Clean but mildly inconvenient”
It’s a fancy hostel with a few inconveniences. - The bathroom was connected with the big ofuro, and all were closed after 1 am. So if you went out drinking and came back late, you can’t shower. - There was only 1 bath place on the first floor. Not all floor. - Items like electric pot etc is available but you have to fight it with other staying guests. - They only clean your room after 4 days. - No skincare amenities at the public bath so you have to bring yours. - A little far from the bus station of Kyoto station. + Clean. + Great tea and coffee selection, but hot water it’s only available when the front desk staff are there. + You can choose shampoo and conditioner.

Great Location, Great Accomodation ”
Really enjoyed our stay at the Sakura Terrace The Atelier. The place was super clean from the lobby once you walk in, to the rooms we stayed in. Though the rooms were small for 2 people and the bathrooms/Showers were shared between everyone this wasn't a problem. However only one towel was provided for the entire stay with additional towels costing extra. The feel of the place is a mix between a hostel and a hotel with a common lobby they expect you to spend most of your time with others and your cozy room for you to rest. Location was super convenient - Only a three minute walk from Kyoto Station and a 7/11 and Lawson within walking distance. Staff were super friendly and willing to help no matter the circumstances. They even offered us umbrellas when it was raining outside. Highly Recommend Sakura Terrace The Atelier and would definitely come back if coming to Kyoto.

If you travel to Kyoto, you must go with Sakura Terrace the Atelier”
I traveled to Kyoto 2nights and 3 days and to Osaka one day. and I stayed at this hotel when I was in Kyoto. Everything was perfect. First, the location was perfect. station was just 1 minute away from the hotel. and the village around it was so calm and I truly enjoyed walk around the village in the morning. you can see what real local is like from the hotel location. and shower room and toilets were shared. but trust me! they were much better than no shared ones. There were like selection of shampoos and conditioners and toilets were also clean and well taken care of. and staffs were always accommodating. they were not like always smiling but when I need something or asking, they were always listening to my favor. I highly recommend here and if I get any chance to come to Kyoto again, I would definitely stay at Sakura Terrace The Atelier or maybe another branch of Sakura. It made my visit to Kyoto more enjoyable.

above expectation”
though it is a lower class of Sakura Terrace Company, it does everything above the average! first, price is reasonable, we only paid hkd 4xx per night. second, new property with modern design and clean interior. plus, room and bed is spacious when you compare with other similar hotels or capsules. fianlly, public bath and toilet was so clean that make you feel like at home. must reserve again next time in Kyoto! PS. breakfast was yummy too!

Modern style guesthouse near the station”
I enjoyed my stay in Sakura Terrace atelier. It is not a hotel but I considered it as modern guest house where you found the ambiance like you were at the house, with common living room and common bathroom. You can borrow things like charging cable, desk lamp, cushion, etc to put in your bedroom. The bedroom itself is very small, yet it's clean and comfortable. If you found the room is too depressing just hang around in the cozy lounge, take a cup of coffee or tea which is free for guest.

Can't Be Beat”
Absolutely the best accommodation we encountered during our 11-day stay in Japan. This was our first of 5 different hotels of varying levels and hands down our very favorite. The staff were incredibly helpful in service, advise and suggestions, and attention. The provided breakfast and craft coffee bar were such an awesome perk, the shared bathrooms were extremely clean, secure, & spacious, and the rooms were quiet and comfortable! We loved the common area downstairs for meals and drinks. The seating and tables provided common ground to share stories and conversation with other travelers. They even had a projector screen for live music from their sister hotel one night! The location was excellent and easily accessible from the train station. The rooms were small for sure, but comfortable and provided all the essentials. Not only was it an awesome price for the stay, it was our favorite place we stayed in all of Japan. We truly cannot wait to come back to Sakura Terrace, hopefully soon!

Excellent service at a darling little hotel in Kyoto”
Had such a great time at Sakura Terraces; sometimes I did not want to leave my room! They have everything you need, the food was great and the facilities are wonderful. Clean, neat, modern, just what a girl needs at a very affordable price. The location is great - there is a nearby mall and the train station is a quick 5min walk. I ran into a serious issue with my bank and they were so accommodating, allowing me to call overseas and not charging me. I will definitely be returning. I love them!

