Loved my stay there”
It was the perfect amount of serenity I needed. Resort was clean, modern, with great vibes. I rented a car so getting around was convenient. Loved the extra things they did for us, including wine, food, and drinks provided throughout the day. Would definitely recommend 100%.

We spent 7 nights in mid February 2020 and had a fantastic time. Loved everything about it!”
This is a wonderful resort with great facilities. Loved the ambience, happy hours in the lounge room, the outdoors curries, and the faboulous onsens. Rooms were excellent. We only trird the Japanese rwstaurant but food was just Ok. Better to try places in town if not too tired frim the slopes. We booked the Evergreen Ski School in Tsugaike Kogen (10min away by taxi- better to use taxi for a family of four as is the same price as the bus but drops you right at the school) for our 5 and 6 year old kids and they were really amazing with kids. We loved the Tsugaike slopes the most (better than Iimori slopes which we tried at the beggining and the Hakuba Ski School - not a very good establishment for kids in general). Highly recommended! The best place in Hakuba!

Just great”
Fantastic location, big territory, great service and very very good breakfast buffet and dinner course. Great place to do ski but also nice to stay with young kids who don't want skiing. A lot of snow and fun at the hotel area. Onsen also very good, both public and private. There was a free tea (very good selection) and coffee in area with panoramic view to have a zen time after activities. My kids just loved free buffet from 10 till 18.

Feels like home after a long day on the mountain ”
Everything is so neat and well presented. Check in was easy and staff spoke english very well. The scenery is jaw-dropping! A total winter wonderland. The dim lights and free drinks and even the treats hiding in the hallways (which my husband loved, even though they are probably for kids) make for such a welcoming atmosphere. Being able to book a private consent for free is an extra bonus at the end of the day when your body is aching after snowboarding. As an Australian, and fussy eaters, maybe some more western options at breakfast, eg hashbrown or tomato or mushrooms and more cereal options.

Exceptional”
Very spacious for a Japan room. Great service from staff. Not listed in the amenities are the snack areas during winter (free curry, nabe, popcorn, apple juice, coffee, wine, popsicles) and various game rooms (billiards, air hockey, pingpong, an old school space invaders arcade game). Went over New Years with the intention to go skiing but stayed a lot at the resort because the kids enjoyed the resort tremendously. There was even a new year program with an interactive Taiko drum group. Would love to go back here.

Private onsens and excellent service”
Book a choice of 4 private onsens from 8am. The hotel reception staff were fantastic. We had a large group and booking restaurants in the area was difficult. There is a free shuttle service during the day and at night to the main town area. You just need to book it. The free red and white wine at night was a bonus. Totally 5 stars!

Nice mountain view of public onsen. Complimentary drinks and light meal at hotel lobby. A bit far from town centre. Recommend for self-driving.

A hotel you will miss and visit again”
I love sierra and is a repeat visitor. Overall experience was not as good as last time and they need to pick up fast. All staff are super nice and helpful especially Wing, who is a trainee and I think from Hong Kong as she’s Cantonese-speaking. On the other hand, there’s one Japanese lady who I couldn’t catch her name who looked more mature and senior was very bad. She serviced us on the check-in day on 1/30, she looked very serious and angry whenever we asked her question. Probably also because of the language that she cannot gave us very complete and clear answer which is not an issue, but she should at least give us a smile to show that you are helping. A bad experience at check-in front desk is undesirable!

Nice hotel for winter holidays ”
Hotel room is huge, nice view and onsen are superb. Free drinks and food served are nice surprises. Most of the staff are nice, especially a trainee from Hong Kong. She recommended restaurants, arranged reservations for us with well follow up. However we encountered an unpleasant check in with an experienced Japanese lady. She is rude and impatient when we ask for help on ski area transportation and ticketing.

