Excellent experience at Seonunjae”

Authenticity, warm hospitality & great ambience

One of the best stays I ever had in Korea. The hanok house was totally charming. Mr Kim, the owner, put a lot of thoughts in the room like mini reading lamp, electrical mosquito repellant & even hair straightener! He even had a booklet on bus timings which helped me to plan my departure to Gyeongju which was a big help. He speaks good English and recommended many good eating places not only within the hanok village but downtown. Even arranged my tour to Jinan, checked train schedule & called taxi whenever I needed one. Even took me out to dinner on my first day in Jeonju. The care he extended while I was there was an example of the great hospitality of the people of Jeonju. Love the experience of living in a slow city & will stay at Seonunjae again whenever I visit Jeonju. Thumbs up!

A Great Stay in a Hanok Guesthouse”

Super nice host, great location, traditional yet comfortable

Owner Mr Kim made us welcome from the moment we stepped through the gate of his home, he went through all the attractions and recommended places to eat on the room map really and really fast, then gave us his mobile text ID so we could text him whenever we needed him. Seonunjae is situated right in Jeonju Hanok Village and within a couple of minutes, we are in the thick of the action. We even walked to Nambu market and downtown with no trouble at all. Seonunjae is comfortable with heated floor and powerful showers and we had a good night's sleep for the two nights that we were there. Mr Kim not only walked us (at a very fast clip) to restaurants he was recommending, he put us right into a cab on the morning we departed for the Express Bus Terminal. A wonderful, wonderful stay!

Great experience/location with excellent service!”

The experience of staying in a traditional Korean guesthouse, excellent location in a Honok village, and a great host.

I had my doubts when we first booked for 6 nights in this guest house but at the end my wife and i were unanimous that we will stay here again if we come back to Jeonju. The experience of sleeping in a Hanok guesthouse was great, the room was comfortably warm and the floor was heated. The location in a Hanok village was excellent as there are a lot of nice restaurants, cafes and attractions around. And our host Mr Kim went out of his way to make our stay a pleasant one, from helping us plan our daily drivearounds (we were on self drive holiday), to recommending nice places nearby to eat (sometimes he even guide us there personally!), help us with our laundry and even helped to order a Korean pillow that my wife wanted! What more can i say, highly recommended! Btw, Mr Kim speaks good english.

Traditional guesthouse in the Hanok Maeul area”

Excellent location, quiet surroundings, superb owner/host

The guesthouse is located in the Hanok Maeul area of Jeonju - a traditional village. Our stay was extremely pleasant and the owner, Sung Hwan Kim, was superb! During two nights of our stay he recommended different local Korean restaurants for us, and not only showed us where they were, but also ordered meals for us. This prevented any language complications! Since the restaurants didn't have English menus, we probably would never have gone to them by ourselves. His recommendations were excellent as was the food served up!
