Exceptional”
We booked 2 standard rooms. Front desk staff were friendly and had provided great service. He gave us a copy of the city map and provided useful information to us. Appreciate it very much. However, the housekeeper were not very friendly. She left the rubbish on the refreshment table and didn’t replenish the coffee. But we are fine with it, maybe she is too busy. Overall, we were happy with our stay as location are great, and rooms are clean and comfortable.

mercure city center hotel is ideally located in very center of budapest, in famous vatci utca (main pedestrian street) where lot of h palaces, places of interest, restaurants and shops can be found. well known bridges connecting banks of danube river are in close proximity as well. it’s walking distance to all attractions and museums. hotel is very well managed, great service, rooms are very spacious, clean with refrigerator, safe, good aircon system, modern bathroom, but bed could be more comfortable (too soft mattress is not what i prefer). hotel provides free wireless and can arrange taxi to pick you up/take you to the airport - one way 23 euros). next to hotel is excellent italian restaurant which i would warmly recommend (avoid those restaurants with "traditional cuisine" on huge square situated right from hotel and next to new shopping mall, its lousy food there, not worth the money!) budapest is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but 2 -3 days will be quite enough to see the most important city can offer. i would definitely stay again in hotel mercure city center if i go again to capital of hungary ! please note, if you want to stay in very center, make sure you booked “mercure city center hotel” since there are several “mercure” hotels in the town.

Very comfortable hotel”
The Mercure Budapest City Center Hotel is very good located in the centre of the city, in THE shopping street of town where no traffic is allowed. It has 2 entries, very near metro and busstops for airport, etc. It has a good bar with free internetpossibility and they serve also good food. Just opposite is a moneychanger with good rate, restaurants in all priceclasses, pubs, minimarkets, etc. Good hotel for a fare price.

Great hotel for a week in Budpest”
A group of friends stayed for nearly a week at Mercure while attending the Formula 1 race. The hotel was very well located in the tourist area, but within easy walking distance of Metro stations to go elsewhere in the city, and easily serviced by taxis. Location is near the river, great area for walking, some shopping, lots of restaurants. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Included buffet breakfast had a good selection of food, good quality. Room was a bit small but was comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful, helping us with directions, restaurant reservations, taxis, etc. Price was right. I would stay again, with friends or a family on a return to Budapest.

Great location down town Budapest”
this hotel is right downtown budapest, within easy access of all points of interest in budapest, the hotel is located within 2 minutes from the danube river, right opposite the buda castle. the hotel is 5 years old, and the rooms really look like they were 10 years old, dirty wooden floors, that really needed a caring hand, or rather a good wash and polish. we stayed there for 1 week, and did not see the floors being washed once, only vacuumed. we have stayed in other accor hotels around the world and normally the rooms and the cleanliness of the rooms are top notch, but i regret to say that this particular mercure property, did not live up to the usual standard. the room was kind of small with only uncomfortable dinning room type of chairs, no proper lounge chairs in the room, so the only place you could really sit/lie to read, if this was what you would want to do, was in the bed. hotel had free wi fi and breakfast included (the breakfast was really nice), which was one of the reasons we picked this hotel. we would probably not choose this hotel again, as there were several other hotels availble in and around the same ares.

well..the location is really fantastic It only takes less 10 min to city center&Szechenyl biridge the facilities are great to use and the kindness of the staff is really nice too. And the room is really clean and modern and comfort to relax the body tired from walking around the city You won't be disappointed when you choose this hotel.

Superb Location and Good Value for Money”
The hotel is conveniently located in Vaci Utca (the city center) and around 10 minutes walk to The Chain Bridge and Budacastle. Around the hotel there are many restaurants, cafes and Pubs, and 3 minutes away from underground station.The hotel has great selection of breakfast. nonetheless, the bed was a bit hard and not so comfortable but will still strongly recommend this hotel as a starting point to explore Budapest.

Stayed for 4 nights at Budapest Mercure. Pros 1. Awesome location. 4 bus stops away from Keleti Station. 5 minutes walk from bus stand and Metro Line 1 and a 10 minute walk from Metro Line 2 and Tram Line 2. In a 30 minute walking radius you can cover all the top sightseeing places and close to Lion's Fountain from where Free Walks start 2. Decent and Clean rooms 3. Tons of eating and drinking options within 2 minutes. Cons 1. Breakfast wasn't included and is a little pricey (17 euros).

Grat location lovely staff”
My wife and me stayed at mercury city center for 4 nights from 13december 2012. Our double standard room was like in picture showed in booking process. The staff was very helpful with supplying information about the city and even helped us to print our shuttle voucher. Breakfast was not included in our reservation and they charged 17 euros for it which I find to bit expensive.

the mercure really is in the city centre, situated on a pedestrian shopping street and walking distance to deak square. on the other hand, the hotel is not easy to get to by car, because of one-way streets. our bathroom was small (1.8 x 1.8 metres)and the hotel could do with refurbishing. the staff were friendly and helpful.

a very nice hotel with great location for those who wants to be in the center literally. located in vaci utca and it means: great shopping (just outside of the hotel) and proximity to restaurants and bars. you can make shopping and just hope on to the room to put everything in case you need free hands for more shopping or want to tour without shopping baggage. hotel staff are very kind. privilege room entitles the vip lounge which is a great benefit. good breakfast. wifi in rooms.

Centrally located Budapest Hotel”
this hotel is really right in the middle of budapest, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the buda castle, 15 minutes to the citadel. so for people traveling for sightseeing, this hotel is ideal. rooms are quite small, and a bit run down, with wooden floors which really could do with a nice wash and polish. breakfast is excellent. the reception staff is really helpful. all in all good value for money, but as said above, the floors in the rooms could really do with a good wash and polish.

A nice hotel and was in walking distance to many things in Budapest. A street of shops and restaurants, right outside the hotel door. It was walking distance to the river cruise ships. Maybe 10 minute walk. We could walk to Gellert Spa,. 20 minute walk? The hotel was clean, staff was great. I'd stay there again.

Worn out room but great location”
i visited a couple mercure hotels around the world and had always the impression that there was a disproportionate investment in common areas (reception, bar,...) comparing to the rooms (except for the one in hanoi). the room (and bathroom) was realy tiny and furniture worn out. not what i would call a romatical setting. i've been in 3-star hotels with better rooms. elevators also extremely slow. on a more positive note, the hotel is located in the center of pest and in consequence near public transportation. breakfast is also very good and varied. balancing pros and cons, i think the hotel offers good value for money after all. still, i would look for a better alternative for my next stay.

Friendly, comfortable hotel in the best location”
When we arrived we were not happy with the Standard Room we booked (nor its lack of tea-making facilities), but an easy upgrade to Privilege Room was fantastic - bigger room, better bed, tea-making facilities, excellent buffet breakfast included, and the luxurious Privilege Lounge. The staff were most helpful at all times, especially in locating old friends living in Budapest.

very comfortable hotel at a good location in the main tourist street breakfast was excellent but was an additional cost. for the price charged for the room it should be included in the tariff. staff was helpful and generally ok. would stay there again if i revisited budapest upmarket stores nearby and a fantastic italian restaurant next door

It is a great hotel, the location is near to everything. It is on Vaci street, that mean shopping street. The Metro is about 3 mins walk and staff at the hotel are very helpful. I would stay at this hotel next time i am travelling to Budapest. I had priviledge room, it is included VIP lounge.
