Exceptional”
Excellent location...able to walk short distances to most sites. Room is spacious and modern but one bed was so creaky it was impossible to sleep well. Every turn led to a loud noise. Hot water was sparse at times for the number of guests in our room. Daily breakfast was suitable

We stayed in the Mercer House Boria for 2 nights as a stop over in Barcelona. The suite was perfect with excellent air conditioning, a nice sitting area, and two separate sleeping spaces. It gave our family enough space to spread out, a needed break after traveling long hours together. The residence was clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and walking distance to plenty of great sites and restaurants. From this locale, you can easily walk to La Rambla, the History of Barcelona Musuem, the Cathedral, and many shops in the Gothic District. I thought hot water was a problem (I took several very cold showers), but learned from my children that I was turning the tap the wrong way! I should have asked! Breakfast was convienent and had enough variety to satisfy all, to include one vegan teen.

Great location & Enjoyable stay”
We stayed here for a couple of days before a cruise and would stay here again. If you want to stay in the Gothic Quarter, you couldn't have a better location. Staff was helpful and pleasant. With only a short stay we didn't utilize the kitchen in our room, but if we would if we were to stay longer. Our room and bed were comfortable. The only thing missing was the lighting (a few more lights would be great). Breakfast is included. An absolutely delightful buffet spread, European style. But the fabulous chef will also cook eggs to order (and they were excellent). Definitely check out the Mercer House for your next visit to Barcelona!

Fantastic boutique hotel with amazing staff”
I settled on Mercer House because I loved the location. Having lived in Barcelona I knew this was exactly where I wanted to stay. What turned this into the perfect stay was the amazing staff, th beautiful large & spacious accommodation & the delicious breakfast. I will continue to return to Mercer House.

Great location but not very comfortable ”
Mercer House Boria BCN is in a great location, walking distance to Las Ramlbas and many other sites. Train station is a few metres away as is the taxi rank. Unfortunately from a comfort perspective, the beds were hard as rock and the bathroom very awkward. Also strange smell came from the shower area. Although on the 4 the floor you could hear people outside when walking loudly down the alley ways. It is unfortunate as the staff are lovely and assisted us in many different areas.

The room (loft) we booked was more like an apartment with a kitchen. Pretty spacious and clean. Also the interior design was quite nice. The location of the hotel is superb and you can reach almost every sightseeing attraction by foot! There is also a near subway station. We purchased a 5 days Barcelona Card but NEVER used it because we walked to all spots. The hotel is a little bit difficult to find. It's exactly there where google maps directs you. Watch out for a big wooden door. There is no hotel sign board or something like that. We haven't tried the breakfast at the hotel as the food outside is a lot more tempting. I can definitely recommend the hotel for the price (around 180 Euro per night) and the location as well as the room comfort. Enjoy your stay. Barcelona is a great city!

Beautiful and wonderful location but...”
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend it for its cleanliness, location, and look It's very clean, very quaint and really well located. It doesn't have a swimming pool or 'facilities' but it has everything else when it comes to beautiful scenery. We were upgraded to a suite and wow! That was beautiful! The lady at check in was really very helpful and kind - she really took the time to write on a map and give us suggestions and directions so we were delighted with her help as we only had 1 night!!!! Little issues we found: -not wheelchair friendly for sure - a lot of staircases (even in the bedroom) and no bell man to help you with the luggage. When you ask the receptionist to help you, you are subject to a little attitude (when we checked in- the girl was awesome but when we checked out, wow we had one grumpy woman!) -we had booked our hotel stay with breakfast as we intended to have breakfast before leaving barcelona on a 14 hour flight journey but it appears breakfast starts at 8.30am and when we asked, we were told very strictly & rudely (same check out woman) that we weren't going to get any breakfast even though we paid for it as we were checking out too early (would it have been impossible to give us a few croissants and a coffee before we left?? Or maybe a refund on breakfast could have been offered!) Aside from those two points - I will most certainly recommend this place. A lil bit more service minded attitude and it will be a perfect place to stay!

We love this hotel. We did not expect based on previous reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised! The place is difficult to find, but once you find it, it is really easy to get around to major places. The hotel is clean and the room we had is perfect. Thank you for a wonderful visit. Lovely hotel in the center of Barcelona”
we loved this hotel. we spend three nights here and we very pleased. the rooms have been renovated and they looked very new. our suite had a bedroom and a living room, with kitchen and a fridge so it is very convenient if you want to keep food or beverages. the hotel is superbly located in the born area and is walking distance to all the walking tours of the old town.

Cold and lacked atmosphere ”
The location is perfect, the staff were very helpful and friendly but overall I think the hotel needs some love. The bathrooms were quite tired as were the rooms. Also there was an unsettling smell in the second bedroom which we weren't going to use anyway but it forced us to keep the door closed at all times. It was good value for money but only because of the discount we obtained on your site. Granted it was 7c outside and it Jan but we found the hotel very cold with no atmosphere...

Lovely boutique hotel. Fantastic breakfast! Amazing location in Gothic Quarter. We booked a “superior” room but it was small and basic. It was very noisy at night - but the location is worth it and earplugs worked a treat. Staff were all wonderful.

We have stayed in three different rooms and enjoyed all of them. The lower smaller rooms are darker but perfect for sleeping, the two upper loft rooms were very spacious and well appointed with kitchenettes. All had the same comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we would love to return.

1. Great location for tourists. Many restaurants and shops around. 2. Spacious room. 3. Some facilities in the room are broken e.g. kitchen cupboard. 4. Super friendly and helpful staff. My flight was delayed and I arrived 3 am in the morning. I called before hand and the staff reassured me that the guard will get the door and key would be ready. 5. Super friendly staff were willing to provide me with all information. 6. Hotel is located in a lane but taxi can still stop at the door.
