Hello, we are an Afghan familly we speak persian and no german skill, we were very happy that the kind lady at the reception was Iranian and spoke persian with us, she was very helpfull and kind, also the other staff were very kind and helpfull, all of them with excellent English skill, rooms were very clean and big, lonely negative point we expected the breakfast with better choice, but still not a big problem, once again special thanx to the iranian lady at the reception and other staff members for being kind, I hardly recommend this hotel as the price was not bad either, you will not regret Best regards SAIAS ABDUL

As said in the title, the hostel was very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the hostel's location ist extremely central - right in front of the main station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof). Even though we booked a twin room, we got upgraded to a 4-bed room (maybe just bc the rooms were free and/or our still occupied?) and also got two towels after asking, which are included in the single and twin rooms, but not in the bigger ones. Each bed had very convenient plugs for all our electronic devices (2 power outlets and 2 USB sockets) and even a small reading lamp. The bed were pretty narrow (80cm?). It might be sufficient for a person like me (1,66m/60kg), but I don't know how it might feel for taller/wider guests. The bathrooms were kinda small and very much the same as the Japanese business hotel bathrooms: slightly elevated and the inside walls are all plastic. The toilet was just a normal one though - no high-tech ;) But everything was very clean. Besides being right in front of the main station our room (416) was very quiet except for the occasional heavy thump from the guest right above us. The breakfast buffet for 5,50€ (not included in room prices) was a little disappointing - dry bread (albeit 3 types to choose from) and cheap meat (pork and chicken) and cheese. Hardly any veggies and no fruit. The coffee was instant and tasted awful. There was plenty of prepacked tea to choose from though and cereals, which we didn't try. I'd advise to get something to eat from one of the coffee shops in the main station for breakfast. It won't be necessarily more expensive, but definitely tastier. Overall we really liked the hostel. Given the opportunity, I'm definitely coming back. I might add that we were weekend sightseeing tourists, away from around 9am to 10pm or later and just needed a clean, private place to sleep at and didn't expect any luxury or room service.

They did not have my booking when arrived .It took them 35 mins to sort out a room for me which was very worrying. The hotel is good value clean and secure. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Don't worry about the street outside as mentioned in other reviews it's just like any other centre near a train station.Would stay here anytime in the future.Best value in Hamburg in my opinion.

It is a great experience with the Europaeischer Hor. The staff is nice and express in English very well. The surprise of this hotel is the mini themepark and the indoor pool which is fantastic. I check in during evening, Hotel compliment us HVV ticket which provide the Bus & train service for 3 day, it is great. The location which near to the town and shopping heaven, let us enjoy the shopping as well as food surrounding. During the morning, after a great session of jogging surrounding the Harmburg, I continue for the short gym session at hotel highest floor, then continue with the 30 minute of indoor swimming pool. After my exercise, I do join a great breakfast with my wife. We miss this hotel after checkout and thank to the staff for the great service. I will definitely come back again for my 2nd visit. We booked this hotel because we wanted to stay near the city centre. This hotel is across the road to the main trainstation and another 5 minutes walk to the main shopping street and also the lake. The check in was efficient and the rooms were large and clean. Wifi is complimentary and the staff were very friendly. The only concern we have is the dim lights at the hallway which we later found out there were switches on the hall to turn more lights on. Overall, it was good value for money and we truly enjoyed our stay

Having stayed in Hamburg hotels in rooms the size of large closets, I was very pleased at the size of the room, not to mention the smart clean design. As long as a room is available, I will stay at the SuiteHotel when I am in Hamburg. It would be nice if there were more restaurents that are open in the evening nearby, but they are still in walking distance. Subway stop is across the street making for a quick jaunt to the central station or downtown. Very low price for room of this size in Hamburg.

stayed there 1 night recently; the hotel has not been "ranked" yet. well, it is situated in an area which is hard to a redlight district (st. georg close to the station) but on the other hand very central. the room was rather small for a double room but clean (including the beds). it was "medium-nosey" (slamming doors around the floor, so, the door could be more stable ie. noise-isolating). the bathroom was ok. breakfast was still ok., a bit plain, though (buffet). the personnel was very friendly. i have to underline again that, although rather old, the building was really clean and the "usual features" of a hotel (eg., fresh towels) were performed. nonetheless and all in all i'd say that it was not a single cent worth more than its charges, which were rather modest.

