Great location just 2 mins away from train station with a convenient 711 next door… however… I noticed there was constant sirens throughout the night only to find a fire station close by.

I was hardly at the hotel as I was on a business trip. But the hotel is clean and has good facility. The location is convenient, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable.

Our favourite hotel during our 2 week stay in Japan! We loved the vessel! Drinks on arrival, perfect breakfast options for the family, free pram hire. A very cheap taxi fare to the train station for transporting luggage, otherwise subway very handy for day trips and 7-11 next door. The washer/dryer facilities are second to none and of course we loved the experience of the onsen every night. We have recommended to friends already and we would definitely stay again!

Review of the Japanese perspective”
Conveniently located right next to an underground station and next to a 7-Eleven. Many family customers. Large bathroom with sauna is a healing place. Free welcome drink is a nice touch. Service is minimal, partly due to the influence of Covid, but adequate. Beds are large but rooms are small. But for the price you can't complain.

Room is quite small but enough for 2 kids and 2 adults and 1 big luggage. Twin room got 2 double beds which makes it comfortable. Has an onsen of reasonable size.. love it! Reception has welcome drink at their lobby. This shows the hotel hospitality. Near many reasonably priced restaurants and is 12 mins walking to the morning market.

Awesome facilities with public bath. Offer free drink at the coffee shop before midnight daily. Furthermore, you can get free toiletries and mask right outside the entrance of coffee shop. However car park are usually full and you need to search parking nearby hotel.

Our hotel is located in the middle of town, and the number of the spaces for bigger cars are inadequate around here. Please come to Kyoto with smaller car next time. The first receptionist kept us waiting aside when there was only 20 minutes before the official checkin time. I and my little daughter had to pull our luggages away and wait, but people behind us got checked in immediately. I don’t know why. This is a good hotel, but not as wonderful as other hotels I stayed in Tokyo, Kobe, Tokushima.

A bit disappointing ”
My main complains about my stay are: 1. We paid for the stay of three persons, but the towels and the slippers were prepared only for two. 2. The male staff at the front desk stated during our check-in that male guests were not allowed to use onsen on the second floor, but this rule has not been specified in the hotel website. It seems that the restriction is selective and biased.

Great value, convenient location”
My family of 4 (myself, husband and 2 young children) booked the Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto Gojo for a last minute planned trip. We've stayed in a comparable hotel very close by, so we're familiar with the area. We like the convenient location, just 1 stop away from Kyoto Station or Shijo Station (Shijo has more shopping and dining options). There is a great soba restaurant across the street, a convenience store next door, and a grocery store not too far down the road. I didn't get the chance to try the spa, unfortunately. My family also did not try the buffet breakfast. If you have heavy luggage, I would suggest taking the taxi to and from Kyoto Station as it can be difficult carrying up and down the subway stairs, especially if you have young children with you. For such a last minute trip, it was great value for our money. It was a great, short stay.

Good hotel as base for Kyoto sight seeing”
We’d spent 4 nights here as our base for Kyoto. Hotel is very clean, room is a good size, next to a 7-Eleven and the ladies at the front desk could speak English (at least could help us with directions). It’s 3-mins’ walk from Gojo subway station Exit 3 and approx 20 mins walk from Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo station. Two bonuses - (i) the hotel has a public bath (gender segregated - in fact the ladies’ has a number lock for security) and (ii) a ‘Handy’ mobile phone for our free use which is most helpful for more local info for sights, food to try and of course, navigation. We recently stayed at Vessel Hotel and had a lovely time. The location is spot on, only a few steps from the subway station, the staff were all accommodating and helpful, the buffet breakfast offers both Western and Japanese delicious food, the room we stayed at was spotless and the housekeeping staff changed the bedding everyday! - we didn't realize this until we saw our room getting cleaned. The hotel offers welcome drinks (opens everyday at certain time) to guests which I think is a nice touch of hospitality. The hotel also provides a mobile phone (with data and free international calls on certain countries) for guests to use during the stay - a great feature. They also have umbrellas to lend during rainy days. I would have love to soak in the hotel's public bath but just couldn't get myself bathing naked with strangers. Four nights in Kyoto is too short and we would love to visit again, we will definitely stay at Vessel Hotel the next time. Thank you for the hospitality.
