Traveling to Indonesia? Find Aceh Province hotels

I'm not sure why they're rated 3 stars, because being in lots of hotels of different ratings, Kyriad Muraya deserves more. The room is clean and spacious, the key card works perfectly (having been in hotels with problem key cards, trust me this is something). Guests will also use key cards for breakfast, so no one has to ask your room number or anything. Just swipe and in you go. Location-wise, this hotel is located at Simpang Lima, basically the center of Banda Aceh where the food are (my goodness you HAVE to try the steamed cockles around the area, they're so so so good) For the 3 star rating, I suspect that it's due to the lack of swimming pool. Which I probably won't even be comfortable swimming about amongst the highly religious atmosphere there. All in all, Kyriad Muraya is highly recommended.

Very good hotel. Very conveniently located. There are many cafes, banks, ATMs in 5 mins walking. Good Wi-Fi. Room is large, bed comfortable. Breakfast starts from 6am - a huge benefit for those flying 8am flights. Local fish and vegetable market in 2 mins walking. Lots of coffee shops around, selling all varieties of Arabica from Aceh region. Very positive and relaxing atmosphere inside hotel. All taxi drivers and Grab know this place. Walking distance (20 mins) to the Grand Mosque and Tsunami museum. Definitely recommend !

I like to stay at the Pade Hotel because it has a beautiful facade and interior. Architecture is fabulous and it has a good concept where it is based from "Paddy". So everywhere is paddy including small pots that are placed around the hotel. Inside the small pots we can see paddy's sheet were planted and grow there. Nice touch. Overall, this is the best hotel in Aceh. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who stay in Banda Aceh or nearby.

1. Location : Very near to the beach and beautiful sea view! 2. Food : Dinner in restaurant was good. The price also affordable. 3. Shopping : No souvenir shop near this hotel. 4. Facilities : Internet was quite slow in the room. Shampoo, soap,and towel provided .Room and toilet were clean. Fridge available in the room. Although no a/c, its cold at nite. 5. Staff : Very helpful and friendly. Only the check out process in early morning take a little bit longer time. Receptionist open late. They should know that people want to catch ferry early in the morning to Banda Aceh. Delay in check out process might risk missed the first ferry. 6. Value for money : For RM 102 per night consider ok for me.

I enjoyed my stay. Banda Aceh hotels are generally poor, aging and over priced. This hotel is only a few years old and caters mainly for businessmen. It is situated around 2.5 km from town. there are plenty of batchas if you need transport. The cheaper rooms have no windows.all rooms I believe are non smoking. The bed was good, air conditioning fine. The bathroom was a little worn but the water was hot. The room was cleaned everyday and toiletries and free water was replaced. Tv had only local channels, wi fi worked well. The breakfast was indonesian buffet which I like. So there was rice, fish/ chicken, egg, vegetables, bread, 2fruits, one juice and coffee. The staff were polite and welcoming. Little English is spoken but that is normal. I think this is a good Acenese hotel.

We travel from Medan, North Sumatra. Transit to Banda Aceh for Sabang, Weh Island. Excellent stay though only for a night. Located in the middle of business center. Crowded at night. Easy to find food, coffee, aceh noodles, chinese noodles, fastfood A&W Restaurant in hotel (make guest easy to grab food). Room is big enough, and bed is as well. Aircond and tv equipped, breakfast buffet provided (aceh and western style). Very helpful staffs, even they can help to call for private taxi to Ule Lheu (Banda Aceh Port) to cross to Sabang, Pulau Weh.

We had a great stay at CasaNemo and would certainly go back. The room was really comfortable and the food good. Each member of staff did their utmost to be helpful and facilitate our needs. There are now direct flights by Garuda to and from Medan on three days a week. Alternatively despite what government websites say visas are available on arrival at Banda Aceh airport.

I had a very nice stay at 88 Hotel. The facility is brand new as of January 2016 and the room was clean. This is a safe, comfortable place to stay in Banda Aceh if you're travelling on a budget. Only downside was I couldn;t figure out how to get hot water from the shower. Not a big deal since it't hot as balls in B.A., not like you really need a hot shower (or should want one), I'm guessing that it was just because it's a new building. But honestly, other than that, this is a good place to stay.

