We chose Tennoji Miyako because of the great reviews, and because of its location (literally across the street from Tennoji station, where we were planning to take an 8am train south to Kii-tanabe to hike the Kumano Kodo). The stay was great, the location superbly convenient to both Wakayama and Namba (we had dinner at Dotombori the night before). I spoke only a little Japanese, and the Miyako staff were able to accommodate very well (even helped us with luggage forwarding!) Of all the hotels we stayed at during our 14 day visit to Japan, Tennoji Miyako Hotel had the most spacious rooms. Though definitely not a luxury experience, great value for your money. Recommended.

The best thing I love about this hotel is that it is just beside the Kintetsu train station, as it is just one train ride away from Kobe and Nara, no transfers needed. So it’s great for exploring other places instead of just being stuck in the Namba area. Secondly it’s great that the airport limousine bus stops right outside the hotel. So convenient specially if you got heavy luggages. There’s a family mart, bakeries, coffee shop, supermarket, restaurants beside the hotel. Uniqlo and Muji are also behind the hotel. Don Quixote is walking distance from the hotel. Hotel room is clean, no complaints. Although the booking I got was without breakfast, and their breakfast is quite expensive. Although their rates are very reasonable, it’s cheaper than my original booking with Ibis Styles which is only a 3 star, while Sheraton is 4-5 stars, so i changed my booking to Sheraton. Overall I’m a satisfied customer. Will definitely stay here again next time.

The Osaka Marriott Miyako hotel is beautifully located in downtown Osaka, right next to the Tennoji station and above the Osaka-Abenobashi underground station. From Kansai airport arrivals, take the escalator to 2/F and walk over the pedestrian bridge to the JR station. I bought a train ticket to town for $12. Could have taken the express train for $25 but the regular train left first so I took it. You walk out of the JR ticket office and directly opposite take an escalator down to the platform. Arrived Tennoji about 40 minutes later. Exit on south side, cross the street for G/F entrance to Marriott. Lobby is on 19th Floor. Going back out to Kansai airport I took hotel arranged taxi for ¥11,000 or $100. 45 mins to airport. The hotel itself is modern and nicely designed. Beautiful western restaurant on 57th floor with a superb pasta. Fantastic views of Osaka, as the Miyako Tower is the highest building in Osaka. Separately an excellent Teppanyaki Restaurant on the same floor. Also excellent. One issue - for socialising the 19/F hotel lobby bar is a bit quiet, although the bar staff are very good. I tried the Hibiki whisky and the Kraken rum. The room rates are very reasonable and the room cleaning staff were very diligent. Concierge lady was excellent. Be aware most taxis cannot find the street entrance. The correct taxi stand is 100m up the street from the G/f entrance.

This hotel is all about location and service! The location is perfect, not too close to Tennoji Station (that you can hear noises from the busy nightlife) also not too far from Tennoji Station (that you may think about the struggle with your luggage). Receptionist is friendly, speaks fluent English and provides many useful tips. Even the room is small compared to other properties, this 3-star hotel is very well-equipped with many amenities, especially for skin-care product from famous Japanese brand like DHC, Kracie. They even have facial steamer and 2-style hair curler (Impressive). Will recommend to family and friends.

The hotel is super close to Tennoji station which makes travel in Osaka super easy. The rooms are a bit bigger than a normal Japanese hotel room which is nice. The pre-fabricated bathrooms are a little disappointing however they do their job and they’re kept very clean. Breakfast, I can’t say how disappointing this was. Their photos are totally misleading with no where near the options you are lead to believe are on offer. We ensured our booking included breakfast, we turned up once, looked at the food and left. There is obviously and understandably an English language barrier. Normally this situation would have called for a partial refund of our booking however we decided it was best to spend time in a beautiful city instead of squabble over breakfast in a language which wouldn’t have been understood. Saving grace! The massive Q’s Mall and tonnes of other great food places around meant that food was never an issue. Thankfully the hotel also provided two pod coffees each morning, this saved them a little and earned a star here or there. Would I stay here again? Only if I had to. I would attempt to find another hotel similarly close to Tennoji station. Sorry, but the breakfast really did it for us.

