Best ryokan in Kyoto Centre”
If you would like to experience ryokan with osen and explore Kyoto also, Ryoan Kazuki is the best option.
Beautiful and very cultural city ”
It was an excellent hotel which provide the lovely onsens and beautiful environment inside the city. It would be the best choice for sakura or red leaves season and definitely you will have a great experience with Ryoan Kazuki Inn.
Excellent Visit”
The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The woman at the front desk went out of her way to provide us with additional information about the local Kyoto area, even printing out directions for us. The location was perfect. It was within walking distance to Gion and the main shopping areas of Kyoto and only a few blocks from the subway. The room was designed in the traditional Japanese fashion. While it could probably use a refresh, the room was very comfortable and well designed. The minibar in the room was a great value as well.
Our great stay”
It’s a beautiful property! The room was huge even by American standards. The futons were very comfy, and both the room bath and public bath were delightful. The staff were great as well, very friendly and helpful . The location is very convenient close to the subway, and the main shopping street is only a 6 min walk away. The only negative aspects for this stay were; one the WiFi was very spotty and very slow in our room, and two they were all booked up when we tried to extend our stay since we likes the room and Kyoto so much. Bottoms line is the rooms, staff and facilities are great, if you shouldn’t hesitate to stay here!
A very pleasant Ryokan experience in Kyoto”
It is a very pleasant stay and experience to stay in the ryokan style hotel. The service and staff attention is superb, they do care into really detail matter. The hotel location is also great, it can be reached easily by walking (~10 mins) from Karasumaoike metro station (which is only 2 stations away from Kyoto main station). The onsen spas are great as well, we are the only guest who use it at that time. Overall, a very recommended place to stay.
Wonderful ryokan”
Centrally located in Kyoto near Nishiki Market and shopping. Attentive service. Wonderful kaiseki dinner, comparable to the other higher end ryokans we've stayed at. Dinner in a priivate dining room. Wide selection of breakfast buffet items. 4 large separate onsens. Nothing to complain about.
modern tech meats traditional beauty ”
We paid for an upgraded room (one with a name not a room #) and it was beautiful. It had a sitting area, foyer, modern bathroom that was very spacious by Japanese standards. It also had 2 single beds and a full size multi purpose room raised in the middle with paper walls and tatiami matts. There were legless chairs and a coffee table that pushed aside for traditional futons at night. (not the best idea if you have a sensitive back). They even supply you with traditional house clothing to wear around the hotel when visiting one of their four public baths. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful and the closest thing to a knock would be the breakfast perhaps was not worth the money but a great stay for sure.
Good and value for money ^^”
I like this hotel very much. Although it is comparatively expensive, it has provided a fabulous night with delicious dinner at room and comfortable tatami bedroom. It was enjoyable with good services. Be reminded to reserve the dinner at room when you make your booking. Btw, the location is convenient. The only disadvantage is that no WIFI at room, only available at lobby.
Nice Ryokan in kyoto”
Having stayed at other ryokans there were things that were better and things that were not. I wish they had served dinner to us in our room, as we are on our honeymoon and that is what I have had in other Ryokans. That said, this was a beautiful hotel with a few Onsen for guests. The rooms were spacious, the staff friendly and the property was beautiful.
Different!”
Having never stayed in a Ryokan before this was a great experience. Kyoto is magical and this Inn is in a good location for you to explore. The bathrooms are miniscule but the rooms are a reasonable size. You can also experience Japanese baths – if you're brave enough! My only negative comment is the price – it is painfully expensive for what you get. Having said this, if you've never stayed in a Ryokan before it's worth doing.
Exceptional”
Little bit expensive, but provides the essential Ryokan experience. Beautiful kaiseki meal and gorgeous rooms - more similar a small house complete with indoor gates and gardens. A pure joy. Excellent central location.
Wonderful experience”
Would recommend to everyone who wants a traditional experience in kyoto where the hotel is close to the city.
Wonderful staying hotel”
Wonderful staying hotel, it has a nice hot spring in hotel. Quiet and nice. Especially, there is not much people to use hot spring at night. It seems like private use. Also, it is nice that to free upgrade the room to us. The room is capable for 4-5 person to stay.
Ryokan experience”
The room was large and clean. We had a huge space to move around. The bath area was also very nice, equipped with convenient facilities. The staff were not very good at English, however they tried hard to explain everything. Breakfast was so-so but definitely filling. I love the location as it's in walking distance to a lot of shopping and dinong places yet very quiet.
Good food, great onsen”
We opted for the breakfast and dinner options and didn’t regret it. The food was amazing and well worth the price. The onsen was great as well - not too crowded and the outdoor onsen was a great experience. The rooms were a bit tired thou, wish it was a bit more spruced up. But overall was good.
Excellent”
Ryokan Kanzuki is a great place to experience Japanese culture and life. The hotel is in the central area, excellent location to walk everywhere. The hotel has excellent public Onsen, One item can be improved: more shade at night time as it is a bit bright to sleep on tatami.
Great Ryokan Experience in the Heart of Kyoto”
Really nice experience, very well cared for and lovely facilities, with very nice onsen-type bath, great Japanese food and attentive staff. We really enjoyed our stay.
Great stay”
We booked the room with dinner and breakfast and we loved it. Also their baths are great
Convenient but not that value for money”
The public bath is good. But for our room, the toilet is very smelly even it looks very clean, don't know where the smell came from. The price is reasonable in high season due to its very good location. Easy accessibility to shopping and local restaurant. Free parking till next morning 10am. Not a very good choice but not bad indeed.
Exceptional”
Quite a good experience as our first stop in Japan trip. The only thing I didn't give 5 star is the feeling that the vanity area is too squeezed and old. Everything else is very nice, good hot spring experience and I love the full body massage chair! Wish they add some more of these chairs.
