Where to stay in Nozawa
Nozawa hotels & accommodations

A bit older hotel, but very nice. 5 min walk to the lift that takes you up to the slopes. Very nice onsen bath inside the hotel. Nozawa onsen is very small village so close to everything. Only negative was the breakfast that was a buffet style, I had thought it would be a classic japanese style.

We are a family of two adults and two kids, staying in a very spacious Japanese room with private toilet and bath which is not easily found in Nozawa Onsen village. Staff were extremely polite, kind and helpful serving with smiles always. Really appreciate all the experience we had with Nozawa Onsen Grand Hotel.

It is a budget hotel that has excellent location for skiing. The Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort is just right in front of the hotel. We rent the ski equipment from the house next to the hotel. The gondola, lift and snow scooter are just right in front of the hotel!!! This hotel is very clean, good breakfast and friend staffs. The room has futon and tatami mat and also heater ...

Everything here is perfect! I like their Japanese style room, their hot water, their breakfast, their clean toilet and the owner (old lady) who take care of us even she can't speak English but willing to help us. Before we leaving she also gave us apples. The location is in downtown area and not far from the ski entrance. I love this city and hope to comeback and stay ...

We stayed during winter for 2 nights at Ikemoto, the room is huge! It's one of the few hotels with an attached bathroom and adequate heating. Most of the rooms in Nozawaonsen have shared bathrooms. The room is large enough for 2-6 persons, futons can be requested for extra persons. The location is strategic, it's beside the Chuo bus station, all the buses stop here to...

The staff are great! Very friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel shuttle services are very convenient. The public shuttle is right outside the hotel. Neflix in the room was enjoyable :) I will stay here again if I have a chance to visit Nozawa Onsen again.

Loved this hotel. The staff, the food and the ski in and ski out location was great. The staff were extremely helpful. Loved the onsen as your muscles desperately need it at the end of a days skiing. Rooms were warm and comfortable and you get some traditional clothing to relax in. Initially I thought it was strange that you had to book a day in advance (usually) if yo...

Great location in the village. The hotel bar was very nice. The public areas were quite stylish but the rooms are in need of renovation. Breakfast was a mixture of Japanese and western. The onsens were also in need of renovation, but l really appreciated the opportunity to use the private Onsen for no extra charge. The hotel was helpful in shipping a bag to the airport...

`Berg Marukaneya was an ideal hotel for my wife and I, children aged 6 and 9. The hotel is 5-10 minutes easy walk from the nearest ski lifts at Karasawa, and a ski hire shop. Even better there is a shuttle bus from there to the other slopes at Nagasaka. It is a bit quieter than in the centre of town - about 10 to 15 mins walk. There are places to eat nearby, and you...

The staff at Hatoguruma Kawabata were so incredibly nice to me and my girlfriend when we stayed there. I found that some of the service in nozawa onsen to be a tad cold (perhaps end of ski season), but the wonderful manager was so nice to us and even let us take a shower/bath after we had already checked out after a long day of skiing. It was greatly appreciated.

It was an urgent booking on the day we checked in. All the things about this hotel was beyond our expectation. We were surprised when we saw the room that was so sweet, comfortable and beautiful. The village where the hotel located was also comfortable and charming. The ski trip was awesome.

A traditional Japanese Ryokan, with vintage appropriate to townscape. With its 2 own private onsens for guests only, attentive staff ensure you feel welcomed and taken care off. Location is near the bus terminus (3-5 mins hike up a small slope) and amenities are near. Nice stay off ski-season.

Our stay was great! I went with a group of 4 and we got two Japanese style rooms. We were their for the Dosojin Matsuri (annual Fire Festival) which from my understanding is their busiest weekend of the year. The host and hostess were extremely friendly and helpful. My friend lost his cellphone and they called the local police station and took him there to pick it up...

Nothing fancy, but this hotel is clean, warm, and close to the downtown area. It's the perfect place to crash after a day of skiing. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the mountain. The hotel is set up like a dorm - all the bathroom and sinks are down the hall. There's a public bath on the ground floor. Friendly staff, they helped us rent equipment and buy lif...

Wafu Pension's Pluses - Near the Nagasaka Gondola - Near Village Bus Shuttle Station - Walkable to the 2 other Ski Slopes of the village (1.Nagasaka, 2. Hikage and 3Karasawa... Nagasaka is just at the back of Wafu Pension. Very very near. - It is also very walkable to the u-Road which is a gigantic escalator that takes you up the base of the 2ndHikage ski slopes - Yu...

This hotel is very budget oriented which we fully expected. Japanese tatami rooms were small but sufficed as we spent most of the time out of the hotel. Walls were thin and loud neighbours were an issue. The worst issue was the smoke that penetrated from the ground floor up to the 3rd level. We had to place padding under the door to stop the smell. Management spoke ver...

It’s in a good location just a few minutes walk to the town centre. However, the lady owner was rather unfriendly and fierce. Her staff, on the other hand, were friendly and helpful. Breakfast served was sadly really miserable. It’s not even enough to fill your tummy.

Very clean, comfortable, spacious and good value (three of us stayed in a Japanese / Tatami room). English isn't spoken but check-in and check-out was fine. Breakfast is traditional Japanese which was pretty good but not the best fuel for a day's skiing. Oddly, the showers / onset are closed outside 3pm to 10pm so you'll have to persuade the owners to open it up outs...

Located on a small side street a few minutes away from the main road, Shirakaba was a great find among all the places to stay at Nozawa Onsen! It feels like a traditional little Japanese lodge that caters to visiting locals and foreigners and offers traditional room-style lodgings with some modern conveniences. A big plus is the local-style common baths along with the ...

very old and traditional japanese family house own by a very old grandmother, i love the table with warmer in room, the room big enough and comfortable to sleep. the owner very nice but she need to handle too many things, so didn't clean the house very much. the shower and onsen room not bad have very hot water for bath. the location is just next to Yu-Road to snow ...

We stayed at the Oyado Uemasa for 8 nights whilst snowboarding in Nozawa Onsen. Staying at this hotel has all of the positives of staying with a family and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was simple and comfortable, with a futon bed and hot tea making facilities. We slept well, and were warm and cosy. Breakfast was really special every day, and we were ...

We were a group of 3 and we all enjoyed our stay. The pension accommodated my husband and I's request for vegetarian breakfast. We did not dine there at night. Breakfast was large and a good start before a ski day. Hotel was very clean. The location is ideal for skiers who want to get on the slopes early and easily. It would not suit groups who want to go out/party in ...

I don’t usually write reviews, but i feel this is worth my time and effort. Utopia was my first stay out of many of the places in Nozawa Onsen, i can say it is truly the most memorable one, the best service, breakfast, cleanest room, the owner gave me a great introduction to Nozawa, and kind enough to pay great attention during the 2 days i stayed to help me plan ...

The owners could not do enough for us, driving us to the slopes every day. We found too hard and the owner remade them with extra mattresses for us. The breakfasts and dinners (700Yen and 2000Yen per person) were outstanding. The dinners were degustation style with 8 different tastes at a minimum per night. Both the Japanese and Western breakfasts were way better than ...

We enjoyed our stay at Tobee, we were allowed to check in early and the location was very handy to the ski fields and main village. Traditional style Japanese futon bedding. There seemed to be only one shower for the whole place with restricted use times which didn’t affect us but could if the place got busy.
