A small hotel with high service standard”
Room was spacious & comfortable. The lounge with complimentary drinks & wine during 4-6pm was an added feature that completes the stay. Will be good if the sake for hot bath is provided everyday instead of only one bottle for each stay

High quality hotel ”
The overall hotel is gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The facility of the hotel is incredible. Dinner is stunning. This is the best kaiseki dinner I have ever tried. For those who wants a private spring, we highly recommend grande twin room with open air bath . You can enjoy the hot spring anytime you want.

The bathtub was amazing. ”
The wooden bathtub was amazing, they provide a bottle of sake for a sake-bath. The amenities and hospitality here were both amazing! Also a plus point that it’s just 8 mins walk to nearby tourist attractions.

Exceptional”
Location is optimal to go try on kiminos and see Kiyomizau-dera Shrine. The hotel itself was very nice with a nice lounge on the 3rd floor with little snacks and tea to drink and chill. The rooms were very clean and the private indoor onsen was nice (abliet a bit small for a couple). The only thing was during check-in, they made us wait for over 45 min with any warning or indicator on what they were doing on keeping us waiting for so long. We saw other guests also waiting and being served tea but not us which was off-putting for us.

Awesome”
My trip at Saka Hotel was simply awesome! The location is really closed to Kiyomizu-dera. The room was so comfy and the staff there were friendly. Especially, the guy who assist me to check-in and a lady who served us in restaurant, I was truly sorry for my poor ability of Japanese. If I have a chance visiting Kyoto again, I will come back defintely!

Hybrid of a east/west ryokan experience”
Room was comfy and plenty of space. theres a hot tub that you can soak in the room as well. Located right beside Gion district which makes walking the area accessible. Parking there is free which is amazing that you can take day trip to other region like Arashiyama bamboo groove, fushimi inari. Breakfast is superb , daily surprises of kaiseki, stayed there for 3 nights on the last day. they did a western Kaiseki style and Family loves it.

Amazing service!”
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and everything was great. The rooms are new and spotless clean with in-room bathtub. Dinner at the hotel was delicious. The fresh cooked rice was extremely tasty. It was our first time to Kyoto and the staff guided us where to go/eat and arranged for our transportations. One night my son lost his stuffed toy which he had since he was a baby and the staff found it for us. We are so thankful for their effort. I think this was the best group of hotel staff I’ve ever seen. I would stay there again next time. Highly recommended!

Breakfast, Kaiseki dinner and room with outdoor bath review”
We stayed one night at Saka Hotel Kyoto during our 13 day trip to Japan. It was by far our favorite place. Even our 6 year old son loved this place. The hotel is very close to Kiyomizu-dera so it was very nice to drop off our stuff before heading up to the temple before check in. The staff was awesome and very attentive to our needs as well as our children (6 and 2 years old). We used our outdoor bath several times during our short stay. This was perfect since it would have been difficult to go to the public one with kids. The meals were exquisite. When we return to Japan, I would love to book this place again.

Amazing Value”
Saka Hotel rivals the nicest hotels in Kyoto for a fraction of the price! I stayed at a different hotel for my last visit to Kyoto, which was exquisite but triple the price! From now on I’ll stay at Saka for every visit. I highly recommend the rooms with the private onsen. Arigatōgozaimashita Saka Hotel staff!

Modern Ryokan near Kiyomizu dera”
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood near the Kiyomizu dera temple, this place is zen and peaceful yet convenient. We took a stroll in the morning to the temple before sitting down for a hearty Japanese breakfast. This is our second time here and we tried the private bath, which is just magical.

Highly recommended small hotel with great rooms and professional courteous staff”
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Saka Hotel in every aspect of my stay. The staff was warm and friendly, the hotel atmosphere was quiet and serene, the room exceeded my expectation with thoughtful design and great comfort. The Japanese style bath with large wooded soaking was perfect for relaxing after a long days of sightseeing on foot. Most commendable were the meals at the hotel which allowed me to sample Japanese cuisine in a way in a way I would not have on my own. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Kyoto.

BEAUTIFUL”
A late review (my apologies) from my first Japan trip during sakura season. This hotel, staff, location was 10/10. My god, you need to treat yourself to a place like this at least once in your life. Service: I was greeted so warmly upon my arrival and they accommodated my early check in as well. The staff also graciously accommodated my allergies to seafood (yes, seafood and I'm in Japan, so sad!!!). I had the kaiseki dinner and breakfast and IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! I was treated like a QUEEN. Room: BEAUTIFUL. It was like a modern ryokan. I booked the room with private onsen and it was so relaxing and luxurious with great Japanese style. Pajamas and all the amenities you can think of were provided. Beds were comfortable and clean. I felt safe and at peace here with the warm and quiet atmosphere. Location: Walking distance (3-5 mins) from Kiyomizudera Temple and lots of cute shops! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!! Thank you, Saka Hotel!!!
