Recent Visit”
Nice little hostel within walking distance of Metro lines. Stayed for a week and the A/C broke in my room the 2nd day I was there so room was like a sauna for the most part. However, they did fix the issue by the time I came to check-out. Other than that minor issue it was a great place to stay and i’d stay there again.

Too cold in summer”
Although it was quite hot outside of the hostel, inside they put an air conditioner at 16°C, so it was impossible to sleep comfortably, cause you were obliged to put something hot, otherwise you would freeze and get sick. I don't recommend this hostel

Cheap and decent place”
If you are looking to save money, this is a great place. The bathrooms need work and cleaning, but the rooms are clean and most of the beds have curtains for added privacy. I booked this last minute, and my only real complaint is that there isn't a hostel atmosphere. A lot of older people and people who live here.

Very cute building, with a wonderful view over the city and public transport right outside the door but with poor maintenance and cleaning. Old and stained mattresses, vomit-stained walls and dirty kitchen and not enough items to help ourselves. There was no cutlery, no bed linen, some lightbulbs didn't worked and towels were taxed separately (but without previous information about this). The staff were very friendly and kind but unable to help.

I wanted to help a friend of mine and I lost the full amount paid”
My friend (63) was not admitted at check in for being "too old" I made the booking on the same day, few minutes before his arrival at the hostel. It was very disappointing, he had had an argument with his family and was about to spend the freezy nights before Xmas with no roof.

Hostel has two different location, building with private rooms located at Carrer de Santa Otília, 15 near El Carmel metro station and has no any signboard. Location has great panoramic view to the city, but far away from city center (about 15 EUR by taxi). Friendly staff, 24h reception, fast WIFI in the rooms.

Passable for few days”
1 Very nice terrace, even if a bit windy. I imagine it would be perfect on summer months. 2. No upper sheet, just blanket. Does not feel comfortable. 3. I don't think the floor in my room was even brushed once during my stay. (Corridors and bathrooms were brushed and washed daily) 4. Though shower stalls are nicely roomy, showers themselves left lot to wish for. Water pressure dropped off when hot was turned to maximum (but if less than maximum, water was too cold). In one of three stalls flow was reduced to mere trickle. I'm in favor of economizing water with timers, but 4 seconds?!! (I counted). Washing one-handed takes lot more time. 5. Kitchen is closed from 14-18 for cleaning. Most of the times I went to kitchen, sink was full of dirty dishes. Maybe if staff could step in every hour or half and wash few pots (or better, ask people to clean after themselves), they would not need 4 hours to clean.(ok, usually kitchen was open long after 2) 6. Some of the staff were quite rude, but others were nice, so I give 2 stars. 7. Room where I was had 8 beds and only 2 power outlets. When I asked for extension cord, I got very gruff 'No'. The adapter kept falling out of the wall and again, the guy in reception couldn't care less. But in the end he found me an extension cord.

Loud and messed up”
Staff was nice and friendly, the location was ideal for me, away from the city center, quiet and around locals. At the moment the hostel is hosting a bunch of young teenagers from another country. They were friendly, but they were also loud and wild, which is not at all the environment where I wanted to be. So I left after one night. The facility is quite messed up and seems run down. Didn't feel nice to be there.

WE BOOKED FOR 10 BUT THEY HAD JUST 3 BEDS”
One star for each field is too much for its value! We had to climb the mountains to reach the place, and when reached, they told us the website we used for the reservation made a mistake: they had just 3 beds for 10 people, and they didn’t want to give us the money back. We thought 100€ for 10 beds was almost too much, but it was for 3 beds! It’s TOOOO MUCH because of the position, the cleanliness, the rude staff, the facilities, the heat in the rooms. The 3 of us that stayed in this hostel had to fight all night with the incredible heat, they sweated all night: no air conditioning, nothing. The 7 of us who went to another hostel payed almost a half than what they payed at Mellow and were given a better room, with air conditioning, kind staff, clean rooms, clean toilets, in the centre of the Barceloneta zone. Not recommended at all! If you want to waste money literally, because they book beds at random, go there.Dont,if you don’t want to sweat to reach the place and during the night.

Very very loud. Whilst I thought the staff were friendly they could have done more to stop the group of drunk teens shouting all day and night and preventing the rest of the hotel from sleeping. Toilets were blocked with sick in the morning too and general cleanliness isn't great. Location is far from everything and for 3 or 4 bucks more I feel you can get far better value elsewhere. The rooms were clean at least and they have a great view. Terrace is a cool space and facilities are a mix of good modern stuff and older decor that needs some work.

The location is not so good and is not very clean in public area, dining room especially kitchen, it's gross. The staff is okay, helpful but not too polite. Lots of people talk loudly as if only they are staying in the hostel, and so does the staff. Some facilities are not working, like the hairdryer in the bath room. Its clean in the room but very hot, there's just a big fan in room.

A LOT OF BED BUGS”
I stayed two night. The first day, there were many bed bags in my friend's bed. So all people in the room moved to other rooms. But there were bed bags in my new room and, other rooms too. Just in one night, I saw bed bags in 5 rooms 6 beds, at least. The staff said this was first time, but I don't think so.
