Good hotel with a fair price”
Wisma City Inn is centrally located and not difficult to find. They had polite staff and one of them could speak english at a decent level. The room was clean and had all that we needed, including WiFi in the room (not fast, but fast enough). The hotel is located very near the harbor if you arrive by ferry (we took a Pelni ship from Labuan Bajo), and it only takes 10-15 minutes by Taxi (we payed around 40.000rp, but this seems to have been overpriced). We were relieved to find a laundry service just 1 minutes walk from the hotel (7.500rp/kilo ; 15.000rp/kilo if you want it back the same day). The hotel was good, but Makassar is not a very interesting city, and seems to be mostly a stop-over (as it was for us). We asked the staff to serve breakfast earlier than normal because we had to catch a bus. It was good service, but the breakfast consisted of two pieces of untoasted bread with either chocolate sprinkles or jam and tea or coffee. Other than the breakfast, it is recommendable for a stop-over.

Great value for money hotel”
Great place to stay if stopping in Makassar. Good location, price. Rooms and bathrooms were modern and clean. Staff spoke English and got us a cab to the airport. Breakfast could be better. No toasting facilities and fruit could be offered. But great hotel, also tv is ok.

Worth the money to spend”
We spent 4 nights here, the first 2 days for a conference while the rest 2 for holidays. The hotel is extremely clean. The location is superb, near to almost everywhere; mall, Karebosi Square, Losari Beach, Fort Rotterdam, you name it. WiFi connection is available in any room for free, it's not that fast though but more than enough to chat on WhatsApp or post something on Facebook. The bed is good and comfortable enough for me. They give bottled water everyday. While for the breakfast, they only provide white bread & tea/coffee. If it's not enough for you, there are KFC and some local restaurants available near it. If you need airport transfer, they will happy to arrange it for you. It costs 140K IDR (~$14) one way. Pretty cheap if you are in a group of 5-6 people. Otherwise, you can choose to use DAMRI (Airport shuttle bus to the city) which cost 25K IDR (~ $2.5) one way but you'll still need to walk around 300 m to the hotel or you can continue by using becak (local traditional vehicle) or pete-pete (local mini-bus). For the price I pay, I can't ask for anything else. Highly recommended hotel.

Clean and comfortable hotel”
This hotel is very clean and comfortable hotel. Bathroom is ok. Only breakfast that need to be better. The location is great.... near Makassar Trade Center, Karebosi, RRI and also bentang Fort Rotterdam. Especially the hotel is behind the KFC on jln Ahmad Yani.

Helpful friendly staff and room for a song”
On arrival the staff were happy to let my daughter know via Facebook that I had arrived safely and organised a taxi for my transfer to the airport at 2.30am. They also went to the trouble of preparing a simple breakfast for me at 2am. The location is central with a friendly restaurant ABE Cafe and Restoran next door and Ben'z Cake and Bakery Cafe and small supermarket across the road, great for getting provisions. Rooms are clean, the only downside, a nightclub to the rear, so pack earplugs and request a room towards the front. The hotel is behind a KFC, but as there are several in Makassar, make sure its on Jalan Ahmad Yani.

Great value, great location”
Very comfortable and convenient. Only a 300m walk to Fort Rotterdam. Within 50m walk of restaurants (including KFC), banks and a small supermarket. Friendly staff. Good wi-fi internet in the room. Hotel looked clean and new. Nothing fancy but great value.

Friendly staff, smelly noisy”
My stay was ok as I was looking for a cheap Room. No window. Smelly room and bathroom ( I had to buy deodorizer myself to get rid of the smell). The bed was clean and comfortable. There is a club close to the hotel so I can be noisy depending on where your bedroom is located. Since there offer short time stay rate, there are a lot if customers checking and out all night and I could hear the staff cleaning the rOom next door at least 3 times. Finally the price of the superior room was cheaper if you walked in at the hotel than through agoda .

Lovely staff but grubby room”
I really want to say nice things about this hotel because the staff were adorable, but I can't. As others have said, the wifi is bad. The room looked OK when I first went in but there was a film of grey powder on everything, there were baby cockroaches everywhere, the toilet constantly leaked all over the floor, and the towel was old and cheap and left fibres all over your skin when you tried to use it. Also the road that the hotel is on is really badly paved, so when it rains (as it did when I was there) you can't leave without traipsing through potholes filled with dirty water. I didn't feel clean the whole time I was there. On the plus side, it was very cheap and they were super helpful with arranging stuff like food delivery and taxis for me and it's near a couple of eating places like KFC - but it wasn't a particularly relaxing stay.

The hotel itself is very good, but unfortunately has no sufficient parking space, and the breakfast were only bread with several kind of spread, but no toaster provided. The coffee and tea are OK

Smoky, poor wifi, friendly staff”
Room smelled of cigarette smoke (requested non-smoking room), wifi not working or very slow at 2 kb/s. No English language television stations, noisy especially at 4am cleaners start banging broom against walls and scrapping chairs on floor. Breakfast just 2 slices of bread, not even a knife to cut or spread it with. Friendly staff, but not good if non-smoker westerner wanting wifi.
