The bath was phenomenal! It was so relaxing to sit there and listen to nature. The kitchen was laid out very nicely and was super handy. Our host gave great recommendations for places nearby as well!

Truly an amazing place! The house is so unique and beautiful, with so many lovely design pieces (the ceramics! omg!) - and the hamman/bath was so so special. The bed is super comfy and cosy, the terrace and living area are incredible when you get a touch of sunshine, and the kitchen has all we needed to cook for a few evenings. We will be thinking/talking about this place for many years to come I’m sure :)

The only downside is if you don’t have your own car it’s quite expensive to reach by taxi from Kyoto city (we paid approx 8,000 yen each way). However, we did use the Lodge’s car when there to make a supermarket run to the next town which was very handy.

Authentic atmosphere with the flavor of Hinoku wood”

Amazing design and atmosphere inside the house surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest. Quiet, peaceful and authentic. All amenities, design details, bedding and kitchenware are clearly selected with care and from top brands. Great retro speakers! The bath and aroma of Hinoku wood around will definitely stay as a good memory about the place.

Magnifique maison traditionnelle aménagée de façon épurée et nichée au cœur de la campagne à environ 45 minutes de Kyoto mais ce logement vaut largement la peine de s'éloigner de la ville. Que dire... Nous y avons tout adoré, de la baignoire traditionnelle chauffante offrant une vue sur la nature avoisinante aux différents espaces de cette maison japonaise si accueillante. Côté pratique, la maison, très propre, dispose de tous les équipements permettant d'être autonome, d'une machine à laver et propose en sus la location de voiture si besoin. Notre hôte a toujours répondu à tous nos messages avec beaucoup de patience et a été d'une grande disponibilité, merci beaucoup ! Sachez que nous avons adoré notre séjour chez vous et que cela restera un souvenir à jamais gravé dans nos mémoires de ce voyage dans votre si beau pays.