This is our first experience with a property in the APA chain, and we are impressed. It is a basic hotel which feels like it was built with business travellers in mind. So, expect a small room with good basic necessities – clean, comfy bed and clean bathroom with basic toiletries. The location is wonderful. It is accessible by both the underground mall/walkway and an overhead bridge. It is also across the road from Tennoji Park, where there are plenty of modern cafes and western restaurants, all open into the night.

Enjoyable, comfortable stay. Comfortable sized apartment-size rooms. Neat, efficient use of space with flourishes of modern, efficient Japanese design (twin fire escapes, metal doors, motion activated corridor lights etc). Free wi-fi, with Netflix. Kids loved it! Quiet, family neighbourhood. Close to the famous Shitennoji shrine, Tennoji zoo. Has a well stocked supermarket a 2-minute walk away. Bliss! 5 mins walk from the Shitennoji-Mae Yuhigaoka subway station (1 station away Tennoji station - well connected to KIX ). 15 mins nice walk thru quiet neighbourhoods, from Tennoji station - great to warm up for (& wind down from) hectic Osaka. 5 stars! If you're traveling/staying to Osaka, I HIGHLY recommend this place. We are a family of four and our room is truly comfortable. The place is very very clean and quiet. You can use their facilities (ie. kitchen, living room and dining room) for free. They also have vending machine, coffee/tea machine and FOOT BATH! Who wouldn't like that? We can relax our feet after a whole day of walking. The place is very near the station. Tennoji station is one of the main stations in Osaka. The airport is conveniently accessible and the Haruka Express stops on Tennoji. This is good news if you're going to Shin-Osaka and Kyoto. If you get hungry, it is also near 7Eleven and Family Mart. We have no regrets staying here. It is cheap but you get more than what you pay for.

Very nice studio and accessible to several tourist locations like Tennoji Zoo, Tennoji Park and Tsutenkaku Tower. About 10 min walk to the nearest subway terminal (beside police station). About 5 min walk from a grocery. The room was clean when we arrived but for some reason, we kept getting dust bunnies. Shoes were supposed to be left by the door and there's a shelf for them. House slippers are provided. The place has a vacuum cleaner so cleaning was no problem. It also has a microwave, toaster oven, fridge/freezer, induction cooker, washing machine (but no dryer), hair dryer, iron and ironing board, an area to hang laundry, and that Japanese bidet that never ceases to amaze foreigners like me. Toiletries and towels were available and water was never an issue. Aircon was always cool. View of the neighborhood from the verandah is nothing to write home about. The only drawback was having to sleep on the floor. Futons and cushions are provided but need to get used to that.

The hotel is excellent if you are using Kintetsu line and Kansai airport limousine bus service - both within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. It is very useful to catch the bus to the airport early morning to avoid the morning peak traffic with the subway. Subway station is a bit further away with about 10 minutes walk, which is fine as it is linked with underground from Kintetsu. The staff is not very fluent in English but he is trying his best to help us. Most of the times the staff is in the office so you will need to ring them out to the reception. My double bed unit is spacious and comfortable, with a queen size bed and another sofa bed beside it, and there is also a small balcony outside the unit. The toilet is the usual Japanese size, the water temperature in my unit takes a few minutes to heat up though. Bedding is very comfortable and the air conditioner is working perfectly. The washer and dryer are very cheap. Overall this is a great stay for apartment style accomodation.

Half the time i was cursing myself for choosing this hotel and other half the time i was praising myself for choosing this hotel. Cursing Myself: At least 7 to 10 minutes of walk from the nearest metro station - Ebisucho, a 7 to 10 minutes walk is nothing to worry about if it was a bustling neighborhood but it wasn't and i was travelling alone, it got unnerving when i was walking back at 10, 11 pm at night. Praising Myself: It is a nice respite from the vibrancy in Osaka, the setting of the rooms gives you more space than the normal hotel rooms, coupled with the tatami and a very comfortable bed, i slept well through the night. Staff tried their best with English and were also eager to help. The breakfast was simple but good for taking a break from all the heavy cuisine.

