make tidy my room each day & provides new towels for a shower ! We don't exchange towels or clean up for consecutive nights.”
When I complained about this, they only claimed to be justified by their own misunderstanding that was completely different from the truth. Even if the customer explained that it was not true, he had no intention of listening. This is the first hotel in my life with this attitude.

Perfect and affordable Barcelona accommodation ”
The Martinval Hostal/Hotel is a perfect place to stay in Barcelona. It is 10 minutes walk to Las Rambla and the Sagrada Familia. Heaps of restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We walked to the nearby subway station about 7 minutes away and caught the train to the airport for €4 each. Barcelona is a wonderful city. We will definitely stay at the Martinval next time we visit.

Good place in heart of the city ”
Martinval was a great place to stay, eixample is very close to the Centre and we walked just about everywhere. There are also 3 metro stops nearby. The room was comfortable and clean, though it would have been nice if there was a mirror in the room. The bathroom was kept clean. The staff were friendly and the 24hour reception desk is very helpful

Amazing Barcelona Experience”
I went to Barcelona with my partner for 3 days. At arrival they were very nice and explained us a lot about the city. Las rambles were on a 10 minute walk distance and Plaza de Catalunya was just 15 minutes away. On our way to Las Ramblas there were many nice coffee stops where you can have a little bite. I would really recommend you walking these distances. Our rooms got cleaned every day (we also got fresh towels / bath gel / shampoo) and everything was very tidy. The cleaning staff was very friendly and flexible. It is a beautiful property with a nice, cute, old school elevator . I would really recommend this place and I would definitely return.

Nice, clean and quiet hostel ”
We stayed here 5 nights in double standard room with own bathroom. You cannot get this quiet hostel in Barcelona anywhere. Room is big enough and clean. We even had own terrace in the midle of two buildings. Couple of metro stations near. 15minutes walk to airport bus.

Great location walking distance to attractions and transportation, but still in a quiet area (not like staying on La Rambla). Staff was friendly, room was clean, nice little balcony. It was a bit pricey, but going rates in Barcelona are generally expensive for what they offer in my opinion.

All round nice place”
Very nice place considering it's a hostel. Lovely clean room and linen changed regularly. Very helpful and friendly staff. I would have preferred a room with a street/outside view as our double room just had a frosted glass window looking into a small outside space in the centre of the building. Room was very close to reception and opposite a room with a water and vending machine and was really quite noisy. I still had a very nice stay there.

Value for money”
I booked the hotel for my dad and brother,who stayed there for a weekend. It is nicely located near Passaig de Gracia, so the city centre is just 5 min walk from the hotel. The entire area is lovely and safe. The hotel is located in a residentital building, so don't be confused if you don't find the name of the hotel until you get to the entrance of the building. The room was light, spaciasious and super clean. It was indeed a high value for money. Would defiantly recommend it for city-breaks.

Great quieter location within walking distance to the hub of tourist attractions”
Lovely hotel, friendly/helpful staff and clean rooms. Towels changed daily which included a little sweet surprise on our bed every day. Powerful shower with constant hot water. Especially loved the old quirky lift. Nice area within walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. Some lovely little cafes/restaurants surrounding the hotel also. Lovely stay. 😁

I love the location!! But our room could accommodate two people instead of one. We could have gotten just 2 rooms instead of 3 but the hotel gave us three rooms, one each. So in that aspect, my rating of the hotel was affected.