A warm stay with highly attentive staff”
My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay at Sierra Resort, Hakuba as the staff were very attentive and friendly, and conversant in English. In particular, one of the Japanese ladies named Fumie was a great help to our stay as she ensured that our ski equipment was laid out for us each morning. In addition, the staff also helped remind us to make reservations at popular restaurants for dinners as well as provided a free shuttle to and from the resort. In the resort, the onsens were spacious and we enjoyed the free provision of tea, water or coffee milk at the waiting area outside the separate gender onsen rooms. The views at the waitinng area were nothing short of beautiful as well. In addition to their good service, the hotel also provides complimentary Japanese rice, soup, dessert and some pickled dishes throughout the day till 8pm for any one that feels hungry. Coffee, tea, hot wine and ice popsicles are also made available for free at a common living area with a fire place till 11pm. We will definitely be back again to this hotel, as our stay here made us fall in love with Hakuba, which is now our favourite over the much famed Niseko area in Hokkaido.

Great staff, kids had fun”
Our family had at Great time at Sierra Resort Hakuba. The Onsen is very relaxing after a day of hard play. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There is always something interesting to entertain the kids after a day of fun at the slopes. They especially enjoyed playing snow fight and sledding in the court yard while the adults can observe them with a cup of tea from the lobby. The rooms were a bit on the small side but cozy. Shuttles are available but a rental car would make things more convenient. Choices of nearby ski ranges are plentiful. Food in the hotel restaurants are good but not remarkable.

1 night stay in snow season”
Unfortunately we only stayed for one night in a junior suite at this wonderful hotel but it was definitely worthy of the other positive reviews. Everything was kept extremely clean and comfortable, with the huge onsen space great for relaxing after a day of travelling or skiing. Of particular note was the free pick up and drop off shuttle services to anywhere within Hakuba, to make up for its distance from the town centre. The morning buffet was also excellent, offering a surprisingly large selection of Western and Japanese dishes. A final unique point was the musky, woody fragrance of the room, which gave it a sophisticated but homely feel. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, Western hotel that won't break the budget.

Perfect Getaway!!!”
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 nights during ski season and we enjoyed the 4 type of private onsen. There are so many free stuff like hot wine, curry, ice cream, pop corn , and also the facility has free washer and dryer provided with laundry soap! There’s also a scheduled shuttle bus to take you to ski area. Sierra Resort never pull punches when it comes to customer service! This will be our winter getaway from now on!

Good resort for skiing and hot spring”
It is a very good resort for ski and hot spring. Sierra has shuttle to pick you up from bus or JR station or restaurants for dinner. They have staff speaking different language. Surprisingly, they have canttonese staff whose name is LIN who served us well on ski area to go to, restaurant menu and transportation. LIN is definitely multilingual and an asset of the Sierra. Don't miss the French restaurant and they serve good western food at very reasonable price. We will definitely come back.

Great resort at Hakuba”
We had wonderful time at Sierra, from the minute we get in the hotel till we leave. The hotel is just beautiful, hot spring is good. Location is far away from ski area and town, but the shuttle arrangement solved this problem. We will definitely go go Sierra again for our next stay in Hakuba

Great Ski Holiday Resort”
Stayed fro 5 nights, the resort is located on the outer north of the main area but this wasn't really an issue. There are shuttle buses that pick you up from the main train station and also hourly buses that do a loop through the main ski areas and restaurants. I can't remember the bus driver's name but he literally 'leaves no man behind'. On the night run he would run into the restaurants to ensure you did not miss the bus home after dinner (the taxi back can be quite costly). They also have ski rentals and a full set was around AUD$35per day and pretty reasonable. Buffet breakfast was pretty good. After a day of skiing there's green curry, vegetable, sausages, etc. that you can eat outside, mulled wine, juices and a selection of teas that are all complimentary. There's also an igloo outside with delicious red bean soup and miso soup / sake. 4 private hot springs were lovely, rooms were quite spacious, nice vibe in the rooms. Resort staff all very friendly and helpful. Would recommend
