A little too far from Takayama station”
From the Takayama station, we walked for about 25 mins trying to locate the ryokan. Once you know the location, it would take about 17-20 mins to walk to the station. The ryokan is managed by an elderly couple who could not speak any English. We managed to get by with my very limited Japanese words. The owner was very kind to drive us to the station when we checked out the following day. Our room, on the 2nd floor, was clean and quite spacious before the futons were laid out. There are 2 common female toilets and I guess it's the same for the male toilet. But, there is only one common shower with an attached onsen. The water from the tap is potable. A big plus point is the free WIFI in our room and the delicious traditional Japanese breakfast prepared by the couple.

Nice host family ”
Ryokan is managed by host family, it was far from station, old town but they offered free shuttle service to pick up and drop off. Room was very small with simple decor. There were only 2 toilets room and only 1 onsen bath, might not enough for more people to use. Local breakfast was so nice. Owners of ryokan were very kindness even they could not spoke English.

The worst place we bumped into during our Japan trip”
This place is quite far from the center. It really needs to be redecorated. It looks very old and not that clean. We bumped into the staff only for the check-in and the check-out. They were like ghosts for the whole time we spent there. The only good thing I must mention is that they offered to drive us to the bus station when we left. Not recommended.

Hotel situé loin, très loin de la gare des trains. Au retour, j'ai été raccompagné jusqu'à la gare. Un soulagement! C'est le seul hic, l'emplacement. Sinon, l'hotel est conforme aux normes japonaises, traditionnel et accueillant!

Posto da evitare”
Location buona perché si trova 10 minuti dalla stazione in taxi. Noi siamo stati d'inverno e la cosa più fastidiosa e' stata rappresentata dal fatto che le aree comuni, atrio, corridoi e bagni fossero privi di riscaldamento. Le toilette si trovano solo al piano terra e noi eravamo al secondo piano. Camera spartana èw piccola con futon sporchi di capelli e impolverati.

1. 千萬別住五人間(前方大房間, 可住三至五人). 晚上公共區間的燈光會讓房間一片光明, 完全無法入睡. 鄰近快速道路, 半夜有點吵. 早餐一般. 2. 後火車站直走, 過快速道路就看見了, 走路大概十五分鐘. 附近有吉野家 及 德兵衛迴轉壽司 及 全家便利商店. Boss 超市也在附近. 可走路到飛彈之里. 3. 老闆完全不會英文!

第一次住傳統型的和室，真的是非常棒的體驗，床鋪非常的軟，桌上還有仙貝當作點心，令人驚艷的是澡堂裡的健康溫泉，可以洗去旅途中的疲勞。 雖然語言不通，但是房東主人還是用心的接待我們，退房時的道別聽起來格外的溫馨，希望有機會再度光臨。

如果會再次來高山，一定會再來住這家！離高山車站有距離，冬天建議要搭計程車，不然走路會冷到發瘋。屋主老夫婦都不會說英文，可是很親切地介紹，房間非常日式傳統，但什麼都不缺，有浴衣、毛巾、牙刷等，兩件棉被洗得很乾淨很香，在大雪夜烤著暖爐睡覺超享受。浴室屬於公共浴池，可以一人去洗也可以夫妻or帶小孩。喜歡日式傳統的真的超推這家。
