Traveling to Vietnam? Find Ha Giang Province hotels

Well, the hostel served its purpose. Clean rooms and a motorbike rental for the Ha Giang loop as well. However, since we may have been one of the last renters of motorbike for the day, we were given a motorbike with rather concerning conditions for the Ha Giang loop. Well needless to say, the bike eventually failed the loop on the last day, but we managed to get through it. The hostel was also located a bit further away from town, so it can be a bit inconvenient...

As it’s a few minutes drive out of Ha Giang, the Homestay feels rural and quiet. Our room like most home stays was simply a square off the main room. It had a huge window that we kept open during the night so the sounds and sun woke us in the morning. Clean bed and good mozzie net. The dinner was delicious, easily the best home stay food we had during the northern loop! The family who run the homestay were sweet and hospitable. Other plus points, a fridge with cold beers and soft drinks, a ping pong table and 4 cats. Id tell anyone heading to Ha Giang to stay here.

I booked this homestay with no idea that I would be staying with a family in this amazing village. I just assumed a hostel-type homestay in a rural area. But no, it was much more than that. I stayed at Mrs. Dung's homestay and learned about her, her family, and the Thon Tha Village. Mrs. Dung was such a sweet lady and very welcoming. The food was all delicious and came from either her home or village. The price for my stay was about 25USD but the value is priceless. I will never forget this experience or this family.

We stayed at Hong Thu after our first day driving from Ha Giang to Quan Ba. This homestay is lovely and the host family is incredible. We shared a feast of Vietnamese food and corn liquor with the family and a few fellow travelers, which would become one of my favorite experiences the whole trip. Our very comfortable private room with the huge dinner and breakfast came to only 500,000 dong. I can't say enough great things about this place.

The owner, who works the front desk is so helpful and kind; greeting all guests with complimentary tea upon arrival and every time she sees you. Excellent quiet location for those getting ready to start or finish the Ha Giang motorbike loop. Her motorbike rentals were the best quality bikes we have ridden, reasonable priced, and the local food right across the street is delicious! Highly recommend staying here. An easy spot to see Ha Giang as well by motorbike. The owner even provided a free taxi for us to catch the bus when leaving town.

Im Vietnamese girl who travel alone. I have lived some dorms but this is the most beautiful and best dorm I have ever been along Vietnam. I book early bird so the price just 3$. The room is so nice. I love the bed so much. It is very colorful and warm. The wc is clean and big. The staff is very nice and friendly. They also deliver breakfast free with tea and coffee. I talked with the owner and know that this is a new dorm. Because last day i have rided 330km moutain road so Im so tired. The dorm is so nice that I decide stay in Ha Giang city 1 day to relax. I highly recommend kikis for your trip when you stay in Ha Giang city. More than what I expect for a dorm with that price. In 2 day, i stay alone in this 4 beds room so feeling like Im rent all room. Lol. 5/5 for all things. Very close. Center location. Clean. Nice. Comfortable. Like a home. I do like and recommend. Thank you Agoda for good recommendation.

This hotel is quite old, needs upgrading badly. Location no good too (17km away from town centre). Luckly met a nice lady (Linh) who is working with the tea shop next door but both under the same boss. She speaks good English and got her boyfriend (Ai) who rode a motorbike to bring me to visit beautiful places for 2 days at a very reasonable price. That made my trip so enjoyable. Strongly recommend their services for sightseeing but not the hotel.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff is amazing! Most people who come to Ha Giang, come with the intention of doing the Ha Giang Loop. The staff members are willing to teach you or give you the basics of driving a motorbike, in order to help you feel more confident. They can help you plan your loop as well. The hostel is social but not a party hostel. The beds have curtains and the rooms are quite spacious.

Stayed here for one night when I arrived in Ha Giang. Hostel is great value for money, clean and comfortable with HOT WATER! Best of all, having arrived at 6.30am, they let me check in straight away. The bikes at QT were great, and the whole service was really professional. I was driving a brand new bike. They also helped organize my onward bus travel. Couldn't recommend the whole operation enough. Louis

The hostel is a great base in Ha Giang to start and end the loop. It was really clean and the dorm rooms were really spacious. The staff are super friendly and help with information about the loop. We rented our motorbike via them. The bike was really well maintained, the helmets were really good and the price was definitely the cheapest option in Ha Giang. Would definitely stay here again

This is my first review ever but I have to write it. One think about homestay is the place but only people makes a homestay true homestay. Buidinh and his mom were amazing hosts - not only they helped us with everything we needed (pharmacy, money exchange, street food, etc.), they taught us Vietnamese language and answered all the questions we were curious about Vietnam and mentality of the local people + their history (wars). Google translator helped :-) In the evening they prepared true Vietnamese coffee for us and invited us for the typical fruit (dragon fruit) - the type you always see at the market but you don't know how to choose and buy the right one :-) Very nice and warmhearted people I definately recommend to visit. We arrived in Dong Van and immediately decided that we didn’t want to stay in town. I found Homie Homestay after a quick search and 27km later we arrived at the most picturesque homestay in the most northern village of vietnam. They have 2 double rooms in what’s may have been old stables but renevated to be clean simple rooms with the best bed linen in vietnam! The mattresses were a little hard but it didn’t affect my great nights sleep. Dinner was served in the family home behind the homestay which was my second favourite meal of the entire trip. We spent the next day on a trek to the boarder points with China which was good fun, but be warned, if you aren’t a fan of steep hills avoid at all costs, nearly broke me! More expensive than other home stays but it’s owned by a Hanoi family which shows in the style AND the price.

Pros: Clean room but the bathroom was not. Cons: The location is far from the center/downtown of Ha Giang. It is located in the outskirts of the city. This place also wouldn’t rent me their “overpriced” bike because they wanted me to pay for a tour or a personal driver. They claimed that it was too dangerous and that I would get hurt. As soon as I said, I didn’t want a driver or tour then they said they would rent me one if I had a license. The “manager” pretty much showed he was just trying to hustle me. I rented a motorbike from somewhere else and just finished the “loop”. I had a blast and I was perfectly fine. I never write negative reviews but I felt like I had to for this one. This Hostel is far away from any restaurant or bike rental place so they pretty assume they can hustle you. Avoid this place and stay in a place like Bong Hostel. It has a much better vibe.

I stayed here to do the Hà Giang motorbike loop and it’s perfect. The staff are all lovely and Daniel who runs the hostel is a diamond! You can rent motorbikes from here at good prices which includes bike insurance. They have hot showers and provide breakfast with tea/coffee eggs and toast. On evening you can join a family dinner which is value for money. It’s a short walk or drive from town but this means that the hostel is relaxing with a nice view from back onto fields. I cannot recommend enough. I needed some help after having a little accident and Daniel did everything possible to ensure I was looked after and ok. There is a bar and pool table but not a loud hostel as a good nights sleep is needed for loop!!
