I have and will continue to recommend Hermitage to anyone visiting Jakarta. Due unforeseen reasons I was not able to accompany my parents. I called the hotel and told them to please take care of my parents and to my surprise they did so beyond my expectation. Upon arrival they were checked in with easy, phones and notebooks configured to wifi, they even offered to buy local SIM cards. Car n driver I arranged were not to expectation. The hotel immediately arranged their car & driver for parents at very decent rate. I can go on above their services, Thank you Hermitage for taking excellent care of my parents while in Jakarta.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway at The Hermitage”

It's a 2-year wedding anniversary for me & my wife, but we haven't got much time to go abroad as I got a lot of work to do towards the end of the year. So my wife decided why don't we stay at The Hermitage for a night, and have an in-room dining instead? What sounded like a simple idea turns out to be a wonderful getaway for us. We heard about the nice room and good eats at The Hermitage, but our stay experience were above of our expectation. We had the standard double room that turned out to be really spacey, and was given such nice touches such as toiletries from Luxury brand, ETRO, and then Tea selection from TWG, and coffee from Illy. The people are very nice, we ordered in-room dining for the night, with tables and everything, it was good, pizza's are nice, beef ribs are good, potato dauphinoise are excellent, and mac&cheese was proper. We had a great breakfast for the next morning at L'Avenue, with mixed selections of classic Indonesian, european, and american breakfast. From porridge, to opor, to poached potato, to bacon & sausages. Would love to recommend the hotel and would love to stay another night there. When we checked out, the lady told us if we're about to comeback there, tell 'em our names, and we'll be given an upgrade to a better room. Wonderful!

Excellent Stay”

A spacious and bright room hotel, with a very excellent service from all the staffs.. I like the breakfast, my partner also said the best massage ever had, I love the swimming pool ambiance. The bed is excellent, I love the firm and not too hard for our back, LOL.. The building itself was renovated well, and they also tell the story through the pictures on the wall.. But the awareness of this hotel still low, every time I informed taxi driver to take us to the hermitage, they did not know. sometimes when I mentioned the street name. So I always direct the taxi driver to go to Imam Bonjol street first and I will guide them to arrive there. (well coz I am living in Jakarta, thats why its makes easier) And all those taxi driver said "never been to this hotel yet" (I was using Blue Bird and Silver Bird taxi service)

Beautiful Hotel”

The Hermitage Hotel just became one of my favorite hotel in Jakarta. I stayed a night there and I regret not for not staying long enough. :D Arrived at the hotel, i was surrounded with friendly staffs. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The room were comfy, spacious, quite clean and has soft nice bed. The interior design itself create very warm and romantic atmosphere around the hotel. The breakfast also great, limited variety but tasted great. High quality ingredients and well cooked. For facilities, small gym, roof top pool and bar are accessible for guest only. Overall stay was great and looking forward to be back again.

Retreat in the middle of town”

I don't often comment on agoda anymore since they scrapped the credits for it - unless it is well deserved or I am really annoyed. This is a case of "well deserved"! Hermitage is a lovingly restored heritage building near the government district of Jakàrta but also neighboring tourist attractions and business area around Thamrin. I actually live in Jakarta and love it as a week-end retreat without the horrendous traffic involved with travelling out of town. I love the quality of Restauration, the attentive staff, the homey atmosphere and privacy and the roof-top pool and bar area. One of the best value for money places I currently know. Reckon mend the Executive room or executive suite. You have to chose between balcony/Terrasse OR bath tub (I prefer the first as I hardly use the tub and love the possibility to sleep with the aircon off and the doors opened).

Truly a 5 star hotel, with impeccable service”

Remarkable hotel. Recently opened but in my opinion already setting the standard for Jakarta's luxureous hotel scene. Only 90 rooms in colonial villa style, with exceptional staff performance allowing you to feel a very welcomed and special guest. Perfection even within the little details. Whenever in Jakarta, i will choose The Hermitage. Without a doubt.

Tranquility in Jakarta”

Beautiful heritage hotel. Why herMitage? This is certainly not a cave for hermits. The hotel is a bit lingering between the Dutch colonial period and the present, as if it did not dare to make a choice The staff is impeccable, front desk is very helpful. Rooms are spacious, finally an aircon without noise. Good bedding. Negatives are the lounge, which is a bit out of sync with the rest of the hotel. The loveliest place is the library, but that is for smokers, alas. Don't forget the courtyard for having your coffee. Live music could be tuned down in the hall. We are not sure what to think of the restaurant. Breakfast is copious and no complaints. On teh contrary. But the menu for dinner is a bit weird. Make it either Colonial rijsttafel-ish or French or, even better, fusion, but we think that the chef could not make up his mind, so both selection and quality are disappointing for such a fine hotel. Are we coming back? Definitely.

