Mark was great! Great emailer before check in and great check in and check out host. Great location mostly because it's on same block of a metro stop. It's a little far from the marina and Las Ramblas but it's an enjoyable walk through the city. If you're going to the beach, walk up the hill and take the scenic cable car ($11 +/- one way) to Sant Sebastia Beach. Be very careful for purse snatchers walking up the hill to the cable car - they tried but didn't succeed. We enjoyed the street facing room but definitely not soundproof rooms as advertised. Free wifi but very very weak on our third floor room, only available in apartment foyer and maybe in living room if the front door was open and never strong enough signal to get it in the bedrooms but the "Pan" sandwich restaurant next door had great wifi service at their tables (and good food). I think because this is an apartment and not a hotel that only one hand and shower towel per bed is provided but no soap but there's a grocery store just across the street. The items in this review aren't negative (except wifi), they are noted for your heads up information because we would stay here again. Charmsuites, if you read this, because all you beds are twins (even in the master suite) you should purchase and make available the item that straps two twin beds together to make a king sized bed for the couples used to sleeping on the same bed. Very happy with our 2bed with 2 sofabed apt. Comfortable beds, all the facilities you need and lovely spacious apt. Was not immaculate but fine. Staff were very helpful and accommodating for leaving bags for early check in and allowed early check out too :-) would definately stay again. Didnt realise how nice the Poble sec area nearby is and was delighted with the location for this reason!

The hotel is located just around the corner from metro station Paral-lel. It is very easy to find. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. During my stay (in january) it was very quiet at night. The room was big, clean and had a good bathroom . The shower was hot and had excellent water pressure. There was a generous supply of clean towels, as well as soap, shower gel and shampoo. There was a TV, a refrigerator and a small safe. The windows were locked, but there was a quiet airco. The only amenity I missed in the room was a water cooker. The breakfast buffet offered different European and American breakfast options. There also is a good selection of teas, which is exceptional in Spain. I have stayed in 3 star hotels which were much worse than this 2 star hotel. Next time I return to Barcelona, this hotel will be my first choice!

It was a secret deal from Agoda, prior to booking, we had no clue what kind of hotel or room type would be for us. Surprisingly, upon to our arrival at the hotel, we were so grateful to see it was a four star hotel with professional working staff and most important, the room we had was fantastic, spacious, cozy, comfortable bed and pillows. We had great time there. I mean I would like to come back. Location wise, super. Subway station and other lines of bus just outside of the hotel, literally 1 minute walking or even less. Big and comfy bed, very clean room and bath. The staff was so friendly and helpful to give us lots of useful tips. The best location in Barcelona. 5mins walk from 2 main metro line to visit park guell, sagrada, harbour and la rambla, etc. Only 10mins walk from the harbour. Easy to reach from the airport. The spa treatments is a bit expensive but I am sure very professional. The restaurant menu more or less same price than in another 5stars restaurant in the city central so if the weather is too rainy is perfect. We are really enjoyed it.

overall, auto hogar hotel is a hotel i would recommend to those who are really on a budget. you get value for your money. the staff are friendly. the location is convenient - very near the metro and if you're in the mood to walk, las ramblas is roughly about 10minutes away from the hotel by foot. however, if you have more money to spare for your trip and if you really want to have the best room, view, etc. you can opt to look for hotels located by the passeig de gracia area. my experience in auto hogar hotel was good. i have no complaints :) and the best part was, they were able to get a taxi for me at 330am to the airport! :)

With Hotel Barcelona it's all about Location. Fall out of bed into the hub of Barcelona City with its abundance and variety of restaurants, bars, entertainment and attractions. We walked everywhere, all the major attractions are either within walking distance or a short easy metro ride. We had our own en suite bathroom which in Barcelona City is rare. We had everything we needed. Every one of the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Hostel staff are very friendly — they really make a point to talk to you, ask you what your name is, etc. That goes a long way when you’re alone and traveling in a foreign country. Atmosphere is pretty social, especially since there is a large room with couches at reception. They have wash and dry laundry for 7 euros, an outdoor patio, and free vegetarian dinners at 9pm. Fridge, stove, and cookware available if you want to cook. Cheap breakfast for 3 euros. Feels very homey. Only issue is that only some bunk beds have the coveted curtains... some don’t. I booked an 8 bed dorm and we did have curtains and storage underneath the bunk beds where you can lock your stuff. However there was a wall partition that led to 8 more beds... so really seemed to be 16 beds. However, I’ve slept pretty well despite this. People seem to be considerate of light and noise. There are separate male and female washrooms. Within 10 min walk of 2 metro stations and bus stations and the beach!

