Great and enthusiastic staff”
The Yasmin Hotel has compact and comfortable rooms that provide amenities and necessities. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The staff is anxious to please and make your stay pleasant. The manager provided a car & driver at no charge in order for me to buy a bus ticket to Tana Toraja. I was upgraded to a deluxe room when there were issues with the standard room I had booked. There are restaurants by the sea close to the Yasmin. The Yasmin is a good mid-range choice hotel for Makassar.

Budget hotel with absolutely great breakfast”
I stayed at yasmin hotel and overall was so great. The hotel price is cheap which is good for business travelers like me. One thing that I love from the hotel is they served really good breakfast until I can't wait for the next breakfast menu. The receptionist also very helpful about giving information about the city. There are only 2 things that I don't like from the hotel. First is the bathroom is so smelly and found out that the smell is from the curtain. Second, I got room that have window on it so the view of the room is the street and I think there is a pub nearby, so every night I cannot sleep because the music is so loud. But I still love the hotel and next time I will request a room without window so that I can sleep better.

Clean & Good Location”
I stayed here 3 nights in standard room. The price is cheap. It's situated at Chinatown area. 7 minutes walk to Makassar Trade Center (MTC) and the public transport center. During the weekend, along the main road, there are so many activities by teenagers. Walked about 10 minutes to the Fort Rotterdam and 15 minutes to Loasari Beach. Wifi only can play at the Lobby. Lobby there is karaoke if you want to sing. At night, walking to the street to the hotel might be very dark. The bathroom is clean. The bed is comfortable and the AC working properly. For the breakfast, make sure breakfast early as the food tend to finish early and there is no top-up.

Though the way to Yasmin Hotel may seem dinghy, the premises are absolutely comfortable and the hotel staff are most obliging.

Good location in the city center”
Very good location in the Makassar city center, near to Karebosi, Fort Rotterdam, shopping center, and Makassar culinary spots. The receptionist allowed me to check-in earlier. I gave the printed Agoda voucher and they processed it within 5-10 minutes. The standard room is a little bit old, the shower room is a bit small, and you can hear noise (even only people chat) from outside the room. However it's quite comfort for me and family since I stayed there just for one night. Good price also from Agoda.

Good location & cheap”
Have stayed twice, going & returning from Toraja. This convenient & cheap downmarket city 'business' hotel isn't really 3 star, but a big discount makes the problems worth tolerating! Yasmin caters mostly to local business travellers, groups, seminars etc. Very few tourists staying there. Refurbished rooms are acceptable though badly maintained - e.g. plumbing leaking & hanging loose. Older rooms are very tired. Rooms were fairly clean, had aircon & the mattresses were ok. The room had a kettle, tea & coffee, & complimentary bottled water. Staff are friendly enough but don't speak much English. It's on a relatively quiet (for an Indonesian city) sideroad in Chinatown within 10-15mins walking distance of waterfront bars, souvenir shops & local fast food. Central location known to drivers means that it's easy to arrive late night from the airport by taxi (USD16) & get away to the bus stations early in the morning. Free WiFi in lobby is good enough for skype, but noisy TV makes conversation difficult. Breakfast is OK if you like very basic local Indonesian food (buffet rice/noodles/soup & garnish, toast, coffee/tea, juice), small omelette available to bemused westerners on request. Group smoking & more loud TV make eating environment unpleasant so better to forget breakfast & eat down the road at the excellent coffee shops (or even KFC). Family friendly at weekends means children play happily but noisily in the corridors. Makassar itself isn't as picturesque as you might hope, & isn't worth more than 24 hrs stopover - waterfront, harbour etc very seedy & polluted even by Indonesian standards, no night market or other evening attractions. Dirty streets with relentless traffic are flooded in rain by blocked drains making walking difficult, especially in the dark after 6pm. It's a transit stop, period, & the hotel is tolerable for a cheap overnight stay.

Cheap hotel with average quality”
Staying in Yasmin Hotel Makassar for me is very usual. Even the hotel condition is average, but the price are reasonable and fair enough. If you're business traveler and have limited budget, you can consider this hotel. But if you come to Makassar to holiday, or with more budget, I suggest you choose another hotel.

Strategic Location”
This is my first time to Makassar. I have no family and friends during my vacation to Makassar. I arrived at Makassar at 2.30 am. I am thankful that during Lebaran event, Yasmin hotel has provided me with the airport pick up early in the morning (at 2.30 am) and they have also quite helpful to look for car rental during that Lebaran event of which mostly car rental were not available. However, I was not satisfy with the room. Small is ok, but it is not well maintained. Perhaps,I reserved for promotion one (Rp. 195.000). I have no idea for condition of other room with higher price. I chose that promoted room considering I would only stay for half day. Thank you

A stopover before moving on to Maluku Islands”
I wouldn't particularly rave about this hotel, but it was a better pick of what is a bad bunch in the price range that we were looking at. Even though we got the 'Deluxe'room, some of the promised amenities were missing (hair dryer, coffee making facilities). These weren't important to us, so I didn't bother raising it with the staff - but it was just one more thing that added up to a very average experience. The room was large and well furnished with old, outdated furniture, but was reasonably comfortable. There was a very large window behind a heavy curtain - but when you opened the curtain, the window was blocked off by a brick wall. I noticed rooms opposite us had actual windows - I think there were the Suites. Our room was on the 1st floor and there was no offer to help carry our bags or to show us to the room. We had to ask for towels when we checked in. The biggest issue for me was the smoke-filled dining area. It wasn't the locals, but the European tourists who have no respect for others who are trying to enjoy their breakfast or evening drinks. Wifi is limited to the dining area. This would have been OK except for the fact that you had to sit in a smoke-filled room. We decided to stay on in Makassar for a few more days and changed hotels at this point because any longer in this place would have become too depressing. All in all, it's an OK option for a night or two as you transit through Makassar. Don't come with high expectations and be prepared for the heavy smoke, and you'll be fine here.

Good for a night stop off on your way somewhere”
This is a nice hotel to spend a night if you have to stop in Makassar. Comfy beds, TV, nice food in the restaurant. Staff on reception are really helpful and booked us a bus ticket to Rantepao.

Great Location but old fashioned hotel”
The Hotel location is the "red distric" of Makassar, just in the front you can find "Wisma Jampea" for you who want to refreshing (massage) after a day business. Wifi access is available in the lobby. And the speed is very fast. Room is big, but old fashioned, with poor air conditioner.

It is just nice for economical short stay”
For me this is a reasonably comfortable hotel,,not expensive with good staff and decent breakfast. The internet access is only available in the lobby not in the room. I ask for adapter for my three pin socket because they have just the round two pin and they cant provide that. The staff are nice but the food in the restaurant is quiet expensive. The problem with this hotel is that it is located in a China town area where road is narrow and drain is not well managed and there is not much street light around. There is not many restaurant and it can be dangerous to walk alone at nght as this is near red street area of Makassar Port,
