great hotel in downtown Hamburg”
Stayed over the new year, we were a family of 5 with 2 rooms. Staff, facilities and location were superb. With the U Bahn only 100 metres away inexpensive transport throughout Hamburg was at our doorstep. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here next time we are in Hamburg

nice place to celebrate New Year”
The hotel is nicely located in a park and close to U and S-Bahn as well as a restaurant area. Very easy to explore the city from there. Only small glitch was that we booked a room for 3 adults (confirmed by Agoda) but the hotel had a booking for 2 and a small child...the staff fixed it quickly and to our satisfaction

TERRIBLE SERVICE”
Terrible hotel I have ever seen ! I waited more than 20min while check in. Only one person was working in the front line even though there is many people to wait there. I stayed superior room but room is small with small windows. Also, air condition is not working I call staff many times they check but they said that there is solution for air conditiioner. Also my last day morning there was alarm whole hotel evecatued for nothing it was for misunderstanding. There was many people waiting outside with pyjamas but they did not explain anything. SO PLEASE DO NOT STAY THAT HOTEL !!!!!

Quirky but great Hotel”
The hotel is a converted water tower in the heart of Hamburg, which makes for a unique stay. It is conveniently located and the rooms are well apointed. Staff are very friendly and there is an excellent restaurant.

Near to the Exhibition Centre”
This hotel is closed to the exhibition centre, Hamburg Messe, this is the reason i stayed here. but price is quite expensive although the room is nice and clean. One thing not so good is that you must pay for the WIFI. Staff service is overally good but becareful when choosing the rooms as some rooms can be very noisy as the hotel is close to a train stop. proximity to bars and restaurant is within walking distance, about 20-25 minutes walk to the famous Reeperbahn area.

Excellent room in an eclectic building ”
Old water tower refactored to a luxurious hotel. Entrance, reception, lobby and bar are in a cavernous atmosphere including ambient sounds of dripping water. Clean rooms with all expected facilities. Well situated in the Sternschanzenpark with lots of restaurants close by. The metro station to the city center is only a one minute walk. Highly recommended!

Did not feel safe there”
The hotel itself is nice and quite comfortable but unfortunately the area does not seem safe after dark. The train station is a short only a short walk from the hotel but there are only a few lanterns on the way. One evening I walked towards the hotel and was scared by 2 men jumping out from the park and shouting while running towards me. Luckily I wasn't far from the hotel's door. I asked the reception to send security and check if the men were still there but I was told that the hotel doesn't have security, also would not call the police and they also didn't think the men wanted to harm me... basically the staff didn't even try to reassure me that I was safe. I would not stay at Movenpick again.

Might be a bit pricier than others, but absolutely worth it. The hotel is in an old converted water tower! Wonderful ambience, and very very unique. Fantastic breakfast too.

stay if you want a less crowded place ”
during check in hours, only 1 staff is serving, service is slow not just when checking in but also when requesting for bedroom slippers and kettle. requested for extra pillows as allowed by the explanation card, but then when called, they kept saying "you seen the pillow on the bed right? you want more? there is extra pillow in the cabinet, you want more?" anyway, the pillow they provided are very very flat.. anyway, when checking out, we were charged again for city taxes as the hotel insist we haven't be charged. then we contacted Agoda after that, Agoda refunded us the double charged. overall, not a pleasant stay in the hotel. and please ask for room that isn't facing the convention hall/train station, the train noise can be heard even at 10th storey and I can only fall asleep after midnight and awake early morning by the first few train noises..

Good hotel in not so good surroundings”
The hotel is very nice and cool with nice beds and nice breakfast, though the Cappuccinos were weak. We came late and the staff was helpful but a bit new it seemed. We were surprised that for a luxury hotel they could not offer anything to eat but M&M and almonds in the bar after 11 pm. The surroundings are unfortunately not great. It is in a worn down area near a subway station.