Initially, I wanted to book another hotel (Hermes Palace) because of my business meeting is there . Due to not available of that hotel, I book this Hadrah hotel which is very close to meeting location (50 m only). Staffs are very friendly, but they have limited English knowledge. Clean room. Have a coffee shop at bottom of the hotel. I enjoyed 6-7 cups of coffee during my stay :)c...Recommended: 5-star flavour in 3-star hotels

I stayed here for three days so that I could work at the power plant which is directly opposite. The hotel was clean and tidy and room was very comfortable by local standards. I requested a refrigerator / mini bar as my room did not have one. I was told that only the suites had mini bars - The hotel manager upgraded me to a suite at no extra charge, first class service ! The restaurant catered for local tastes with very little western food. This was OK with me but may be a problem for some. The pool area is undergoing very extensive modifications and building work so it is currently closed. I think it is due to re-open in October and should be spectacular by local standards. There is a Karaoke club in the hotel and a bar situated on the roof, both accessible from the service elevator should you wish to use them. At the end work we stayed an extra day and hired the services of a local driver for the day (400,000 IR or about $30). He took us to a good beach with snorkelling and then on a tour of the Tsunami sites followed by a trip to a local restaurant. A superb day that I will remember for a long time - especially the part when a komodo dragon jumped out in front of the car ! If I'm ever in Banda Aceh again I would happily stay at the Grand Nanggaroe hotel

Never take the room for ,,23,, USD take just the ,,expensive one ,, U cant compere Medan and Aceh what u Get in Medan for 30 USD u will hard to find in Aceh .. If u like to ho to the Beach from Aceh .. thats the almist neerest place . Werry loud Musk prayets from all cides and bog Musk behade the hotel , so if u like to sleep .. take wery good earplaks whit u .. Annyway the stuff was nice , they try the best .. normaly all aircon are not clean and loud .. BF no komplain for 29 USD and ACEH ..

Firstly, the place reserve our booking even though booking without credit card. The staffs there are very kind & helpful, trying their best to help in whatsoever way they could to ensure a nice stay for us. They could assist in transport arrangement, snorkeling trip, etc. The manager is so kind & considerate to help my hubby to hang his pant at a better place so tht it dry faster. We felt so warm & welcome at this place No complaint with its location n chalet. I like its location as it is not located right at the town, it gives us more privacy, quietness, lesser crowd with beautiful coral just right in front of the cafe. The cafe offer one of the nicest beach view. The hot water & water pressure is not consistent, but overall it's all fine. We woke up early in the morning feeling so fresh & energetic. Value for money

Hotel Orangutan is well placed, along the main tourist 'street' and our room was beautiful, with amazing views of the jungle from the balcony and regular visits from local monkeys. The climb up to it helped make us fitter! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They arranged a car from and back to the airport, organised treks and trips and fed and looked after us well. The place has a relaxed family feel to it. We came here mainly for the orangutans, and we will remember them forever, but the best thing about our two day trek was our guides. Iruel and Tondi looked after us every step of the way and made sure we had a good time. Food at the camp was one of the best meals ever, thanks to chef Madi who joined us there. Mowgli (nick-name) was similarly friendly and helpful when we went to the bat cave, and in every shop, stall, bar, restaurant, local people were universally welcoming. We now have to get fit enough to go for the seven day trek!

I would recommend this to everyone. We had ân amazing stay at this place. The rooms are big en clean. The guesthouse is right next to the water, which gives it a really relaxed vibe. The food is really good and you can arrange a lot of trekkings here. But the best part is the owner, Bob. Ân awesome young guy. Thanks to him, the place felt like our second home. So if you go to bukit lawang, stay at this place. You will not find anything better.

