Lovely hotel, great breakfast, excelent service”
We stayed at Rumah Batu and Villa Solo when this hotel just opened for a few months. The hotel was beautiful, clean and the room we stayed was at the 2nd floor, not big but very nice. The swimming was small but big enough for our 4,5 yers old daughter. The breakfast was excellent, the chef was came out from the kitchen to say hello to the guests. And offered the food he could extra cook for our daughter. The 'disapointment' was only the location of the hotel that was not acurately stated on the map of the hotel's website (at all, the location on the website was in centre of Solo and the real location of the hotel is in Solo baru, it's a completely different area). It took us more than 2 hours to finally found the hotel. We already told the manager to update their website. Hope it is now updated.

Perfect choice for our needs”
Rumah Batu Villa & Spa is located in the outskirts of Solo in a tranquil environment amidst rice paddies, yet only a 15-minute drive away from the city center. For us it was the perfect choice for unwinding after spending the day in the city. A family member booked the wrong date by mistake, but the matter was easily resolved by the very friendly staff. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Our family stayed for 2 nights at the Rumah Batu Villa and Spa. The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool. Overall the atmosphere was quiet and calming. We would surely come back in our future trip to Solo.

Lovely design aesthetic combined with comfort”
My wife and I had a really lovely stay at Rumah Batu. We felt well cared for by the staff, well nourished by the kitchen and visually pleased by the beautiful design eye brought to the Hotel by the owners. The only downside we found was that it was always a bit of a chore to get into central Solo. Having said that, it was always so sweet to arrive "home" and sink into the beautiful tranquility of Rumah Batu.

A weekend getaway”
Stay at Rumah Batu Villa was great, but short as I only stay for one night for a weekend getaway. Location is away from the city, but still close appx 10-15mins drive to Solo Baru, makes this location perfect for a hideaway as surroundings are peaceful.

Full Service with a smile ”
The location of this hotel is far away from town. the Rumah Batu Villa & Spa Nice is a brand new hotel, the architecture of the hotel soo reflecting the balinesse style. Rumah Batu Villa offers something for everyone with ample opportunities for fun, romance, relaxation and exploring Pros - Very nice and new place - Fine decorated and nice surroundings - Good pool and SPA services - Looks like a good category hotel Cons - No shop/restaurant is available in a walking distance. - Food in the restaurant is good and well decorated but with small quantity. Service is a little slow because of lack of training.

A great stay underlined by the superb staff”
We stayed for only two nights in Solo coming from Mount Bromo and heading on to Yogyakarta but those were very pleasant. The rooms are well worth the money and we felt relaxed quickly in the calm and and nicely decorated environment. We did not expect such a nice place! During our 3 week trip through Bali and Java the staff at Rumah Batu was the most attentive and efficient we have encountered. We highly recommend this place to any traveller that wants to relax a little and leave all cares behind.

Relaxing, beautiful hotel, very clean”
We loved our stay at Rumah Batu. The hotel itself is gorgeous and very clean. The rooms are big and very modern. Staff is really friendly and helpful even though communication in English can sometimes be a challenge. The same goes for the hotel's driver. We had a wonderfull massage at the hotel's spa which was absolutely lovely. The hotel's surroundings are uninteresting to say the least and we did not care for the city of Solo very much. It did not live up to our expectations.

Staying Green and away from the Hustle & Bustle!”
Being our first trip to Solo and not sure as to what to expect, finding Rumah Batu is definitely a good find when looking for somewhere relaxing and a back to Nature feel. Love the natural wood furniture and the re-use of old timber and giving them a new lease of life! Not far from the City's center where many of the restaurants and Malls are, take a taxi. I'm sure there are much more to be explored! Worth visiting again!

Lovely hotel, cozy environment and great service”
This is definitely one of the best lovely hotels we have stayed. The location is not in the center of the city, but if you love to stay in a unique cozy place and atmosphere then this hotel is perfect! The hotel is surrounded with lush green trees, flowers and lovely swimming pool in the middle of it. Staff is very friendly and always welcomes you with a smile. We're even surprised on the first day of our staying, the owner of the hotel welcoming us very friendly, had a nice chat and suggested us some great places to visit in Solo. Breakfast is also very nice. Cozy room and clean toilet. Don't forget to try massage service at the hotel Spa, excellent! We would certainly stay here again!

Excellent stay but WARNING met a local fraudster/scammer here”
We spent 2 nights at rumah Batu and really enjoyed our stay. We chose the location to be away from traffic and avoid being right in the heart of a city. Great place to relax, enjoy the pool and ambience. Great way to get to the waterfall (note the natural pool there has a leak and not in use- but if you have children good kids pool). OUR WARNING: we met a local man called "Donnie" (he weighs over 130kg so he stands out) who offered us to share his car and driver for 1/2 petrol cost and hotel cost to visit a dolphin sanctuary. This turned into an elaborate scam & effort to get us to pay $AUD1000 (IDR 1 000 000) after claiming his driver had been in an accident. We later read he has managed to get $$$$$ from other travellers. We got away with just a pair of shoes missing! One of the workers at the hotel told us we were lucky to meet him but after leaving received an email stating to beware as the man we went off with was a well known criminal!! Pity we were not warned before we left

great architecture, great food, great services”
we choose the room with the additional recreational service (city-tour with horse-cart). at first, the receptionist mentioned that there is no such service in their hotel, but after they made confirmation to the marketing staff, they confirmed that the city-tour will be arranged. The foods were great, some of the reviewers mention that the food is served with a little portion, but we found it were just fine, and delicious..its price were fair... I recommend for couples to have honeymoon here...its really cozy place to stay...a resort hotel, with a budget price... The internet connection can't reach the room (at least our room on the 2nd floor), and the TV channel mostly local, but we were stayed not for business purpose neither watching TV, so it were not being a problem at all

Hidden gem in the heart of Solo”
First impression of the hotel was already a winner.The only downside, well is the location which is slightly off town, even cab drivers would say.. "solo baru, out of town, very far.." However, it is not difficult to book a cab. THe staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The room and its surrounding was spectacular and the spa is top notch! Would definitely return to this hotel.

SPA oasis”
We checked in early, spent the afternoon and evening up in the mountains. enjoyed breakfast and the spa the following morning. The only negative point is that the hotel is neither in the city nor in they countryside. (I expected countryside) Otherwise Great value for money. Solo is not exactly a touristic city so if being outside is no problem for your, this hotel is highly recomended.
