One of the better hotels I stayed in Japan. A fresh approach to single occupancy rooms. Liked room layout and decorations a lot: simple, yet tasteful. Facilities and room were very clean. A large bathroom: if you cannot fit into those standard Japanese "bath units" - definitely check this place out. Downsides are standard for most Japanese hotels. If you are taller than 175cm - except not to be very comfortable in the bed. Mattress and pillow were too hard for my liking. Don't think I can deduct any points here.

The hotel locates 3 min walk from the subway station. Very clean,\. The breakfast provided is really good and tasty. the room is small about 11 m sq bust the bath ab is relatively wide and the bathroom is clean.

It was cheap for the amount of comfort and privacy it provides. The location is only close to Nijo castle, but taking buses aren't too difficult in Kyoto. It is pretty far from the train station but that's for you to consider.

I was lucky enough to find an affordable room here during the crowded Gion Festival. It’s a bit far from the city center near Nijo Castle, but access is convenient by subway. Very comfortable room if a bit small; manga in the lobby is a nice touch; staff were extremely helpful!

I have been here for 4 nights and Hedistar Hotel provided me a comfortable and valuable place. Thanks for upgrading me to corner room and I really enjoy the view of Kyoto, all the facilities in this hotel are new, clean and with nice branding. Independent air conditioning inside room so that I can choose to enjoy warm or cool air. One highlighted is their gentleness. They found that I was uplifting my pillow by towel, and they provided an extra pillow for me on the next day which I am really appreciated. Will definitely come back again next time!

I love the Hedistar hotel, it located at the main street with convenient transportation system. you can exit from Nijojo Mae station , exit 1 with elevator and Escalator for those carry big luggage. The Bento for breakfast is simple and Tasty. there is bus from Hotel to alot of tourist spot, example Kinkaku-Ji - Bus 101 and 9 or12. if you are travelling by bus one that day(>3 times/day) , you can buy the one day bus pass on the bus or Kyoto main bus station for Yen600. if you take bus from Kyoto station, Bus 9 can reach hotel, drop of @ Horikawa Oike station.

Great Budget Hotel”
The hotel is very modern, the staff can speak English properly, there is a mini bar with various free drinks, soups and snacks. The room is larger than most budget hotels, the bathroom is bigger than most budget hotels too, very modern and toiletries are efficiently placed feeling more spacious than usual. They provide a lot of amenities. Location is very good just 2 streets away from Nijojomae station, few tourist attractions nearby - Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle, National Manga Museum. A few downsides, most hotels will have beach view, pool view, or city view, economy rooms' window here however is directly facing the neighboring building's wall giving you a window view, premium rooms have proper city view windows. And this hotel is the only 1 that does not include lodging fee, and they will request you to pay that up separately. Overall very satisfactory.

THE ROOM IS SMALL BUT COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. BREAKFAST PROVIDE BENTO AND DRINK TOOOO....THE STAFF IS SUPER GOOD AND HELPFUL. THE HOTEL NEAR TO NIJIJO CASTLE. THE GOOD THINGS IS HOTEL FRONT GOT BUS STOP (HORIKAWA OIKE) AND CAN FROM KYOTO STATION DIRECT TO HOTEL.

I loved the help when I asked for a room with a window that opens. The staff were very understanding and supportive. The room was small but lovely and had everything to make me feel comfortable and at home. The location was good with convenience stores nearby and I could walk to the shopping and restaurant areas easily. Would recommend the hotel and will return to stay again.

Pros - Cosy atmosphere, Laundromat available, polite and helpful staffs. Building is walking distance to subway station and Nijo Castle. There's a family mart nearby as well. Cons - None so far! Maybe if you have lots of big luggages with you, it might be slightly inconvenient when taking the subway.
