There’s not much to dislike here. If you’re ok w bathrooms not being in the room, this place is an amazing find! Super chic with a Kenji Yanobe sculpture as the lounge centerpiece.

It’s clean, classy, comfortable and modern. My twin room space is just nice for a solo traveller. The heater in the room is strong and doesn’t make any sound. Pillows and blankets are comfortable. Will come back again. Water heater is strong too.

My husband and i missed he hotel so much. Friendly and helpful staff. Quite a good location. Simple and nice breakfast The only con is no subway available for late arrival, have to take cab (to pay extra cost), but it is just a minor problem. Definitely will come back again.

Value for Money + Instagrammable + Best Budget Choice in Kyoto IN ONE”
This is by far one of the best budget accommodations we've been to! WeBase is a know hostel chain in Japan but very affordable. We stayed for 2 nights and it did not disappoint given the affordable rates! It is located right in the middle of Kyoto's commercial center (Kawaramachi area) and a few minutes walk from the subway (Shijo Stn) which is two stops away from Kyoto Station so no hassle in commuting and reaching attractions. The hostel is actually resembles a boutique hotel in terms of ambiance, ambiance and design minus the huge price. Free breakfast is outstanding and delicious! Toilets/bath rooms, even shared are all perfectly clean and convenient. It has laundry area, wash room, and an instagrammable cafe-inspired lounge/library area that doubles as dining area! Lighting is perfect all over! You should check this out! We will definitely be back here or in other WeBase branches,

Best hostel in Japan so far!!! I stayed the Webase Kyoto hostel on November when my Japan sim card had a problem. So I was embarrassed. I met Korean staff who gave many kindness. She was awesome. So my travelled was pretty good. Webase Kyoto hostel which had clean, good breakfast, friendly staffs. It was definitely worth the stay. I would love to stay there in the future.

Good Value and Lite breakfast included”
Love the people that work here, very friendly. Location wise just few minutes walk from the subway or bus station. There’s a FamilyMart next to the hostel, very convenient to buy the things you need at any time. My family took double sharing without bathroom and we found it’s okay to use the sharing bathroom in separate floor and toilet in each level. The best thing during my stay is breakfast is included. WeBase have provide easy/ light meals which include porridge, breads, eggs, cheese slide & ham, cereal & milks, variety of juice etc. which is much better than Hotel. It was out of our expectation, give 5 star. Definitely will be back if I’m back to Kyoto

This place felt very comfortable with every amenity I needed. ”
I stayed the night before at 9 Hours Kyoto and although that was a unique experience that felt very futuristic- it also felt very stark and a bit lonely. Walking into Wee Base I felt that the place was warm and tasteful and to be frank a bit of luxury after the night before. I made myself comfortable after a long day's walk with a cup of tea and a photo book of Kyotos gardens and temples. The woman's dorm and powder room felt very safe and were supplied with a range of lovely lotions and toiletries. They even had a Dyson hairdrier which I had been curious to try. The best part though was the beautiful breakfast with cheese and a range of breads from a French bakery. I also loved the coffee and various fruit juices. I stayed last week and enjoyed it so much I am returning this week.

After I have been to two different hostel in Kyoto,this place definitely stands out. The location is perfect for temple visits,the most lively area in Kyoto,convenient as they have a lot of things to offer all around the area. The hostel itself is clean,well maintain ,they have the best powder room for female traveler and I love that they prepare all sorts of hair tools, good quality amenities and the place always smells good. The common area very cosy. The staff service is depends on who you meet,I would say that it is just average. Some are extremely nice and helpful and some are just indifferent. Overall, I am satisfied and no doubt that I will come back to the hostel for my next visit. Thank you for those who has helped me during my stay.

A very comfortable stay in a modern awesome guesthouse”
We were pleasantly surprised with the guesthouse's amenities, architecture and staff. Best guesthouse I have stayed so far! Adequate and so clean bathrooms, comfy/warm toilets, complete with laundry & iron area, cozy lounge area and all the staff were very helpful and speak good english! I think They have raise the bar for awesome guesthouse for us. Location is very good as well! We will definitely be back here. Thank you to the Webase team! :)

Female dome is awesome!”
Love their cat decoration around the hostel. A whole 4/F is female only area, luggage storage area is separated with the beds area. Slipper and towels are included, which is really thoughtful. Love the supplies in powder room, including hair straighter and face steamer. Powder room is huge and you could chat with friends in there. Staffs are nice and always smiling. Only that location is slightly away from the main area of Kawaramachi , but still walk-able distance.

After booking with them and arriving at WeBase Kyoto, we discovered better and cheaper options around, which included private shower and bathroom. - The rooms are extremely small with no space to open your suitcase. - Also, it was unconformable to use showers and toilets outside the room. (Showers are located in the basement). - Pillows are extremely thin. - not a good breakfast.