This boutique hotel was a gem! Close to tsuruhashi subways station (exit 4 if you have luggage for the lift or exit 3, go left, there will be an alley way, walk down for about a 1/4 mile, turn right when you reach the main road and hotel trad will be on your right about 100 feet from alleyway) or same distance from momodani station (JR line) opposite direction. The rooms were very clean and spacious, staff were all very nice and helpful and the wifi was very strong. I LoVED the furo style bathRoom ( in Japan you fill the tub with water - but scrub and rinse yourself first, then relax and soak in the tub)- it was really good after a entire day of shopping. There is a kitchenette for your use but the surrounding area has a lot of local cheap eats that I would suggest. Tsuruhashi station is surrounded by a lot of yakiniku places. Very delicious and there is also dried seafood stalls for gifts to take back home (Omiyage). I would strongly suggest to explore this neighborhood! A++++

Very comfortable room. Blessed to be placed in a room of 4 person as I’m staying there for 10 nights. It’s clean too. Bed is soft and pillow is rather thin, but no matter as I used the duvet (as it’s summer) as the bottom layer of my pillow. It’s comfy and I slept like a log. Toilet is available at every floor. But shower room & laundry place is only available on the 2nd floor. There’s 4 shower stalls for each gender and there’s no queue so far during my entire stay during morning and evening. If you can’t sleep, you can watch movies, anime or Japanese dramas on the TV /Netflix in the common area. Play some video games, guitar. Laptop use is also free. It’s conveniently located near Teradacho stn (1 stn away from Tennoji stn) - JR Osaka Loop. Only about 5mins walk or less. Plenty of affordable eateries nearby. There’s also 7E at the station and Family Mart nearby. I would definitely stay there again. Everyone respected one another there.

Our stay at Hotel International House Osaka was great. The area is clean and peaceful, great for long walks and going about the area. It's accessible and convenient and just a short walk away from 2 train stations and a bus station to and from kansai international airport. There are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores and malls along the area so everything is within a comfortable distance. There's an organic shop near as well, a do-it-yourself laundry shop, coffee and tea shops, ice cream shops and authentic japanese restos as well as lots of temples and zen gardens. The hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful and always with a smile on their faces. The rooms are clean and well ventilated and well supplied. We received a lot of freebies as well when we checked-in so it was a plus. The hotel is just a few train stops aways from Dontonbori (Namba station) and Tennoji Zoo and Park. Overall, we had a great stay in this hotel and I recommend it to anyone who wants to go to Osaka.

Overall it's decent and very clean. Very convenient location as it's very close to Tennoji Station. Take Exit 16 from the Tennoji METRO station. Free ticket to the Harukas 300 observatory which is very nice for tourists! Friendly staff, and there are cup noodles to purchase and a vending machine for drinks at the hostel for your convenience. Bed is quite comfortable, with closed curtains and your own personal light. Very close to Tennoji station, which is quite a decent location to stay. It's near Tennoji Park and the Zoo, also quite near Mio mall and a department store. However, a few negatives: no bath towels provided, and you have to make your own bed. The price range of this hotel isn't SO cheap to the point that such things cannot be provided.. I have been to guesthouses that cost the same and still provide bath towels and a made bed. Also they don't have their own WIFI; there is a public WIFI to use but you have to re-connect every 60 mins. But overall still had a good stay !