Amazing Value for Money”
We wanted something that was more than a hostel but not the cost of a nice hotel and boy Sakura Terrace did not disappoint. Great rooms, clean and high quality bathrooms, lovely reception, great staff and the breakfast and dinner buffets were terrific. Everything was easy and simple. Definitely worth a stay!

Awesome Experience!”
Excellent location, only 6-7 minutes from Kyoto Station. Very clean and cozy room with a sink. The common area was also cool. The downside is that there were only 4 shared shower room, which can be crowded in the morning, but it was compensated by the indoor onsen! The room was a bit small but you can't complain much since it's Japan. We loved this place so much that we're writing reviews for our facebook page and instagram. Highly recommended!

Super stay! This is a great find. ”
Stay here! We were looking for somewhere to stay for quite some time and then happened upon this place, thank goodness. It is just south of Kyoto station and situated in a quiet backstreet. Very convenient even when you have bulky luggage as we did and about a ten minute walk from the train station. Feels a very safe area too. The accommodation itself is welcoming, comfortable and relaxed. Free luxury teas and coffee (which you can grind yourself). Free laundry. There is also a hot 'onsen' type bath and robes which you can use which proved a welcome treat at the end of a day's walking. The lounge space is really fantastic with a relaxing ambience throughout the whole day and a music hour in the evening. You can bring your own food/drink into the hotel. There is a microwave you can use and plates/cutlery etc. This was a perfect stay for us, so much so, we extended our stay from 3 to 6 nights and tried to extend it even further, but alas there was no availability. Highly recommended.

Great location and bathroom facilities ”
Close to Kyoto Station, it only takes 7mins walk from the hotel to Kyoto Station. Clean and tidy. Interior design is really nice. The best part of this hotel is their public bathroom. They provide lots of shampoo choices. You can wear the yukata provided to the public bath. There is a hot tub inside the bathroom as well. The only con is that the bedroom is small but it is fine with me.

Brilliant concept”
The building is very unassuming from the outside but an oasis once you step through the front door. Small but comfortable rooms with shared toilets 2 per floor which was never a problem considering the number of guests, and shared bathroom on the ground floor. Beautiful common room with free tea and coffee - you can also bring your own food and drinks and have it in the common area. Free laundr and well stocked ‘borrow corner’ with extra pillows, chargers and anything else you can think of. Staff were great and location was less then 10mins from Kyoto station.

Exceptional service quality as one would expect in Japan ”
Great choice for budget conscious travelers. Less than 10 minutes walk from Kyoto station. Facilities are spotless, quiet and comfortable. Staff are extremely courteous. Nice lounge in the lobby makes up for the lack of space in guest rooms. Complimentary coffee and tea provide refreshing experience after a long day visit to Kyoto City.

Great source of facilities!”
This place has a great range of facilities you'd need during your stay including electrical appliances (kettle, adaptors, cords etc), a different variety of shampoos and conditioners, laundry (without extra charge) and great supplies of tea and coffee. The room is quite decent with a vanity area in each room for convenience. The bathroom is the biggest surprise as it is super clean and spacious with 5 showers, a toilet and an onsen within the bathroom. Highly recommended for tourist coming to Kyoto!

Sakura Terrace the Atelier Kyoto”
This hotel is a mix between capsule and budget hotel, in that you have your own room and privacy, but yet shared toilets and bathroom. The hotel looks new, staff were friendly and check in was fast. The lobby looks homely. Stayed at double room at 4 th floor. Room is as per the photo provided, just a bed and sink. Not much walking space, but sufficient if you do not have much things. The room is clean has a mini fridge, good wifi. The hotel provides charger and multi plug if you need them. There is only 1 male and female toilet on the 4 th floor. The bath facility is on the ground floor. Consists of 5 shower cubicles, 1 toilet, 1 large hot pool (onsen style). Even though is shared by all the guests in the hotel, did not face any need to wait for shower for my stay there, maybe I am lucky. The hotel is within walking distance to Kyoto station which is why I chose this hotel. Other than that, nothing to rave about, but nothing bad also. Would stay again if on budget.

Very cosy hotel”
I really love the facilities and simplicity of this hotel. it is really relaxing at the lobby as the hotel offers free tea and coffee that require you to brew yourself. will come back again if I come by kyoto. it is quite easy to find from Kyoto station.
