Great little place for a snow holiday!”
We had an amazing time at Pension Airmail. The owners were lovely and incredibly helpful. Their English isn't great but they will make the effort to help. Our room was very spacious, warm and comfortable. Downstairs there was free tea, coffee & fruit. The location is great, the free shuttle buses for Goryu, Hakuba 47, Happo & Iwatake stop right outside. It only takes 10 minutes to get to Goryu / Hakuba 47. There is a 7-11 at the end of the road about 5 minutes walk away. There are plenty of dining options in the area. We especially recommend Garlic for excellent pizza & pasta. Opposite 7-11 there is a traditional Japanese Izakaya (pub / restaurant) which does great food and has a very friendly owner. The main Echoland strip with a bunch of other options is about 10 minutes walk. One small problem - there is no laundry at the hotel or in the immediate area. This probably isn't important for most people but I thought I would mention it.

Quaint little pension. Basic rooms but clean. Walking distance to 7-11 (which is a must for $ withdrawal) and restaurants. Shuttle stops almost out the front and is at close to the start of the run so no problems getting on. Owners speak limited English but were very helpful and drove us to an Onsen, to bus and took us to place to do laundry. Great value for money. Quiet pension. Would not hesitate returning.

Good - watch out for the pricing on Agoda”
Our experience was rather good over all. The breakfast was delicious and I definitely recommnend having breakfast there as it is not too expensive and tasty. The juice and coffee were so delicious and they gave us more than one cup of coffee so we sat and enjoyed a few cups two of the mornings. The house itself is a rustic and not in tip top shape, but it is fairly cozy. The beds were not great - we slept quite well though! Maybe this was a combination of the warm room and being warn out from the day with skiing and what not. The couple that ran it was so helpful. They tried to give us coupons for the ski slopes (we found some better ones online), they gave us a ride to the ski slope and then to the train station when we had a near emergency trying to return to Tokyo Narita Airport. They tried to help in many ways and always wanted to do something when we had a question. Their English was very limited though and the translation, when it was necessary was done through an app on the lady's smart phone. The only problem was that the price I thought we were paying was only for 1 person. I may have misunderstood the pricing. Please be careful though. Overall, I think it was good, but I would not stay there if I knew I was paying 2 times as much as I had thought. Bottom line - if there is no selection for how many people you want to stay, they may ask for the same price for however many people are there. Enjoy.

Fantastic little rooms with lovely hosts”
Lovely little hotel with awesome hosts. Close to the cherry pub and another nice cafe before or after you go skiing! Shuttle busses regularly come close to this accomodation. The hosts, while they spoke very little English, were extremely helpful and ready with their translating app. They gave us a lift to the ski rental which we received 10% off for staying here. They also gave us a lift back to the bus terminal after our stay.

Value for money if you can put up with a bit of agedness of the house”
Friendly owner. Location, cleanliness and price is great. Only draw back is the house needs renovation. Wall painting is tattered, bath room heater has limitations on how much warm water you can have and the house surroundings needs some clean up.

Very homely place with a lovely seating arrangement downstairs for breakfast. Staff were really nice but no english. We hired a car but noticed there is a bus stop about 1 minute walk down the road. We would stay here again.

さすがに古くなっているところもありますが、十分清潔にされています。ドリップコーヒーや各種お茶が1階で自由に作れるのが良かったです。部屋風呂の他に家族風呂があり、そちらを使いました。他の方も書いているようにバスマットが気になったので、部屋から持っていくのがいいと思います。朝ごはんのパンがとても美味しく、ちょうど焼きたてのパンがフロントにあったので、200円で購入し、旅の途中で食べました。レーズン入りくるみパン、とっても美味しかったです。