We are a family of four and only a 6-person Japanese room was available at the time of booking. The room is huge with cozy Japanese style decorations, and the price is very reasonable compared to other hotels available at the busy summer time. Bathroom is small but provate with everything we need. We arrived later than 9pm and didn't notice the policy to contact the property for late arrival in advance until we were about to board the plane from Sapporo to Osaka. We contacted Mr. Lee listed on the hotel's Special Check-in instructions, and was happy to learn that he could pick us up from the airport at a discount as hotel guests. That was a great help for our family especially with my 81-year old mother and all the luggages. On the day we left for Tokyo, Mr. Lee and another hotel staff also drove us to the JR station where we could arrive at our Tokyo destination without any transfers, and they gave us the great suggestion to purchase the free seating JR tickets. Mr. Lee made sure we got the right tickets before he left the station. The location of the hotel is convenient for sight seeings in Osaka or Kyoto with the Uehonmachi station just 2 minutes away on foot.

I travelled alone for the first time and it was also my first time in Japan. The staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to answer my answers to the best of their abilities, despite the presence of a small language barrier. Breakfast is simple but filling. My single room was big and I had enough room to move about even when my suitcase was open on the floor. The hotel is in between two JR stations and Tennoji being a main station, meant that it made getting to Kyoto and Kansai Airport that much simpler. Only thing I can fault is that they dont have weighing scales available so I could only hope that my luggage wasn't overweight when I got to the airport.

The room is big, stylish and spacious. Although it is a love hotel, they allow children to stay if accompanied with adults. Their hotel room has many amenities, robe that can use as towel, pyjamas, brush, hair dryer etc. Very comfortable stay and they have a big bath tub with jacuzzi too. Location is near train station too and washing machine available beside the hotel. They also provide a 3rd bed for child and aircon can be adjust to cold or heater. For those who don’t mind it is a love hotel, suitable for family and couples .

Location: Very near Osaka Loop Tsuruhashi Station. Very near a Lawson Store. If you have small children like me it has a nearby playground that my kids enjoyed 😃 Value for Money: I booked super early that’s why I got a good deal. I suggest to plan ahead your trip so that you can also book your hotel early as well Cleanliness: When we arrived, I saw some dust on the floor and stains on bedsheet. I suggest that you also provide a simple broom & dustpan so that your guests can do a bit of cleaning specially those staying 3++days. As you have a self check in and there is no visible staff available, I think this is a necessity. Staff: I needed to call the staff to ask for help during check in using the phone on the entrance door and I was able to contact her easily. The staff was very helpful and kind Facilities: We loved our room, that looks like a little home 😃. It has a small kitchen where you can do so light cooking with complete utensils. I loved that you provided a washing machine and laundry detergent, we are able to wash some of our clothes, the best part is the bathroom, you can hang your washed clothes overnight and it will be dried out with the help of the exhaust. Really amazing! 101% recommended! And will definitely book with them again if we plan to come back to Osaka

Ooooh yeeaa. This hostel is one of the best in comparison to many other good hostel around the world including in Osaka, Japan. Its has very large community room equipped with free TV, hot water & teas. Its location is the most convenient to bus/train stations. Restaurants, supermarket & local shopping are out of this world. For a very very unique restaurant that serves real gold metal you can eat with your salad & grill your own blowfish & in a very 100% Japanese style environment & services. I do not speak/read/write any Japanese but the young Japanese server invest his time to assist me throughout the meal. I enjoyed - a lot - The restaurant locates around 5 minutes walk from the Hotel Sakura on the right hand side when you walk out of the hotel & on the other side of the main street in front of the Hotel Sakura side - almost across from Sheraton Miyako Hotel. The cost is around 75USD/person.

Took a quick trip with my daughter to Universal Studios Japan (USJ) and saw Hotel Awina at a great price. It was about a 40 minute trip by subway and trains to get to USJ but I paid less than a third of the price for hotels next to the property. It was also fairly close to the Dotonbori River-Walk; lots of shopping and fun sights. Staff was very helpful, and with their limited English and my very limited Japanese, we managed to work through check in and luggage storage. Hotel Awina is a five minute walk from the Uehommachi station so very easy to get to. It took us about 30 minutes to get back to the Osaka Shin when leaving. I definitely recommend this hotel.