One of the best places to stay in Takengon. The room that I had is average with the furnishing that looks dated with a small patches of peeling-off paint on the wall but overall the room, the beds and bathroom are clean just no wash basin. That's about it and I have no problem with that. What I like most is that it has all the basic necesscities that a traveler needs. It is centrally located, you can view the whole surrounding area and the lake from the rooftop which is nice for photography. Excellent breakfast of white rice accompanied by different dishes every other day served buffet style and eaten in a nice and clean dining area that seems newly renovated. I had to restraint myself not to over indulge in eating breakfast. For westerners who prefer bread and butter, this might be a problem. If you want to eat out, there is a popular café, judging by the crowd, just next to it, check it out on google map. Another non-upmarket eating place named Block M is just 50 metres away up the street on the same side of the road as the hotel. Across the street there is a shop where you can reload the local prepaid phone card if you have one. The bus terminal is a walking distance away. I did that when I booked my ticket to Banda Aceh. Then again, Takengon is a walking distance, so, if you need cash, the ATMs are not that far away. I spoke in Indonesian language with the staff. I don’t know if they can speak English but the manager, Mr Riswandi, a soft spoken man, can speak English very well. All in all, including the price paid, it is a worthwhile stay for the two nights at Hotel Bunda, values for the money. I will not hesitate to stay again in Hotel Bunda if I have the opportunity to be in Takengon again.

The hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is amazing. This hotel only offers breakfast, you have to go in the village to have lunch or dinner. It is situated in a village at almost five hours drive from the Medan airport. You can book the airport transfer through the hotel which I highly recommend. When you arrive in the village, the hotel staff awaits you on scooters to take you to the hotel which is not possible by car. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning in the hotel, but it seems to be the norm in Bukit Lawang. Therefore I highly recommend this place!

Really nice and clean guesthouse, The owner and his family are really kind and helpful, they will support you in everything that you need (airport, tours) the restaurant has local and western food for a cheap price and good size and quality, they are always keen to share with their guests, so you can learn about their culture and meet local people, we went for 4 days and finally we stayed 2 weeks, good place to relax. I really recommend this place, I hope to come back soon.

The pros: decent room, comfy mattress and quality linens. Great a.c, hot water and wifi. The pool is kept clean. The sunrise is the highlight. Downside, if you come by taxi, you best negotiate that driver to come back and agree to a price that's worth it for him. We didn't do that, at check out the staff on hand could not seem to confirm a taxi was coming. Thankfully we had a drivers number and he showed, but it was stressful. Also there's nothing around other than the in-house restaurant, and it's both higher priced than all othervrestraunts we visited and serves rather tiny portions. I'm ok with either given that it's a monopoly, but I'd like good portions to make up for high price, how much is rice anyways? And seafood fried rice where the only sea food is 4 tiny squid slices declaratively placed on top.... for these reasons, this is the one hotel out of 4 that we strayed at in Pulau Weh that I'd not return too.

As soon as I booked a room at Rain Forest the staff got in contact with us by email trying to advise us on how to get there. They picked us up at the bus station and took us to their guesthouse. They even helped us with the big backpacks. We booked a double room that comes with a fan, a mosquito net and an attached bathroom with cold shower and western toilette. They have a garden where you can sit and relax. They also run a restaurant and serve delicious local and western food at reasonable prices. We also booked a half day trekking tour with them (25$/person). Great value for the price!

I would like to say thank you so much to Putra, it was the best experience I could ever imagine in Bukit Lawang. When we came by bus he was waiting for us in the bus station, he bring us to the hostel and since then we felt just welcome. We book a 2 days trek in the jungle and we were very lucky, -he said- because we see almost everything you we expect. The trek was exigent but he was patient, the food was unbelievable, very fresh and tasty fruits, and the camp in the jungle just everything you can imagine, private natural pool, private cook, own tent, very nice service and an amazing night in the jungle. I hope that if you come to the jungle you book with him, because not just the service, the attention and the knowledge about the jungle, but because support local people is essential for the jungle and the animals, he left everything clean and we get not less than a luxury experience in the jungle. 100% recommended.

Villa paradise is a good value & comfortable option for Bukit Lawang. Although a little bit outside of Bukit Lawang, its a short trip there and to the National Park. Rooms are a good size & clean. Staff are very friendly, & our jungle trek guide, Peri was fantastic - a real character. Food at Villa Paradise is good - the only thing that could be improved was the speed of service from the kitchen which was slow & delayed our departure. Recommended.