Beautiful hotel”

We had such a pleasant stay here at The Hermitage for their good service in handling detailed guests such as myself. Staffs of the hotel are very helpful, informative and very easy for us to communicate with. The hotel is beautiful for its classic colonial design and suitable for guests whom wants to get away from the the busy city of jakarta for it is slightly further from the malls . There’s a Starbucks cafe nearby though. I would love to come back and stay at the Hermitage.

A little slice of paradise in the big durian”

I can't recommend this hotel enough. I have tried many of the other 'top' hotels in Jakarta and our experience at the Hermitage surpassed all other hotels in Jakarta.

Colonial Jakarta ”

If you want to experience a bit of colonial Jakarta this is the hotel - small boutique atmosphere in a quiet residential neighborhood with elegant restaurants and a short walk to Jalan Surabaya flea market. Staff is amazingly helpful and the rooftop pool, fitness room and bar can easily take you through a lovely morning ritual ending up the stair on the rooftop lounge to watch the afternoon thunderstorm roll in over Jakarta - a great view. Excellent buffet breakfast!

A classy but small 5-stars hotel in Jakarta perfect for an in-town getaway.”

We stayed for one night as a weekend getaway. The hotel is very tastefully designed with art deco influences (the building was built in 1920s). Rooms are beautiful and well equipped. Wifi was fast. TV complete channels. The roof top bar is a great place to end an evening. The price at about EUR 100.00 per nite stay for 2 (w/o breakfast) was very good value for a suite with separate living room. At the lounge, the waitress spilled a small amount of tea as she poured, but never said sorry. The next morning breakfast for 2 was ordered and delivered to the room, but came with only 1 set of cutlery. Food taste was average. Other than these, the staff was helpful and friendly. Both electrical outlets in the bathroom were not functional. At the small but wonderful roof top bar, the loudspeakers were not working as well. I asked for some music, so the staff played Top40 sounds from the pool bar 1 floor below (9th floor). Prices for drink were reasonable. Would I stay there again? Yes!

Our stay at The Hermitage Hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and extremely attentive. My only reservation was the hotel's recommendation to the Heritage Spa. Although the staff at the spa was very kind their services were not on par with your hotel.

Hidden Gem”

It was amazing! Me and my husband were falling in love with this hotel. When we are arrived they gave us compliment drinks, the we have got early check in at 10.40 am without extra charged. They are really know to handle a guest. The room was beyond words (if you're like a twist of classic modern then it's your hotel!). The bedding, bathroom, cleanliness, lighting, design, all was perfect. FYI in room tea and coffee are TWG & Illy. Breakfast was all good, perfect for 5 star hotel. So elegant, detail, professional. Many choices from Chicken Porridge, Pastry, Cakes, Egg Benedict, Waffles, Fruits, you name it. At night grab a drink while enjoying Jakarta's view (L'Vue Rooftop & Bar 9th Floor) It's easy to get a transport, either you use Uber or Blue Bird/Silver Bird from Hotel. Don't forget to taste Bunga Rampai Restaurant (Indonesian Cuisine) next to Hotel or you can go to Lara Djonggrang Restaurant (Indonesian Cuisine)

Unparalleled experience”

It was my second time at The Hermitage Hotel and again it exceeded my expectations when our rooms were upgraded to small suites. Amazing interiors and service, spa is aslo great. One of my favourite hotels in Indonesia!

We'll be beack”

Third time in the Hermitage. Again impeccable. The courtyard is a huge improvement, after having been open air. We wonder if guests will really appreciate the sound and vibe of the 9th floor, probably we are too old for that. We are still not enthused about the kitchen. The satay lunch was cold (re-heated from the fridge?). Unfortunately the kitchen caters too much to non-Indo food lovers. For those, just go 100m to the left and you will find a fantastic restaurant on the corner.

Had a great stay at the Hermitage which was still quite new. A beautiful building and the suite was done very nicely - comfortable and clean. The location is central but tucked away and nice and quiet. There is a nice little rooftop bar which was a very pleasant place for an evening drink .Overall a great experience.

Amazing decor like colonial 'Raffles 'Singapore'”

I had a fantastic time and it's the best hotel I have stayed in Asia especially in terms of value for money. A babysitter, Lydia, organised by the hotel for my 1 year old daughter was amazing. Attention to detail of the decor and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff didn't go unnoticed. Some small improvements can be made e.g. Drilling/moving furniture when guests are trying to relax by the pool, replenish minibar when items consumed, more attention to detail to avoid mistakes on check-out bill. Overall an amazing hotel in a very central location (10-15 min from Plaza Indonesia) where I would definitely return. Even the Spa is reasonably priced.

We choose hermatige for a weekend away. It was like a journey to previous times. A five star hotel representing the history of jakarta and indonesia. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Room was large, modern and clean. Would do it again....soon