Great location in the heart of the city. Easy walk to Montjuic, La Rambla, the promenade. Single room was of decent size and clean. The only downside of my entire stay was the aircon that was poorly working. It was sometimes too hot in the room. Staff was nice. Had breakfast and although it didn’t have a lot of choices like in some other hotels, it had all that I needed and was cheap at 7eur. Buffet.

It was awesome experience staying there. All staffs are also travel-lovers and extremely friendly, those friendly atmosphere spread to all people staying there. Nicely tiny size also makes it easy to communicate each other, so pretty many of us hanged out together at night. There are also creative event suggestion from hotel almost every night, like going out together to clubs, home spanish cooking, etc. Barcelona itself is great place to visit, but after all it's all about who you meet there, especially for solo travelers.

We stayed with friend for one week to visit Barselona. Location is wunderfull, it's only ten minutes awalk to magic fountains, near to metro station poble sec, bus D20 goes to Barselonetta sea for only 10-15 minutes. Many places around to eat, supermarket is also very close to hostel. Wonderful vacation. Rooms are quite small, but clean, no air conditioner (but the is ventilator in each room), we used to open windows and use vetilator) You can also use refregerator and microwave owen, and teapot. The price is'nt high at all, I reccomend.

going there to the airport I do recommend you buy the HOLA BARCELONA travel cad they have 2,4..... days just check the nearest train station its was a huge mistake to took a cab for 32euros (price of 2, 2days hola card). It's a tiny door leading to the hostel, don't be scared like I did (the name on the door is small), buzz right thru and some one will open the door for you. Shake proof beds (you know what I meant if you always stay in the top bunk). they got all the things you need. And a good place to stay at.

I stayed in a single room with no bathroom. The room had a sink, and the toilet and shower were just opposite the room, and were always clean. The room had wooden shutters over the window, and closing them made the room very quiet and dark, so perfect if you want to sleep during the day after a big night out in Barcelona. Staff were helpful and friendly, and hotel is very conveniently located.

This is the first review I ever write. I felt the urge because we fell in love with the helpful staff and had several lovely stays at the Apolo Hostal. I really wish the hostal and the people there all good and want to tell the world what a great place this is. The staff drew maps of everything from places to park, to where the airplane-bus go and they also printed our plane tickets. This hostal looks more like a hotel and we have enjoyed every stay in their comfortable modern rooms. I can highly recomend Apolo to everyone who want to use their money on tapas dinners and pleasure, rather than a luxury hotel with swimmingpools, when the beach is right around the corner anyway.

Lovely place, well centered in town, only a 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas. This only issues is there is no reception desk where you are staying. Was not advised in prior emails when booking was made that we were required to make prior contact before we arrived. The office is actually located a few blocks away from the apartments. We ended up standing at the front of the apartments for over an hour before a housekeeper kindly rang the main office. Its also hard as we were travelling without an international phone so couldnt make contact. She also kindly offered us some water due to the heat and wait. I think she was slightly embarrassed as well knowing that a receptionist took at least 30-40 minutes to get from the office to apartment. Was a great stay overall but logistics needs to be fine tuned. Would stay again but will definitely contact the reception, maybe add an intercom system at the front of the building which calls the main office.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will be coming back later in the year. The staff is very friendly and showed us a map of the city and explained how everything was laid out and how to get around. It is very clean and centrally located. It is also close to the metro station. It has a huge well equipped kitchen that all of the guests can use. It also has a terrace with hammocks and lounge chairs where you can eat or just spend time lounging around. We highly recommend this hotel!

I had a wonderful stay at the Pars Teatro hostel. Upon arrival I was invited to join in a beautiful dinner with the hostel staff and guests. The hostel staff were very helpful with information, recommendations and bookings. The vibe of the hostel is laid back and friendly. I really enjoyed the visit to the Bunkers viewpoint with the amazing Anya as our guide. The location was good, it was easy to walk to the beach and to the gothic area (about 15 min from hostel) . I stayed 5 nights and I felt that I could have used 5 more in Barcelona. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Pars Teatro for your barcelona visit.
