Great old classic hotel. If you could stay here you should. It's extremely unique. Old old old and I loved that. Bricks and wood showing. Best part is that it's right in the middle of the old town. You never have to worry about where you are. I loved it. One of my favorite hotels.

As it is a multi storied building it is no good for elderly travellers as it has no lift and it has long corridors and rooms on the same floor located on different levels with stairs to reach them. Other travellers might find this ok if a bit quaint.

      Good”

The location of the hotel is great because it is in the middle of the beautiful old town. The entrance to the hotel is a bit strange as you have to enter through an iron gate which is usually closed. The hotel's name sign is high on the wall and can be seen far into the street, but there is no sign at the gate and it is easy to doubt whether it is the right entrance at all. The hotel is a bit labyrinthine and somehow castle-like, which my child was excited about. The hallways with their old paintings and furniture are fascinating. I do not recommend the hotel for people with reduced mobility as there is a lot of walking and stairs. The rooms are so-called standard hotel rooms, and we slept well in our wide beds. The bathroom was very clean and looked new. The breakfast was quite basic and a little disappointing, but we still got our stomachs full and that's the most important thing.

      Inexpensive but disappointing…”

Firstly, as an English speaking traveller I always find it useful when hotel staff speak at least some English - it’s helpful and pleasant. Don’t expect that here! Secondly, the noise - wooden floorboards in the corridors mean that you hear everybody coming and going, and the people in the upstairs room sound like they are coming through your ceiling. To crown that, the second night I stayed, there was some form or reception with DJ and loud music until 3 in the morning. Not very considerate towards the hotel patrons, I think. I asked to be moved to a quieter room away from the reception (mine was the room closest to the hall) but was told not possible - I should never have been put in that room to start with knowing there was an all night party on Friday…they should’ve given that room to one of the actual party guests. All things considered I’d rate this hotel as quite below average in most aspects.

in the center of the old city

The old city of Tallinn is surprisingly large and worth a day trip from Helsinki. We left our main suitcases in the hotel in Helsinki in which we stayed at either end of our trip to Tallinn and walked from the Lindaline dock to the hotel (about 15 min). The hotel was perfectly placed and one of the fun places we've stayed in. A bunch of old buildings were renovated and interconnected, so walking to our room was a kick. The room was large enough and very quiet--good beds and good showers. All in all, this helped make it a memorable 24 hr in Tallinn.

charming rooms in period style building

This relatively small hotel is located in an old converted merchants house where you can feel the history of the city. Fantastic rooms have incorporated period features and retain the character of Europe from the 17th/18th century. Nevetheless the hotel has been updated to be equipped with all modern feature required. Ideal location for browsing in the old town of Tallinn.

Good Choice for Exploring Tallinn Old Town”

It is one of Tallinn Historical Hotels. Because of excellent position in the old town, it is easy to reach town hall square, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and Kohtuotsa Viewing platform. Breakfast is amazing.

      Nice central cosy hotel”

Good breakfast, short walk to airport bus walking distance to most turist sites

The hotel is very interesting showing the original old time structure. Setting is aristocratic and hardlu no rooms are alike.Very friendly and efficient staff in reception and brekafsat room. Buffet breakfast very big makes it hard to eat anything before dinner. Hotel situated in walking distance to any tourist atraction. Public bus no 2 just outside the airport bring you to a short 15 minutes walk to the hotel. Most of the walk through the butiful old town.

      Excellent Hotel”

      Location Building Breakfast Room amenities
      Building Construction No elevators

Stay in building roughly five hundred years old in the middle of a great city. This gives everything a great deal of character. The rooms are very well furnished and the amenities are very good. Breakfast was served in great dining area and had good choices. Two areas to consider is that if you are directionally challenged you may have trouble finding your way around the hotel maze. There is also no elevator for hauling bags up several flight of narrow stairs can be difficult.

      Fantastic old building”

Great location in the old city, very warm room with hot showers and a huge breakfast in the morning!

This is a very old historic building situated right in the heart of the old town & only a short taxi ride from the ferry terminal. The building is from the 15th century so the stairs leading to the upper floor rooms are a little narrow but this only adds to the character. The room is spacious with plenty of hot water & wi fi is free and available in the room. Breakfast is situated in a lovely historic room containing many paintings depicting past scenes. Breakfast is very plentiful with a variety of hot and cold choices. The reception staff were extremely helpful on check out. We have no problem recommending this hotel.

Great location, ridiculous trying to find room in maze”

Brilliant location, right on one of the main drags in Old Town Tallinn. Can walk there from the ferry inn 20 minutes, easy to get to everything. Room 323 (and all the rooms really) are in a ridiculous maze of passageways and stairways with no rhyme or reason. If you are not highly mobile don't book here. Breakfast was decent, not as good as most 3-4 star hotels though.
