Old buildings, clean, quiet”
Old buildings with traditional roof. Quit & peacefull environment. No modern hotel facilities. Only a few food menus available. If you want a peacefull hotel with a simple stay-style, Sahid Toraja is the best . . . . 👍

Beautiful relaxing location”
We loved this hotel. It is removed from the noisy, busy, nearby towns. The grounds and buildings are in the Tana Toraja tradition. The hotel provided us with an excellent guide, car, and driver for two days exploring the unique cultural of Tana Toraja. The staff from the manager Andry R. Manangka on down were professional and proficient. All spoke excellent English. The hotel has a grand pool and would be a good spot for families. It is also an excellent location for conferences. The rates are very reasonable as well.

Splendid authentic Toraja typical architecture”
We had 2 great nights in this beautifull North-Sulawesi (Toraja) style hotel. The construciton of the Hotel is such that you have a perfect image of the typical architecture of the surroundings, and this is good if you have little time to go there. We took over one hour or so to take pictures of the hotel for this reason. The rooms with individual balcony and nice garden view are very nice and confortable Now the bathroom should be renovated, and the hotel also generally speaking, and another inconvenient is that it is a bit appart from surroundings, except if you come from South Sulawesi wich was our case (in such case it is just on the way !). But still great, with a very friendly staff. Beautifull architecture, again.

Lovely location out of the usual Tana Toraja route”
stayed at sahid toraja hotel 3 nights to visit the tana toraja region. the hotel is quite far from rantepao (ca. 30 min by car) but the location is peaceful and clean.

They organized us transport so we could explore Toraja it was superb! The hotel is old but clean...always hot water for shower.Wifi was working sometimes.The food was delicious and specially the staff was so friendly and helpfull.

Nice Hotel with helpful staff”
The hotel looks really nice with its Torajan architecture style. The location is a bit far from both Makale and Rantepao. You need cars or bikes. Makale is closer though. If you re coming from Makassar by bus, make sure to warn the bus staff to drop you off on their way to Makale. Otherwise you need an other drive from Makale to the hotel. The buses also pick you up from the entrance of the hotel on their way back to Makassar. The hotel is a bit old, but the atmosphere is really nice. The staff is really helpful. Our bus was in the evening and they let us for a really late checkout. Food is good, the staff can also help you to arrange tour guides.

This hotel is so old and needs major renovations. I can see that when it was built, it was amazing, but now the carpet is stained, the room smells of mildew, and the doors are rotting. The outside design is impressive and the gardens are beautiful, but the rest of the hotel is not good. There's no real restaurant, just random tables set up. This hotel is also far from Rantepao, the starting point for all of the main things you want to see in the Toraja region. The staff was kind of enough to issue a refund for the last two nights we booked and we moved to a much cheaper homestay in Rantepao.

Comfortable stay in unique surroundings”
The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. Our room was comfortable and air conditioning is definitely not needed. Hot water did not run out. The staff was able to arrange an excellent tour guide for us at the last minute. It was somewhat difficult to get food at the hotel in the evening but other than that, I would definitely recommend staying at this establishment!

Hotel location quite far from town around 30min. No AirCond as you don’t need it. Room is clean and staff is very helpful and friendly. Bathroom shower is little problem and hot water is always empty, need to wait around 15-30 min.

Quiet and confortable hotel”
The hotel and its facilities are quite good. It has a big swimmingpool, restaurant, a very quite enviromment, etc. We were during high season and there were not so many people. The wost part is the location but this is not a big inconvenient because the manager helps you to contact tour guides and drivers who pick you up and drop off in the hotel

Good 3-star hotel in Toraja”
We had a good stay overall. They accommodated our dietary needs at the restaurant (we are vegetarian) and helped us to organised a motorbike. As the hotel is a bit further away from the attractions it was helpful to have the motorbike so we could explore independenly. The room was very big and comfortable with a nice view.

Comfortable Stay in a tranquil site”
We checked in at 10pm and were too tired to notice the location of the Hotel. Next morning we had a pleasant surprise with beautiful gardens and greenery around. The Hotel architecture was typical of the area. We were the only guests at the time. Even in summer, the night temperature was cool around 18-19 degrees C. The Hotel is a good 20 minutes away from the city Center. Very basic F & B facilities. Apparently this is only one of two good hotels in the region!

We stay 3 nights and we arrived at night, staff is very helpful and friendly. The room is big and clean, the only problem is bathroom. Shower is little error and hot water is limited, need to wait. Breakfast is quite good. Swimming pool is nice. Even without AC you will enjoy the weather.

The property was once an excellent and beautiful hotel! Now it is outdated and needs quite a lot of maintainance. The restaurant was very simple and not suitable for vegetarians. However: despite all of this the Total area is very nice, the rooms are big and cleaned every day! The beds are good and the staff is very nice and helpfull!!

Old hotel in a quiet area”
We stayed at this hotel and feel that this hotel has a quiet atmosphere. Makale city can be reached for 20 minutes, and we can reach Rantepao town for 45 minutes by car. No internet facilities, but visitors can bring HSDPA modem, because the Internet is fast enough with Telkomsel on site.

We book 2 rooms for my family. The rooms are spacious, with double or twin bed arrangement, nice swimming pool, quiet environment, friendly staff explain many things about TanaToraja. We order for dinner as well and the food is good and delicious.
