Solaria has truly exceeded our expectations from the cleanliness of the room, service, counter staff and location. It is less than 200m from the City Hall subway station, Exit 1. Our room had been immaculately cleaned before we checked in. Though there’s no daily housekeeping. Clean towels and drinking water were left at our door every day. The surrounding is pleasantly quiet, yet there are plenty of eateries and shops that cater to one’s needs. A big surprise was the brands of the basin and tap - Hansgrohe and Duravit! We felt so pampered by Solaria:)

Maybe the best in Kyoto”
Superb location, and superb service with limited language support. The room is super clean and an environmentally friendly option is provided. The hotel's public bath/spa is the best, considering it is not a hot spring hotel. The location granted easy access to both train stations, which is very easy to access most of the attractions. 5-minute walk to cafes, restaurants, shopping, and more.

One of the best in Kyoto”
We booked Solaria Hotel for 3 nights when we were in Kyoto. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Their English speaking level is decent enough to handle most of the queries we have. Location wise, it is just a 5 mins walk to two train stations, and some bus stops as well. Along with the same street of this hotel, there are quite a lot of restaurants/bars/small eatery around. One of the most commendable part of this hotel is their facilities and room size. The room size is spacious with all the furnitures well maintained. There is a public bath at their basement level which is free to access for all the guests. We totally enjoyed that during our stay there. With the price we paid and everything mentioned-above, this hotel easily scores a 5/5, if not at least 4.5/5. We will definitely revisit again in our next trip to Kyoto again.

Excellent location and nice public Onsen ”
Walking distance to Nishiki market and gion. Easy to get from the hotel to Arashiyama and Inari shrine. Excellent and very helpful staff . Room was smaller than expected but despite this we really enjoyed our stay and we are looking forward for our future stay here. It was memorable

Great location, facility and staff”
It is conveniently located 2 mins from subway (connection to Kyoto Station). Short walking distance to Gion and Nishiki market. Bus number 5 also runs through there. It sits next to a canal with wonderful view. The staff is extremely helpful and speaks English. One of the ladies even helped us made a kaiseki dinner reservation which would be otherwise impossible for non-Japanese speakers.

Extremely great location and place”
Visitors to Kyoto will be extremely pleased to stay at this place. 2 blocks from the Pontacho, 1 metro station, one Keihan station, and one JR station within 10 minute walk. The best shopping in the shotengai is right there and all the other stores. The river is right there. The staff were wonderful and helpful as can always be expected at a nice hotel in Japan. The onsen is wonderful.

Always a fan of the solaria nishitetsu hotels. Service is good but a bit limited because of the covid restrictions. But location is very good. Very close to the train station, good restaurants and stores. Hotel is also very clean and comfortable.

Very good location as it intersects the Tozai subway and Keihan rail lines. Close to great places to eat. Room was excellent. I didn't take the breakfast, but there are a few cafes nearby for great breakfast.

The hotel is located next to the subway (Tozai and Keihan) thus it’s very convenient. The rooms are spacious and comfy to stay in, they also have good facilities like public bath and washing machines to use. Highly recommended!

Clean room with great staff”
Staff was super friendly, especially the breakfast buffet staff! The rooms were on the small side, but adequately enough to be comfortable. The moss wall (view bath) does get a little dark during the day, so if you want sunlight, recommend booking another room. Close to the City Hall subway station, Sanjo station, and bus stations for easy public transportation access and walkable to the main sights as well.

Wonderful time in Kyoto”
It is placed in the downtown of Kyoto, so we were very useful and easily to go to shopping or having lunch/dinner. It is also near by the station which is going to Osaka directly (no change!)! The hotel stuff asked me if we would like to upgrade our room with really cheep extra charge. Obviously we did! We changed the room to River View Twin bed, it was amazing! The room was bigger than I thought, was very clean. There are little Japanese sweet, it was very tasty. Only I had a problem that the sink was very small. So I couldn’t make up easily. The shower was not too strong pressure. But they had the bath salt as a amenities, and it was very nice. I would love to stay here again!

Convenient hotel”
Great hotel in a convenient location near Sanjo and the Kamogawa. Booked a View Bath Twin Room with the windows facing inward toward a moss wall. It was really cool but sometimes the room got a little dark during daytime as there is not much sunlight. Room size was adequate for one medium suitcase but may be a bit more packed if there is more than one. The breakfast spread was great, but most days it remained the same. Staff was super friendly and could also help in a variety of languages. The public bath and laundry on the basement floor was also a nice addition.