At the time of check in, I was asked to go to a sister (same 3 star) hotel 100 metre down the road, not a problem if it's not with baggage. The reception at the next hotel was serious looking, though a later staff was more friendly. Wifi was a little complicated which required a specific setup, and it's not password protected so I was a bit concerned and restricted to what sites to access for security. Also, it's limited to access for one device The hotel was very easy to find, just a short walk from the Central Station, and there're both S and U subway stations nearby. Even walking to the city hall is within 15 mins, and there're many high quality shops on the way if shopping interest you. There're plenty of grocery stores and restaurants nearby, but on the other hand, there're many somewhat odd people roaming around near the hotel area. It didn't really bother me after getting a little more used to afterwards, but some people might feel uncomfortable. The included breakfast was quite ok with reasonable variety. The room was smallish in size, though not inconsistent to similar class hotel.

My stay at the George Hotel was very enjoyable. The friendly staff were always helpful. The bar is very well presented and often provided a lively atmosphere in the evenings without being overbearing, the bar staff were always friendly and willing to offer drinks recommendations (they have an extensive array of spirits - I found a new favourite gin -Tanqueray Bloomsbury). The room was very comfortable and the 6th floor spa area relaxing and peaceful. Unlike some others reviews I have seen I had no problem with the wifi at the hotel - it worked well. The location of the hotel is also good - 15 min walk from Hamburg Hbf along a relatively quiet street littered with bars, cafes and shops. I stayed at the George Hotel for 1 week (Friday to Friday) and if I go back to Hamburg then I will stay there again.

The hotel was decent value. It is located very near the main train station, which was the reason I selected it. The location itself is a bit of a redlight district, but didn't feel unsafe, so everything was good. Nothing to complain about the room itself: it was clean, spacious, it had double windows, so no noise from the street and quiet dreams! The only little thing was the matress, which was a bit soft for my taste. Regarding the bathroom, hot water came fast, it was clean, but didn't come with any accessories, like a comb, hand soap, etc. The breakfast was OK, with a reasonable selection, but nothing fantastic, or fresh. Everything seemed to be out of a plastic packaging, and the place where you fill up your plate is rather small, and quickly gets cramped. The final point is that the hotel is full of stairs, and the elevator is not easily accessible (located on the first floor). All in all, I was happy with my stay, as I was in Hamburg for business, and wanted to be close the station. Service was efficient, and I had no issues. I would not recommend it for couples or families, mainly because of the neighbourhood.

This place was the cheapest place for us to stay in Hamburg so we booked with low expectations. The room we got was small but came with a shower and a sink. The beds were overall clean however some ants were crawling around the room. Wifi is free along with breakfast. The TV in our room didn't work but we didn't really care. A subway station is only 2 minutes away and the main train station is a 10 minute walk. The neighborhood is primarily Muslim which means great food but not much nightlife. I would stay here again.

I was actually travelling with my daughter, so none of the above travelling categories applied. The best thing about the hotel is the location, so easy to get to and from the airport. The room was a lovely size, large twin, bathroom was lovely and big too. A lot of thoughtful touches. A decent iron and ironing board, a proper size hair dryer etc. Plenty of hot water and a roomy shower. Everything was clean and worked well.

My review is AFTER the renovations were completed: An amazing classy hotel in Hamburg with top services, world class spa(sauna + pool are free for guests), free high-speed WIFI, free mineral water, daily turndown services, great buffet breakfast and piano bar! A short walk from Hamburg Hauptbanhof(central train station), this hotel is a classy destination of celebrities and head of states with a yearly ball (Palm Beach style!). TOP concierge team: they booked for us both Friday/Saturday two top sold-out upscale restaurants in a very short notice. A late check-out and baggage hold was also provided without any charges.
